Just got back from the park. Amazing stadium. The stadium food is awesome, had an excellent cuban sandwhich. The stadium is so great in person, the Clevander at field level in the outfield was a great way to end a baseball game with the Heat finishing up an amazing game. The slow marlins in the homerun celebration is redeemed by the cannons that go off and the size of the thing, and I'm surprised I'm saying something like that. Really don't like that thing overall when you consider it cost 2.5M of the city's art budget. It's going to take time to sell the seats but everyone there had a blast and we lost. Can only mean good things for Miami baseball fandom. This is not going to be a bust at all, the Heat game tonight was arguably for MVP and that Heat team has earned a soldout house. It's wednesday night, I'm surprised it wasn't an actual sellout but not disgusted.
Some neat things you guys might not have seen on TV.
-The huge Orange Bowl letters have been recreated and scattered across the outside entrance.
-They took the same organ from Pro Player.
-The Seafood race or w/e they called it. The Stone Crab won.
-Lady hangs from a chandelier and pours people wine upside down at the bar in the outfield.
-Bigscreen TV is a Trapezoid not a rectangle.
-Players are escorted by beautiful women when walking onto the field during the introductions.
-I'm sure they showed the Clevander with the pool. What's cool is it's open to every1 over 21 after the game. Definitely wearing a swimsuit next game I go to.
The style feels Miami, so they achieved what they were going for, I don't like the giant letters on the unis but the stadium is vibrant in a good way. It's my favorite stadium and I'm much more of NFL-NHL-NBA guy. Amazing how little it feels like a hangar when you consider there's a retractable roof. Those glass windows opening up make such impact.
