Just a question: I saw you in the OT thread saying how today is the last pre-registration day. What's the source?

I had an email from Nintendo saying it's the last CHANCE today.
Ok, if they do the same thing they did in Japan, where the last day to pre-register was the day before its release, it's coming today / tomorrow.
EDIT: Chance, not day? Then it's a bit different.

It could definitely feel more native to the platform - it does actually have swipe to go back one page like in iOS, but it doesn't support it natively, rather it reads the input then performs the action. So it's less discoverable. But I'm nitpicking at this point.

How were you checking, was it the Play Store? Region is counted as a reason it might not be compatible.

I checked firstly by going on the play store on my PC's web browser. It listed them each individually as incompatible. Then secondly, I checked on the devices themselves by going into the Play Store app and typing in Miitomo. Nothing came up.

If your Google account isn't Japanese, that'll probably be it. So I'm in the UK and it says none of my devices are compatible, but it does work on my phone when I sideloaded it. Otherwise, those would be some surprising omissions of support.

I don't really see how that's a missed opportunity though. You've hyped this up when there was no reason to. (Which is basically NeoGAF in a nutshell)
EDIT: And honestly, if Nintendo wanted to do a stream about Miitomo, we know they can on their own.

Not sure what Apple would've gained from having Nintendo at their event. If it was exclusive to iOS, sure...but it's not. Like, in what context would you bring them up? Ultimately it's Apple's event and everything that happens there should play directly in their favour. Sure, you could do the kind of "make something that is not exclusive appear to be exclusive" that happens often in console gaming, but that goes directly against Nintendo's goals with their mobile initiative of maximizing the amount of users. There's no point to it, there is no missed opportunity.

Just downloaded this. It's pretty neat and charming, but I'm not really invested in the game because I'll probably just start over in the US version once it comes out. I still can't make a Mii that looks both cute and like me (I get it, I'm not cute), so that's still a bummer.

For anyone here who's using Miitomo with a Japanese Nintendo Account linked and used their Mii from their Nintendo account, I've got a question for you... If you use your Mii from your Nintendo Account, does your Mii update in Miitomo if you change it on another device linked with that account (Nintendo 3DS or Wii U)? I'm not sure how I want to go about creating my personal Mii in Miitomo... The most ideal way would be to use my Mii's QR Code from Tomodachi Life, since that would carry over my voice and personality with it. However, if pulling your Mii from your Nintendo Account actually links it with your 3DS and/or Wii U, I'd prefer to go that route, 'cause if I make any changes to my Mii I'd like it to update across all of my devices... But I'm not sure if Miitomo even works like that. It seems the only way to change your Mii after creating it is by manually editing it. There's no option to update the Mii via QR Code or anything...

Custom ROMs are even worse on that matter. Rooted stock can easily be fixed somewhat but Custom ROMs is a worse matter. I want to use the APK they made, but it won't work for me D:
I really don't want to buy another tablet, mine is a HP Touchpad is CM11 on it and it works fine. It's like Nintendo didn't think people can use custom ROMs for a legitimate reason. I could get rid of root if Nintendo wants to, it's not like I need it.

The only phone I have at hand that has a stock Android 4.1+.
My real phone is 4.0.4, my tablet is 4.4.4 but it's custom ROM so I can't try Miitomo, so let's say I'm REALLY unlucky here.
That shitty phone is 4.2.2.
EDIT: Did I mention that this phone I'm using is so small I can't even rotate Miis in Miifoto?
I tried downloading the apk, and it won't work for me, even with the module. What the hell, Nintendo? From what I understand on that forum, this is a deliberate check to see whether the game is on a rooted device and refuses to play if it is. This is bullshit. Do jailbroken iphones have the same problems?
