The Twins have a lot of karmic payback to account for after almost a decade of having a lucky horseshoe wedged up their asses.

I will enjoy it all.

He had to regress. I have a hard time believing he was truly as bad as he was last year. I think he was rushed back from his appendectomy, and suffered the rest of the year.

My biggest surprise so far has to be the O's. Didn't think they had the pitching.

I still don't. There is no way Hammel and Arietta can keep pitching the way that they are. They are both about half a baserunner better per inning than their career averages and it's not like these are young guys finally finding their way. They've got a few years under their belts.

That said, they are still a shockingly good team. They've scored 16 more runs than the vaunted Tigers. Weird year so far.

If they were now pitching for the Cardinals, I could believe it. Duncan is a wizard. But for the Os, the good times will probably pass. I'm certainly rooting for them to shake up the big East at the end of the year.

He is single handedly carrying my fantasy teams offense. I wa hoping he would be better this year but he has blown my expectations away. My biggest surprise is the Phils are hanging around in the NL East, with Lee on the DL, no Utley or Howard, and most of the guys having down offensive years so far. I am amazed they are not like 10 games out by now.

Told you he'd be a good pick.

Jayson Werth broke his left wrist while making a sliding catch in the sixth inning and will likely be out, Manager Davey Johnson said, for a few months, dealing the Nationals another blow to their already injured roster.

Werth, the Nationals everyday right field who was enjoying a solid season so far, suffered a “clean break” of the wrist, Johnson said. Werth, whose career was almost derailed in 2005 he was hit by a pitch on the same wrist, will consult the same specialist who helped him recover from that injury to see where any ligaments were damaged or if there were further complications, a team spokesman said.

How crazy would it be if both Yanks n Red Sox missed the playoffs.

Would be great.

Obviously our pitching won't be this good all year, especially our bullpen. We have regulars with 0.00 era's still. But, Britton and Tillman are still rehabbing/in the minors and provide good depth if any of our starters completely crap out.

Our hitting is for real and Matt Weiters is the best catcher in the game, offensively and defensively. Adam Jones seems to have finally matured as a hitter and his defense is amazing, same with Markakis. Chris Davis is doing better then expected while JJ Hardy is doing what we paid him to do.

There are still huge holes in the team. Left field is pretty terrible without Reimold and he's constantly hurt. Andino is doing good right now, but he'll regress. Hopefully Roberts is back by then. Mark Reynolds continues to be an extremely streaky hitter. Betemit has been completely mediocre, as expected. Nick Johnson has been crap, as expected.

We are missing a good lead off hitter(that's what we are paying Brian Roberts $10,000,000 a year for!) and an ace pitcher. Kind of like a lot of teams. Our core hitting is very good while our pitching is mediocre and our bullpen is strong. We've won a lot of close games, I could see that swinging in the other direction mid-way through the year, but hopefully our pitching holds strong.

O's and Jay's repping the AL East in the playoffs would really be great to see. It was funny hearing Buster Olney talk about the AL East today, he said the Yankees and Rays are struggling due to injuries, and the Red Sox are struggling because they are not a good team. People in the media sure have turned fast on the Red Sox.

Rays are struggling? 2nd best record in baseball, 7-3 in their last 10 games. Guess they will just have to beat down the Yanks (which is a given) and Orioles (obviously the harder proposition) this week to change that narrative or something.

I am very grateful for the success of the O's, Jays and Rays this early in the season. Like mym said, this will benefit the game more than another red sox yankees wank fest in the playoffs. i do not want to see a nine inning game between them last longer than the game against the o's yesterday.

Just saw that Harper steal of home. Haha, Hamels you idiot.

Also just watch Werth get hurt. Can't believe he got up and tried to throw the ball. To his credit, it had more on it than any ball Juan Pierre has ever thrown.

Agreed. Cartoon bird > Ornithologically correct bird

The yanks not being in the playoffs would be horrendous for all of you. Stop lying yourselves.

They will never make the playoffs, they don't fully embrace it. They keep wearing that stupid "O's" cap at least a couple times a week.

So what's everyone's biggest surprise of the season so far?

One surprise that hasn't been mentioned yet is Oakland.

Oakland is hitting .213/.285/.334, dead last in baseball in AVG, OBP, SLG, and OPS, yet they're still a game over .500 because of their pitching (mainly their bullpen). Probably won't be able to keep it up unless they get alot more out of guys like Weeks and Crisp, but it's still a nice story.

This nats team can't catch a break. Morse and Werth out until June. At least Zimmerman is finally coming back. Ugh. We need that Werth bat.

Yeah, its scientific fact that teams don't do jack until after Showalter leaves.
Hopefully for his shitty hair cut
I thought you'd appreciate the redneck chic look. It's 'car parts on the lawn' in the front, 'moose strapped to my Ford Lightning' in the back.

good start for the white sox with getting a guy in via a sac fly in the first. Hopefully they can play good baseball and take both games of the double header to make some ground back up. It would be nice if they won both games the tigers lost and they went from 3 games out of first to tied for second 1 game out in one day. I can dream can't I :p

Shame Hafner can't play everyday, he's swinging as good as ever.

Thanks to the White Sox for the gift runs. Humber has been getting lit up every game since his perfect game.

it's not surprising, he is likely trying to hard to do it again, aka he is trying hard to be perfect again and when you do that you tend to get hit hard.

I hope the white sox get to the Indians pitcher in their next half as it's going to suck if the white sox have to burn their bullpen and the Indians don't on a double header day.

I hope Cole doesn't get suspended. We need all the pitching we can get. Of course, we'll get a lot of Natitude but screw the douchebag.

But it's the wrong messenger. Didn't Cole say he couldn't wait for the season to be over in the middle of the 09 WS? Pfft, talk about old school. But either way, cry moar, Natidudes.

so... win or lose thank you who ever argued for the allowance of a 26th play during double headers with the new bargaining agreement. The white sox 26th player Jose Quintana has totally saved the bullpen for the second game of the double header after humber's horrid star

Chuck

Still without luck
O's are playing great because of the logo change. It's the only way to explain it

All of our world series wins are when we've had the cartoon bird on the hat. And actually, in 1966 when we first put him on there, we actually won the pennant and our first world series that year.
