Mitch Hurwitz: Arrested Development is definitely returning but not before election

I took it to mean less work as in not needing to keep watching through most of the season for it to become 'good' given the structure with the cast difficulties.

I liked season 4, even if it was the weakest season.

Oh wow, copy bump

I think it means, less work for the viewer. Season 4 had so many concurrent storylines but you only got one character POV that you had to re-watch it several times to actually 'get' the bigger picture.

The re-cut version is more akin to the previous seasons, each episode having multiple POVs.

The structure of the Netflix series was very convoluted and not that easy to follow, this recut version should make it more easily digestible.

Thanks, guys. Makes a ton of sense.

Any word on if the recut version will also find its way to Netflix? I have, shamefully, never seen it. I loved Arrested Development (except for the Mr. F arc) but I keep hearing bad things about it.

For all the hate the 4th season got, it still had some of my favorite parts of the series. Gob's Sound of Silence meme, roofie cycle and Gob 2 (the one with him and Tony Wonder) was my favorite episode period. Hell, anything related to Gob in general. Actually I think the only eps I wasn't a huge fan of were Lindsey's

GOB was pretty much the saving grace of S4 (uncut) that and I enjoyed George Sr's episodes as well.

Season 4 had great stuff in it. The BIGGEST PROBLEM is the constant narration. I was rewatching recently and couldn't believe how often a scene wasn't allowed to play out fully without Howard jumping in to either explain the joke, or to tell us what happens next.

It's incredibly off putting.

I would LOVE to see the re-edit they did, can't wait for that because the material is there, i just want to let it happen.

Mr. F

Maebe is a pathological liar, a con artist and as lazy as her mother.

Just give her a few more years to catch up with the rest of the guys.

I'm not even sure Tracy was normal seeing she married Michael!

I never quite "got" all the Dead Wife jokes.

What was funny about that? We never knew Tracy.

Absolutely agree, was really overbearing, aside from that I enjoyed it.

I was not a fan of season 4. Watching it was a lot of work for little payoff. That said i'd love a linear edit of it, then hopefully i can have an easier time following things.

Season 4 was absolutely genius. What he was able to pull off in the end was incredible.
It definitely had some rough spots especially in the early episodes and I still hate "young Lucille and George" but man...He still pulled it off

Season 4 re-cut sounds like a good thing, and I'm very happy to read they're doing another season!
