Just got my 1520 and this should be pretty cool on it. Not to mention having Jen Taylor voice it is awesome. :)

Not sure what's with some of the hate, if you like halo the voicing and name are pretty neat, if you don't its no more odd of a name than siri. Its not like you have to give everyone that you show it to a 10 minute lecture on her story arch and motivations. Ha

also above poster, it's a halogaf inside joke. :)

Does anyone, apart from tech buffs, really bother with voice "assistants" and the like? I never use Google Now as I find typing info quicker and more convenient. Besides I'd rather not have anyone in the house know my entire browsing history. I've always felt people who use such software are really just pretentious twats, ditto for those who walk around with their phone arm out in front of them on loud speaker.
I use voice commands daily.
Usually just telling my Nexus 7 to play music,
But for math homework saying "OK, Google what is 54 minus 17" or whatever for stupid math is a billion times easier and faster than opening my calculator and doing that stupid math.
There's uses, but relying on voice commands is weird.

I'm one of the last people on Earth who couldn't care less about smartphones, but as a Halo fan, I'll get a Windows 8 since I'm due for am upgrade this month.

Thinks mods influence posters politics. Promoted to QAnon Editor.
So MS uses it's ten year old aging franchise to push it's me-too voice assistance? This should sell dozens of phones.

Ok, this is amazing, haha.

Aw yiss. A few.

Anything about BR starts, sprint or AA's? :lol

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?

Looks like it works pretty well. I like the phone call initiated reminder. It is also good to see some personality from an MS product.

It's disgusting. Europe market share is bigger and MS is still USA USA USA.

Goddamn just look at Bing. Beta status since forever.

MS is an American company. Europe is not a singular country with a single language. Market share is different throughout, and American market share is very important so I don't understand the complaining.

If anything, this will help Halo, considering that by the time Halo 5 comes out lifetime sales of Lumias will have easily surpassed lifetime sales of the entire Halo franchise :p

It doesn't sound like Jen Taylor

Most of the voice you've heard isn't. Jen is still recording, and will be replacing a lot of the "dev" voice, and they'll continue to evolve it into more of Jen's voice during the dev cycle.

Most of the chit chat and jokes is her.

Honestly, I've never actually experienced any Windows phone. This thing got me intrigued, but I don't want to buy an entire phone and be let down cuz the phone is sub par.

I'm more concerned about the apps I'm gonna miss out if I move to another phone. This is my biggest concern when switching a phone. Probably the only reason why i still use iphone, really. The apps and games.

Totes legit concern, so check out what's available and read some of the announcements about the app store(s) from todays build conference.
