The Dodgers are terrible. Mattingly has to go. McGwire hasn't shown anything that would make you think he's worthwhile as a hitting coach.

I just saw the home run Angel Hernandez fucked up.

How does this fucking CUNT still have a job?
Theres tons of umps out there that should be drinking a pina colada instead of calling balls and strikes. It's getting bad
E: got me a Kemp collectors cup today. GFex loves them collectors cup..lol

LA having no baseball teams and no football teams would be kinda funny.

I figure Bud Selig will succeed Bud Selig in 2014, unless we are assuming he is dying sometime during the 2014 season. I figure he won't actually retire until he either dies. He will likely get another extension near the end of this season or start of next season for another 2-3 years.

also, obviously Ozzie Guillén should be the next commissioner of baseball. (P.S. i'm obviously kidding)

Who would get rid of the sissy DH rule? That should be the one who gets it.
I can't see the players union ever agreeing to get rid of the DH, to much money in it.

You mean who will apply it to both leagues?

I don't care either way, pros and cons to each, but it needs to be one rule.

Having a DH is a competitive advantage and a reason why AL clubs have an advantage over NL clubs.

If you get rid of the DH rosters should expand to 28 with 3 scratches each game (other starters)

Well I'm pretty sure the AL is never getting rid of it so an all-DH league is the only real possibility for a unified rule.

You'd have to kill me to get a DH spot into the National League. The NL is where the real men play ball.

I'm a fan of pitchers hitting myself, but I see the DH in the NL as an inevitability. It's eventually going to happen, it's only a matter of when.

I'll be right there with you complaining about it when it happens, but it's going to happen.

A few weeks ago, Selig reportedly turned down a 5-year contract extension to remain Commissioner through 2019. He would have been 85 years old at the end of it.

It seems he's serious finally about retiring after 2014.

Good! Any word on who are candidates to be the new Commish?

Also, just saw that Romero got dumped down to Buffalo (AAA).

Tony LaRussa has my vote for commish. Would be truly glorious when he not only removes the DH rules from the AL, but enacts a new ruling requiring all pitchers to bat in the 8th slot.

I'll be the first one to start the "thank you, basedtony" meme.
