The chart shows a complete collapse in players over two days.

Finally, a thread grounded in reality. No more mental gymnastics about "neutral stances" while aggressively defending every criticism like it's a personal attack

Meanwhile, the loudest voice in the other thread spent days demanding people play the game before forming opinions, then turned around and admitted "its faults are obvious." You can't have it both ways

All the red flags people were "gaslighting" each other over? They weren't just valid, they were generous in hindsight

This is what happens when marketing meets reality. Let's drop the cope and talk facts

I had hoped that it might be like a futuristic Mafia and at least some solid 6-7 or so. People barely cared about it, and until they might fix most of its bugs and added the planned features those will be gone too.
The release date was no bad choice, but not being really ready probably was.

At least you took a neutral stance and just show the facts. A certain someone will be very happy with you.

But yeah, too bad the game isn't received very well. Could've been a nice action shooter without requiring too much thinking and just enjoy the ride. Maybe one day it will be and also cheaper.

Never head about this game until I saw some threads popping out here on GAF. No surprise at the low numbers, game looks like shit.

People are way too keen for this game to fail considering it was a fart in the wind until literally 2 weeks ago for most people.

It's a shame that it did turn out to be a dud though.

But as far as the game is concerned, they haven't done anything really to warrant the hate status besides releasing a dud, which is 90% of steam, including the big publishers.

Like they didnt harrass their fans or try push agendas or anything like that, they committed the crime of not being a AAA game and having a copy leak

This may be the worst modern game with AAA aspirations that has released. It's special.

If you like terrible games this is your game.

But, THE BENZ man, former GTA glory. It was suppose to be the savior of AA... oh SO much POTENTIAL.

Yes, it was a fart in the wind that nobody gave a shit about until certain people here started simping for this fraud of a game.

Insane to me that you have people here trying to defend it when it meets all the criteria of an absolute failure. Why was there even some weird defense force here for it is so beyond me. Any other game that comes out in this state would get slammed on, as it should. Games like this SHOULD fail. This is what we want. This game was never going to be some misunderstood classic or some shit. Hilarious.

But guys, just wait until it's fully patched, re-balanced, re-done and hopefully runs properly in 18 months. There's a good game in there trust me bro, don't be so impatient after spending $60 on an awful product.

Baffling to me that people defend shit like this. Prey got a fucking 4/10 for bugs and even as someone who thinks that game is phenomenal...yea, don't fucking push out a messy product, jackasses.

Why do some people like pain?
Hey now, there's folks that find enjoyment in mid or bad entertainment. B-movie enthusiasts are a similar breed. We know this movie is bad but the ways it fails can be quite humorous and riffing on it with friends is a lot of fun.

Oh man that is comedy gold!

Here is the full video in case anybody wants to watch over 3 hours of this game:

I just randomly skipped to the 55:00 mark and watched a bit. It doesn't look terrible, just extremely generic. And he keeps making fun of the story for how nonsensical it is.

The game warranted neither response from anyone, but it's undeniable that games media, which filtered through social media to your average gamer wanted this game to be a humongous fail, like some sort of Concord reprisal.

sure the people here defending something they had no idea whether would pan out was silly but that's literally every game and every opinion.

There was however an orchestrated movement by a large group of people to hate this game though and i am not sure why. As you say its a AA dud, where was this outrage with literally every other AA dud.

no one went after STALKER2 at launch like they did this game and from what i played originally it too was in as bad a state at launch as this game seems to be in.

ALife 2 was literally broken and the AI literally didnt work in STALKER2, and that is just me nitpicking a single game. You can choose any game really that's released in the last few years and do that, games barely release in funtioning states nowadays especially on PC.

I Just don't understand the movement for this games hatred, like i said the devs didn't seem to do anything outrageous, there's not political or social agenda, it just seems like a AA dud made by a guy who once made a AAA blockbuster, they are a dime a dozen, most of them are forgotten and the world moves on, Callisto protocol, That magic FPS game that released recently, that weird multiplayer hovercar rts thing, The list is endless.

EDIT: Those games were Immortals and Disintegration

Other than not sending out review copies and cancelling sponsored streams? That's not very common.

And also, implying that all the negative feedback pre-release was bought and paid for.

Oh, you're one of them. Yes, nothing outrageous, just trying to charge full price for a broken, unfinished mess of a game. But hey, "no political or social agenda".... so it deserves to be praised for that??

Its a fucking game, first and foremost, they are asking for you to PAY for this garbage. You think this game got unfair treatment? Blame, yourself and your buddies for putting faith in THE BENZ to deliver.

Hope you have some way to back this up, otherwise people could assume you put the words of a company before the word of your fellow gamers.

Way I see it, consumers have all the right in the world to dunk and shit on a half-baked product. Otherwise this shit could become the norm.

Also, the STALKER 2 devs got a pass because of all the shit they've gone through during development. But even then, to me at least, their game seems way more interesting than whatever this Mindseye shit is.

Of all games, why does this one have a defense force?
Yeah it's weird. I didn't even know the game existed until I saw the threads here on GAF. Not even on 4chan I've caught a glimpse of it, seems like nobody cares about it.

Haven't seen a game crash and burn like this since Cyberpunk. CP was salvageable though. Mindseye? Not so much. Disappointed in Leslie for shipping such a broken mess of a game. Ain't no way he's coming back from this. His reputation and career is going down in flames after this.
