NEW YORK (Feb 5, 2005 ) –* Colgate-Palmolive introduces the revolutionary new Colgate® 360° ™**toothbrush, the only toothbrush with a built-in tongue cleaner clinically proven to remove more plaque and odor-causing bacteria.*

Bad breath is a result of the breakdown of food in the mouth or salivary particles, which tend to settle in a biofilm on the tongue.* This biofilm forms waste products such as volatile sulfur compounds (VSC) that have been strongly implicated in causing bad breath.* One of the most effective ways to eliminate bad breath is to brush your teeth and your tongue.* The new 360° ™ toothbrush features a unique soft-textured tongue cleaner on the back of the brush head that safely and gently breaks through the biofilm, removing more plaque and up to 96% more bacteria than the leading manual toothbrush[1]and reducing oral malodor by more than three times[2].*

The new Colgate® 360° ™ toothbrush has a special bristle configuration that reduces up to 40% more interproximal plaque[3]and reduces up to 72% more gingival bleeding[4]designed for a whole mouth clean.* Its tightly packed, pointed bristles clean deep between teeth and along the gumline while its soft polishing cups help to gently remove stains.* Its raised cleaning tip provides better access to hard to reach posterior areas.*

“Colgate 360 has a revolutionary design with unique features to clean the tongue, a prime source of oral bacteria, as well as teeth and hard to reach areas of the mouth,” said Dr. William DeVizio, Worldwide Director Clinical Research, Oral Care R&D for Colgate-Palmolive.* “This was our most extensive toothbrush clinical program in over ten years, and this toothbrush has proven to provide a superior whole mouth clean.”

The new Colgate® 360° ™ toothbrush will first arrive in U.S. food, drug and mass merchandise stores in March. The toothbrush will be available in four vibrant, translucent colors in Full Head Soft and Full Head Medium SKUs, and will have a retail average selling price of about $3.49. * The Compact Head Soft will also be available to dental professionals.* Its packaging will feature a swatch of the material used for the tongue cleaner on the outside of the blister for consumers to touch and feel.

It's not official, but sure a good bet. But maybe it'll be some name we never heard, who knows...

I dunno, I think Xbox 360 is as official as PlayStation Wonderful.

Owned ?

They take the shitty 360 name and MS are somehow owned ?

ugghhh...

Owned as in being first to market with a 360° word. Though I'm sure we will see hundreds of 360° named crap in 2005.

If you really want to go back in time. IBM or was it Intel used 360 as a product name shortly before MS became what it is today. Though it means nothing today, it is interesting.

except it somehow makes sense to use 360 here..
seriously, xbox 360, wtf?

on the other hand, "a rose by any other name.."

Make fun of the gamecube all you want, but honestly, how would you pick that thing up? It's a very heavy sphere with no handles. Plus that's even bigger than the xbox.

It's 343 Guilty Spark, a character from Halo.

In other words: calm down. It's just fun.

Actually the guy making it had no idea of what 343 guilty spark is apparently.. He just thought of the xbox 360 name and did that. So it's a coincidence.

I didn't know the reference. :lol
I was wondering why someone would spend so long on such a silly design, now it makes sense.

OMG, I just realised that Nintendo and MS are in fact working together... What is a revolution? well it could be considered one trip around the sun or around anything... 360º around

reminds me of a Goa'uld handgrenade from StarGate :-/
Do you guys think it'll explode after 10 seconds?

That's a trick question!! Goa'uld handgrenades don't explode!

I want them to keep Xenon as the name.
If a company like Xerox can be such a big force in offices worldwide then a name like Xenon can catch on.

Wow, didn't know Colgate-Palmolive owned Microsoft. I guess they're a pretty big company. As long as they don't interfere with the game business and such though, I don't mind.
