Trust me, you don't wan't to go to Tropicana. What a shithole. Also, time is running out for the Fish, unless you mean at their new stadium.

Oh come on, it's not that bad! You remember going to RFK, right? That was a shithole!

Yes, they're both shitholes.

well that makes sense, still can't believe getting told to sit down though.. fucking hell i'd tell that usher and that coke drinking bastard suck it down.
I'm pretty sure my friends and I gave enough stink-eyes at that fatass and his whiny kids to make the devil blush.

Tropicana circa 2004 was great. Could clearly heckle to the batter from anywhere. One of my friends was telling me he went to a Mariners Rays game with this one guy giving Ibanez crap the entire game. Apparently this dude had more material than he knew what to do with and Ibanez finally gave him a dirty look in the 8th.

I took a quick nap and had a dream that the Steinbrenners purchased the Mets. Then when Hank was about to pull the cord on them, Hal showed up on Nitro and said he purchased them.

I don't remember RFK at all. Obviously didn't make much of an impression.

I'm pretty sure you were in DC with us, but maybe I'm mistaken. RFK was just plain old and disgusting. Even moreso than the Trop.

I was, I just don't remember the stadium. As I recall it was a shitty part of town. They were advertising the hell out of DC United, like that would do any good. Regardless, shittier than the Trop or not, it can't be any worse of a venue for actually watching the game.

We took like an hour long ride on the Metro, I think. I guess that's true. At least they still had some fans coming to the games.

This is an unfair dig and you know it.

Wrigley's probably Top 4 in attendance even in spite of that hilarious failure of a baseball team. Fucking hate Cubs game nights. Makes the commute home hell.

Out of curiosity, when is the last time you went to a Cubs game? I've never been to a park where so many people spend the majority of the game with their backs to the field.

Late August last year. Saturday day game and it was packed - rooftop seats included - despite the team being far out of contention.

It was the game we clobbered them 16-5. Game was exciting until we just tee'd off on their relievers in the 7th, so the crowd was into it all along.

Pretty soon should start up the MLB 11 Interest Thread in Community to determine who's interested in playing for teams, and then slotting said teams...

Last year's season thread

Due to the fact that custom rosters can now be used in online leagues, I think the league probably won't start until the end of April (last year officially started April 15th) to get the proper OS roster/minors... I plan to buy the game earlier than usual and run a bunch of sims with some OS guys to figure out slider tweaks. Some of them are easy (Solid Hits to 0 or 1) but the fielding ones change game to game. I'm already on the boards to check out what they're doing since most of those guys got in on that Target deal.

BTW LJ11, you in the league/commish again?

Not nearly as subtle as I thought that would be.

I was more puzzled by why you decided to randomly capitalize things before I caught on. But thank you, good sir.

Chase Utley had to have a cortisone shot in his knee because his tendonitis had not been healing as expected.

He may need knee surgery if the shots don't cause any improvement.

man ZIPs is friggin retarded. no jays starter will have an era <4? not to mention the playing time estimates are just.....tha fu?

Dom Brown also got hurt today, not that it matters, because Dom Brown is a total bust.

Damn that fucking sucks. Utley is a beast.

Ok, I'm in a 5x5 10 team league where we have a corner infielder spot as well. Just got offered this trade:

Pujols for Kinsler(who was my middle infielder, I have Pedroia starting at 2nd) and Morales(who was my corner infielder, I have Miguel Cabrera starting at 1st).

I'll have Miguel Cabrera and Pujols on the same team. /dance

Not sure I'll be able to do it Frank, but I'll definitely participate.

Hopefully we get the same group back for this season.

Bedard is looking great.

Can't wait till he has a healthy season and is traded for some good prospects.

3 IP 0H 1BB 6 K's so far this Spring.

Awesome, I hope we get a large variety of people/teams this year. Is this the year you finally take the Mets?

Can't wait. I wish we could've used the sliders from the league in regular online games too. Last year was my first experience playing the game online and doing anything in an online sports league and it was incredibly fun.

I'll definitely be rolling with the Tigers.
