They couldn't even sell out their home opener?

So these people wait in line for hours and stand outside the stadium just to stare at Kruk's ass all night?

Did they count the fans who haven't reached shore yet?

Low blow.

Honestly, I like the stadium but the accessorizing is shit. They remove some of that garbage and it's a great looking park. Dimensions and walls suck ass too.

Can't be the only person who likes short walls, I like the possibility of a home run being robbed, not to mention hitting a blast only to get dicked by a wall.

Agreed. I didn't mind the dimensions at Citi or here but I can't see a reason for having high walls. They're stupid.

Puma and Molina look a bit thinner this season... or am I just making shit up?

Not sure, but Morrison looked much bigger, dude is a tank. Can probably play 5 tech in a 3-4....lol

Edit: They have him listed as 250, no fucking way. Find that hard to believe. Huge frame on that guy. Marlins site has him at 240, no chance.

Puma has been doing Holliday's workout routine, so he's probably lost some weight. Molina dropped about 15 lbs according to the local media reports.

never heard about the cat, apparently
SMH at all these clowns who think the Angels will win the division
the only thing i can see where the angels are better is their top three pitchers but i like the entire rangers rotation more. The race probably won't be that close.

Idiot racist comment.

Anyways, there's always people who don't make the game. Not every single seat is always full. The game was a complete sellout. It was close enough.

The attendance number is paid attendance. You could have walked up and bought a ticket to the first game at a new stadium at any time. That's pretty bad. There's no "close enough" for a sellout--if it's not sold out, it means the paid attendance is the maximum number of people who gave a fuck about seeing the game in the entire city.

Just got back from the park. Amazing stadium. The stadium food is awesome, had an excellent cuban sandwhich. The stadium is so great in person, the Clevander at field level in the outfield was a great way to end a baseball game with the Heat finishing up an amazing game. The slow marlins in the homerun celebration is redeemed by the cannons that go off and the size of the thing, and I'm surprised I'm saying something like that. Really don't like that thing overall when you consider it cost 2.5M of the city's art budget. It's going to take time to sell the seats but everyone there had a blast and we lost. Can only mean good things for Miami baseball fandom. This is not going to be a bust at all, the Heat game tonight was arguably for MVP and that Heat team has earned a soldout house. It's wednesday night, I'm surprised it wasn't an actual sellout but not disgusted.

Some neat things you guys might not have seen on TV.

-The huge Orange Bowl letters have been recreated and scattered across the outside entrance.
-They took the same organ from Pro Player.
-The Seafood race or w/e they called it. The Stone Crab won.
-Lady hangs from a chandelier and pours people wine upside down at the bar in the outfield.
-Bigscreen TV is a Trapezoid not a rectangle.
-Players are escorted by beautiful women when walking onto the field during the introductions.
-I'm sure they showed the Clevander with the pool. What's cool is it's open to every1 over 21 after the game. Definitely wearing a swimsuit next game I go to.

The style feels Miami, so they achieved what they were going for, I don't like the giant letters on the unis but the stadium is vibrant in a good way. It's my favorite stadium and I'm much more of NFL-NHL-NBA guy. Amazing how little it feels like a hangar when you consider there's a retractable roof. Those glass windows opening up make such impact.

Berkman knows what he's talking about. I didn't watch the game tonight, but from what I have read about the new stadium, it sounds more like they are trying to attract people to the park with a bunch of sideshows rather than relying on the team and the game of baseball.

that might be a problem if tonight is any indication.

Dats exactly what they are trying to do. Read article on ESPN Mag. They want to sell tickets by offering other things then baseball. Its like we have a pool, concerts, and nightclub and oh yea, a baseball game.

Since Miami is a dog shit baseball town, why is that a problem? Makes perfect sense to me.
