This feels like a watershed moment in gaming. This may sound strange, but it reminds me of when No Mans Sky released; it promises so much that has never been done before due mainly to tech limitations. Only this game actually delivers and is amazing right at launch!

He literally said he's seen it running on XSX, a couple of months ago. And the game is running on PC's far lower in spec than XSX. Literally no reason why it wouldnt come to XSX. In fact its still slated for XB1, as far as i know lol.

I wouldn't say so. It's not without relevant flaws, which I'm surprised many did not talk about. Mostly, it does the super-bare minimum at actually helping people to learn anything beyond basic flight with the simplest aircraft.
I can see many hitting a massive brick wall as soon as they try to fly anything more advanced than a Cessna.
Of course, this may not be a problem for experienced simmers, but it's not like they did not try very hard to position this as accessible. It is... if all you wanna fly is a Cessna.

The sim community has been begging for a proper next gen flight simulator for more than 10 years. Since that infamous DX10 bullshot for flight simulator X back in 2006 but you were probably still wearing nappies back then. Needless to say the DX10 implementation in simulator x was beyond disappointing. The demand has been so high that entire companies were built just to produce add ons for a 15 year old game in order to modernize it.

But well, this is just the base data. Without an internet connection it won't look actually "real". Before you start your flight the flight simulator will download the high-res stuff so it looks much more like the real world.
No SSD or HDD alone could handle that much data.

But well, it is "just" an approximation of satellite images. Looks great though. Normally you wouldn't fly that near to the ground.

Good start to quality games. NOw lets see if they can do that beyond racing and simulator games.
But kudos to MS, the PC market needs stuff like this to push graphics, and hopefully they update it for VR.

Yes you can turn the simulation aspects right down, pick a plane, and explore the world.

I'm curious how this will score on Xbox if a difference in scores at all. Hope there's a nice breakdown of concessions made in console.

Series X will be a vastly gimped version because of the lack of the community modding or VATSIM, not mentioning the graphics will be dumbed down due to Series X's weak and dated hardware.

This game is getting a lot of mainstream attention because of the visuals and faithful reproduction of the earth, so its natural for it to get an AAA treatment from the media.

This game has a very specific type of audience, but if you do right by that audience, you're handsomely rewarded.

Also: fuck WB Games, MS needs to buy Asobo. The results speak for themselves.
For a next-gen game console there's nothing "weak" about it. Do you guys chunk out 90% of your brain into the freezer at the start of the week and add it in piece-by-piece every few days or something?

You can't actually predict what is or isn't going to be a big draw sometimes. Granted FS is way too complex for the frankly dumbed-down skillset of most console gamers for them to genuinely get into it without a massive learning curve, but I think there's a few casual modes (or casual settings) they could do to draw intimidated gamers in.
Granted yes the idea of flying planes doesn't have the immediate appeal of shooting up aliens on a space planet, but like I said some games have surprising appeal if done and marketed right.

It's not on Xbox consoles and nobody knows when it will be yet.
They should just make the game Series X exclusive and cancel the last gen versions so that they can get it released on console sooner rather than later.

Its been on the top selling steam games for months at $60 when you can fully play it for $1 on gamepass. An entire ecosystem of companies, millions of flight simmers and virtual airlines are preparing to move into it. Its as far from a niche game as it gets.

If the game wasn't niche, Xbox would have promoted the hell out of it, they would of damn sure found a way to get this to the console players the same time as the PC guys.
