Brett Lawrie drawing Gordon Beckham comparisons on the BP podcast. Ouch

As someone who predicted the Jays to finish only second to last, these fuckers better pick it up.

Cubs more likely than Blue Jays to make the playoffs.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
The expectations of the Reds is pretty high. Those bats better wake the fuck up. Too bad Votto has lost his power. I wonder if whoever made this list took that into account. Pitching can certainly get us there but the offense is so sporadic I don't think it will be enough.

And injuries the team is pretty frail so far this year.

The Card's bullpen has an ERA of 5.93; worst in MLB. Failures, all of them. Someone go find Isringhausen, he'd probably be an improvement over this lot.

I'd be shocked if the Jays somehow play .600 or better from here on out (the minimum if they even want to contend for a wildcard spot)...but on the other hand, the Red Sox playoffs expectancy chart from 2011:

2011_coolstats_s_BOS.jpg

On effectively wild this morning they concluded the Jays would have to play about .588 ball for the rest of the season, or a annualized pace of 95 wins over a full season. If you predicted they'd win 95 games this year, you still have some hope!

Scrabble sent down to AAA. Maness contract purchased.

Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.

I think they'll be fine. Bruce is hitting for zero power this year, and we have had some shitty injuries. When this team is fully healthy and clicking, they are the best team in the division. Offenses go into cold slumps all the time, but pitching will keep us in most games.

Votto hasn't lost his power either. hes slugging .463, and has had a better April this year than last.

Just want to announce Mets vs. Marlins PHENOMBALL is in a little over 4 hours. Set your DVR's, text your buds, phone your friends, send a mass e-mail, then mkae some popcorn and sit back for the show!

My final speech for my Public Speaking course is a persuasive one, and I decided to go full tilt and attempt to persuade my class that PEDs should be legalized. Not a lot of reputable sources I can find that can back my argument. Anyone here know of any pro-PEDs articles?

I did this a while ago, found it difficult to find something that wasn't solely argumental. I basically loaded up on references to notable players/events, and stood tall (Come at me, bro!) when it came to the question portion of the speech.

There was some kid from the class before who just rambled about how "it was bad" for as long as possible, so figured it would be easy to come with a counter-argument to pass the time.

I'm taking a Public Speaking course this semester and I was going to do my persuasive speech on why PEDs should be legalized as well but I ran into the same trouble you did. I just couldn't find enough good sources, so I switched it to why marijuana should be legalized, it was a lot easier.

Yankees to sign Hideki Matsui!

...to one day contract...
They should put his porn collection in monument park.

Rather have PEDs than marijuana!

Went to the M's game on Saturday night. Felix gets the win, and they actually played "Take On Me" when Morse came up with the bases loaded. So pretty much everything I could ask for at an M's game haha. Would've been better had he actually hit a bomb, but I'll take what I can get these days.

That's TWO in a row, M's. We win one tonight, that's called a winning streak.

the verge is reporting that mlb struck a new youtube deal
Major League Baseball and YouTube today announced a deeper partnership between both sides that will bring current-season highlights and archival footage to the video streaming site. Additionally, the new agreement allows baseball fans outside the US, Canada, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan to watch two live games each day during the regular season. Anyone that resides in those countries will need to stick to MLB.TV or cable to keep up with live action on the field, however.

Highlights of 2013 games will typically be available "a day or two" after they're played, according to a post at YouTube's Google+ page. "Tens of thousands of hours" of archived games dating back to 1952 will also be streamable, as will programming from Baseballs Best Classics and Best Moments. MLB Advanced Media first trialed the expanded content approach with a YouTube channel that was limited to viewers in Australia, Brazil, Japan, New Zealand and Russia. Now those offerings are being extended to users across the globe, though again, live video will only be available to those outside MLB's "core" video distribution territories.

Philip Humber has a 6.92 ERA in 18 starts since pitching his perfect game. He has more earned runs (71) that SO (63) since that game.

Heard a rumor on the radio earlier that the Jays held a players only meeting yesterday to discuss the bad vibes on the team.

Chicken sacrifices may not be far off.
