Following a tease in May, miHoYo has officially announced Honkai: Nexus Anima, a creature-collector adventure strategy game in the Honkai franchise. Recruitment for the "Nexus Bond Test," which will run across PC and iOS, is currently live via the official website until September 12. The test will support English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.

Here is an overview of the game, via miHoYo:
Honkai: Nexus Anima is a brand-new creature-collector adventure strategy game in the Honkai series. In this world, Nexus is the unseen bonds woven between paired concepts, such as Love and Hate, Light and Dark, Life and Death, among many others. However, this balance is unexpectedly shattered when a sudden rupture severs those connections, scattering their remnant powers across the land in the form of Anima. From this fractured order, players embark on a journey: through missions and combat, they forge bonds with these Anima, unlocking abilities that reflect the unique concepts each embodies. Moreover, these abilities can be combined to create diverse battle tactics and influence how players explore and engage with the expansive overworld.

In the game, players take on the role of a plane-hopping traveler who has escaped captivity, embarking on an all-new adventure. The journey begins in a tranquil town that opens into uncharted realms. As players advance, they encounter Anima companions with distinct personalities and forge bonds that carry through both exploration and combat. In Nexus Battles, these companions stand beside players as the story uncovers the mysteries of the protagonist's past. As the latest major entry in the Honkai series, Honkai: Nexus Anima continues to deliver the franchise's signature high-quality storytelling and artistic style, and it also marks a bold new chapter in both gameplay and worldbuilding.

Maybe it's time for Nintendo to face some serious competition in the Pokemon game space. If others offer great Pokemon alternatives and they get a lot of traction, then maybe we'll finally get a truly ambitious Pokemon game.
It's about time Nintendo got some competition. They've been stuck there for decades.

What actually happened to this Korean Pokémon?

The Nintendo Defense Force isn't going to get mad at this one because it clearly has it's own distinct artstyle. The monster designs aren't Pokemon ripoffs. Gameplay looks like a better version of whatever those random open world trials were in Scarlett/Violet. Main battle loop also look very different to Pokemon with an overhead camera angle.

I'm also a huge Nintendo fan, but I don't want to defend or gloss over Nintendo's attitude toward customers. I hope the game turns out well (despite Ghacha).

it's good they got more competition, for starters I hope they improve the engine… and the gameplay.

It's not like the games sold just a couple of units, they sell millions.

You're right. Nintendo should be more ambitious like *checks miHoYo's track record* this and make an ambitious game riddled with gambling mechanics and siphon money from its player base.

Actual battles look like TFT. Not very appealing IMO.
Also, if the focus is in the creatures the usual hack of selling waifus is not aviable here. I am not as optimistic with this one's success. It won't flop but I don't think it will be as crazy as the others.
