God damn, this is pretty damn intimate. You see the exact moment when he realizes he lost the election.

I'm looking forward it.

Mod abuse EDIT:

It's up now for streaming.
Following his bid to win the U.S. presidency, most Americans believed they knew Mitt Romney. With unprecedented access, this documentary tracks Romney from 2006 and his first effort to win the Republican nomination, through the 2012 elections, revealing the man behind the sound bites in an authentic view the public rarely glimpsed during the media frenzy of a national campaign.

I hope we get to see Tagg go into rage mode.

Being a foreigner, I'm not as interested in US politics as most members here, but this looks absolutely fascinating despite that, just as a portrait of a person taking on an extraordinary challenge. I'm amazed they managed to get this degree of access.

Looks interesting, you're right about the part where you see that he's realized he lost the election. Add that on top of the line later in the trailer where he jokingly says that if you lose an election like this you become a loser for life.

I really want to know how far the campaign believed the "Skewed Polls!!" nonsense. I really, really, want to see the inside of the campaign on election night, when Romney finally realized he lost and had to make a quickie concession speech. There were reports that the Romney campaign believed so much that they would win that Romney didn't even prepare an concession speech at all.

Given by how gutted he looks when he lost I'd say they were true believers.

As far as I know, they really believed they were going to win. They were listening to the conservative networks and looking at their attendance at the rallies and events and thought they were in a good spot to win it. They expected to win out. So much so that Romney didn't even write a concession speech.

You see in the trailer he didn't have a concession speech

I've heard that Fox News polls were actually pretty accurate, they just didn't report on the ones that didn't fit their narrative

6-7, I'd say. It's not too bad. The trailer did a good job with humanizing him, surprisingly. They should've had something like this during his campaign.

I'm almost surprised at the degree of self-awareness he was exhibiting, very different from the Romney that he presented on the campaign. I remember thinking that video where he defended his Mormon beliefs being the only time he seemed sincere or genuine. Looks a good watch.

Want to see. Mitt Romney is an interesting guy, even if I don't agree with a lot of his stated beliefs on the campaign trail.

Yes and no. They did have accuracy because they had good analysts, but they also had Dick Cheney, along with Dick Morris, on there misrepresenting numbers and denying actual reports for the race. Not only because of the narrative they wanted to show, but also because Cheney actually had a lot on the line during the election.

Its...interesting. Watching the trailer. The documentary is trying so hard to make him seem likable and its just...not working for me, at all. Like even his behavior here seems fake. Its not that I was against him, I was pretty damn against Bush and I'm still capable of seeing Bush in a positive light as a person. Even "behind the scenes" Romney just seems empty

I need to watch this just to see if I feel the same way about the entire thing.

The candidate is supposed to be a true believer. He has to be out there thinking he's going to win.

You put on a good face but on election night in an election that wasn't even close, you should know the inevitable. It was shocking that they were shocked, the election was over for at least a week before election night

This looks like it could be a great documentary depending on how it's presented. If people get to see the real Mitt and realize their mistake from 2012, it could be very powerful.

I doubt this is going to change anybody's mind on voting for Mitt. I know enough about him and the Republican Party that I'd never want him as a President.

I know enough about both parties that I don't judge a candidate based on their party. Mitt is just a businessman that has the skills to turn around our economy. He's not a politician and that's why I liked him.

This is a ridiculous statement. I think a behind the scenes look will just show a more humanized side to him, we have no idea how he would have done as president. It is nice to be reminded though that these are people under immense pressure and scrutiny for years and I do feel for them.

I don't know if i'd describe someone who irons their clothes while wearing them as human.

It wasn't a mistake to vote against a man who couldn't stand by a single position. Countries aren't built on vulture capitalism and our economy doesn't need to be "turned around". The economy rebounded some time ago: the thing that needs to be turned around is this perverted view the United States has on its workers and how they should be treated/compensated.

This looks great, I literally was thinking about what ever happened to Romney after the election the other day. He practically vanished it felt like.

He's not a politician and that's why I liked him.

lol oh come on. What a ridiculous statement. One of the biggest reasons he lost was that he swerved so far to the right in the primaries in order to be R candidate that he couldn't steer back to center for the general election. He played the political game and he played it to win like any politician. If you can't see that, I'm not sure what to say.

Late january? Will watch. That presidential race was great, especially DailyShow/Colbert coverage.
Honest-to-god, if it wasn't for the Daily Show and Colbert Report, I'm not sure how much I would have gotten into the presidential election.

That's high praise to these shows and writers, but also I guess a bit sad on my part.

It's too bad he never actually said what those skills were.

also, do governors not count as politicians?
