Moana (Vaiana for EU bros) - Live-Action Teaser

Moana is a good film. I don't see the point of this, they could just put it back in the cinema if they wanted even more money from it.

Easier to earn more of a "loss" by making a new production.

Hollywood be:
Get a big pile of cash
Spend it on making a movie by paying themselves to make the movie
Release movie at a "loss"
Oh no, can't pay taxes on loss

Even the boring + pointless Moana 2 from last year made a shitload of money. They are going to milk this franchise for all it's worth.

On top of that, for something thats very straight forward and hard to fuck up, they'll still find a way to fuck this up like they did Lilo and Stitch.

Like making the heart the sea an actual villain instead of a heartless antagonist, or not including that shiny schafrillas tomato tomba guy (or butchering his song like they did to 'be prepared' in the lion king movie)

They'll probably add like a 45 minute subplot telling Maui's origin story.

They should do something similar for moana pozzi aswell.

she's the reason Moana is called Vaiana in Europe btw.
both due to the connotations of having the same name as a porn star, and because she actually had that name registered as a trademark.

I'll just take this opportunity to recommend Chief of War. The best show I've seen this year and for quite some time.

Zero diversity, sadly I'll have to pass on this one.
There were some blonde kids in the beginning, bet they get cooked and eaten with the comment "Yum, tastes like vanilla!" :P

Unpopular opinion but I thought the original Moana is pretty unremarkable and probably one of the weakest movies Disney has redone in live action. There's like two characters for 90% of the film.

Water graphics were great in that movie. Also the rock.

Why keep doing this? I know why but it seems like a practice with diminishing returns.
Oddly, these live-action remakes are very on and off, Snow White was a disaster, but the Lilo & Stitch live-action made over a billion at the box office and was a massive success.

Even more unpopular opinion, grown men watching these films is a huge red flag and it's fucking creepy. My daughter doesn't even watch this shit, it cringes her out too much, and she's 14.

I thought GAF would like this :p

I don't really get these Live-Action versions when over 90% is CGI again lol

I'm beginning to wonder if they will make Toy Story into Live-Action with only the humans being real while the rest remain CGI.

Disney is really desperate.

Will people PLEASE STOP with the nonsense!

It's not "live-action". It's CGI animation.

I don't understand why that term is increasing in usage for realistic CGI. It's lies!

well, there are real actors in it. that's why it's "live action"

it's essentially the reverse of Who framed Roger Rabbit, where real sets are filled with a few animated characters.
here, fully animated environments are filled with a few real actors.

It looks like the animated film but cheaper and less magical.

Yup, I don't get the point of live action adaptations.
You take beautiful 3D/2D animation that's visually cohesive and full of charm and character, then replace it with soulless realistic CG and make it visually clash with some real actors who are very clearly on green screen for 90% of the movie

I'd say this was more of a Rock idea/vanity project before Disney agreed.
Was looking up to see if it was the same actress but the original actress said she'd let someone else step in and give another young actor a chance.
She's still only 24 while the new actress is 18 so no reason she couldn't still play the role.
I doubt the Rock would do the same and give someone else a chance.
