It's no surprise this died so quickly, there's just not enough content here.
What did you expect? You're meant to check back the next day to see if friends responded to your answers and see if they've posted anything interesting as their answers. You only need to use it for a few minutes a day. One one hour session really is the wrong way to use it.
It's just a light social app to me. I check it once a day. Takes about 10 minutes. Learn a bit about some people and check the shop.
It's not a game I sit there and play 30+ minutes at a time. And I never want it to be that. It's just like checking my email daily or something. There are a few people on there that have remained relatively active and I know a lot more about them now than before and that's pretty interesting and entertaining to me.
It's helping me to recognize some NeoGAF people too when I had trouble doing so before since there are so many posters and I don't see enough common people. Like Vibranium. I'm not sure I had ever noticed him before friending on Miitomo but I certainly do now and I pay more attention to his posts than other people because of it.
The My Nintendo points are a bonus.

Used 11 tickets to earn a Zinc layered LS, all I got is 5 different shorts and 3 different high horses.

It's deliberate. You can tweak the parameters for some hilarious results.

Yeah, after the update my Mii no longer speaks... a little perplexing lol. And the background music occasionally cuts out completely for a few seconds. I searched a few forums, but have yet to hear anyone else share a similar experience since the update 0_o

Yeah, I'm having the audio issues as well. Music randomly doesn't play anymore, speech sometimes doesn't happen, etc. Weird.

If you have the app installed, it should go to the web page but then automatically ask if you want to open the app, and it adds from there (note that this is in the iOS version. I can't speak to how our if it works on Android).
But I'll add you.
