Instead of everyone having to go out and buy Wii Speaks. :D

Yeah seriously. There's far better chat solutions than WiiSpeak out there. Personally, myself and the group I'll be playing with will all be Skype'ing while we play.

Ooo, I didn't know about this. Is this an American deal?
Ehhhhhhh....

Eeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh!?

Isn't picking that Wii Speak box while you're in the shop buying Monster Hunter Tri much easier than having to communicate on the PC first so everyone gets in the TS or Vent server (maybe even installing software), leaving the PC on, trying to make sure you have a mic that leads from the PC to your couch, just far enough so you can play on the TV? Not to mention all those with Wii Speak are gonna curse at you for being stubborn.

It's not easier, at all. At all! Not making sense :O

man oh man, I hope Wii-speak opens up a whole new level of MH strategy. Teaming up in the past was all about no communication and just keeping an eye on your brothers hoping you guys were all on the same page.

Yeah, this is one of the things I'm very excited about, so I'm quite unhappy that some people are suggesting to use a different solution when the voice system is right there under their noses. The very last thing I want to see are people saying I should join this or that channel on my PC while I'm playing MH3 behind my TV. I would seriously be like: WTF, are you for real? Actually, I would just shout it through my Wii Speak then xD

I'm not trying to ignore Wii Speak support (thanks Capcom!), it's just PC chat will be easier for me. I have a pre-order group and some are getting Wii Speak because they don't have a Wii and PC in the same room.

And of course, my mom don't have to listen my friends saying shitty things, Nintendo has to know that they have 18yo+ fans too. :/

You're almost like... pro friend codes with that statement. Capcom provides real online... people suddenly want friend code anonymity :lol

You guys.. xD

Don't make me hate you ._.

Its too bad Canada only has the CCPro bundle and not the Wii Speak bundle. Wii Speak is $30 here at every retailer. Newegg.com may have it for $10 but Newegg.ca has it for $30 too. I hate Newegg.ca, it's got terrible pricing and offers nothing that NCIX or Canada Computers wasn't already offering.

We will be playing together before you know. :D

I went to my local Gamestop to grab the demo, but the lady at the counter said I had to preorder the game in order to get it. I thought they were just giving away demos and the preorder bonus was 500 Wii points.

What about a wireless headset? There is such a thing I'm sure... isn't there?

Nope. Either Wii speak, or keyboard time. Im looking forward to finally using wii speak...the thing has been sitting on my sensor bar since Animal Crossing.

Can you talk to random people? My hopes for playing games with my "group of friends" ended when I bought several copies of L4D as christmas gifts and we have yet to play a game together...

My PC is right next to my PC so yeah... lol

I expect not many have Wii speak. And I don't think North America gets the Wii Speak MH bundle.

Yeah its 100% free, the Capcom rep on the blog and in the demo trailer said so. I'll see whats up tomorrow.

EDIT: I'd think the majority of people would use wii speak, however its hard enough to get people to use headsets on 360 and those come bundled with the system.

People should definitely call their local GameStops. We got our demos today too.

Yeah, you're suppose to give them away. She was probably just making an assumption, the demos were sent with basically zero instructions. Every other demo offer that's been sent to GameStop in the past couple of years have been preorder-only, so it's not unreasonable to make that assumption.

Wii Speak is a lot better than a headset because you don't have to wear the thing and everybody in the room can use it as one.

Also, it's incredibly cheap now since only three games so far use it.

Hell yeah. Monster Hunter 3 time tomorrow evening. Does the demo have an online mode?

EDIT: You can get the demo mailed to you via the MH community site if you can wait.

Im afraid i dont understand. Do you like pass the controller around in your online gaming sessions to friends? Ive always preferred a head set so that other dont hear what some anonymous people online are saying. But to each his own. Gonna try and grab the demo disc ASAP.

True, a headset would be preferred, but I doubt MH3 is going to draw the crowd of people who you wouldn't want others to hear. Its all about teamwork here, so Wiispeak should be ok.

I guess when the time comes, people will have to indicate wiispeak or keyboard. I just hope those without wii speak can hear those with it. And im sure there will be some sort of mute/on-off function.

Yup. But only in the United States and Canada. Europe and Australia don't get it.
I could see myself calling gamestop tomorrow and the fucking retards saying Uhhh what's a monster hunter? Wait lemme look in mah computer...no I'm not seeing any demo disc...would you like to pre order?
Sorry for the comment, I'm just mad when I called them and asked if they had any gameboy micros, towards where the lady looked at me with this blank stare and just said uhhh no

Just picked up my demo disc from Gamestop. They checked to make sure I had pre-ordered before they would give me one. Didn't have time to question it. Had to get home quick due to the snow and worsening road conditions...

Just called...I'm in Ontario and the lady said with regards to the demo disc...she's heard of plans but nothing on her system so she's not saying for sure then went on to say the game is coming out April 6:/

So are you guys saying that if I want to get this, I'm probably going to have to pre-order it? Even though I shouldn't have to?

And don't say "argue it", because the people at my local GameStop freak the hell out of me. Seriously, thought one time the manager was going to stab me in the neck.

That's Gamestop for you. Full of people who are absolutely clueless about the products they sell.

I preordered the game today only to find out from my local gamestop that I'm not supposed to get the card or demo until I pick up the final game.

:|

Look, I get the whole points deal- (much as it sucks- I basically have to wait until April to get MM10 now or waste the points card as there is nothing else I want on Wiiware) they don't want to give me something of value for free until it's impossible for me to cancel my preorder, but, seriously, what the hell is the logic behind not giving me the demo until I have the full game? :lol

After spending an hour in the demo, I want the full game...

The Qurupeco even called out a Rathian! Of course this noob didn't stand a chance against the two of them... :lol

Okay, just want to be clear for anybody having an issue with GameStop on receiving their demos.

IF a GameStop employee is not letting you have the demo, it's because they're making an actually reasonable assumption. Every other demo that's gone through the store in the past couple of years has required that you preorder the game in advance. They have no documentation that lets them know that this demo is free to distribute.

If a GameStop employee is giving you trouble, first thing is that you might try is showing them a print-out of the Capcom Unity blog clarifying that the demo is free to distribute.

http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/blog/2010/02/24/monster_hunter_tri_demo__pre-order_clarification

Second, try asking to speak with the District Manager. If the manager at the GameStop doesn't relent at the mere threat of having the District Manager get on their ass, talking to the DM should get the job done.

Why not just put down the $5 minimum pre-order charge and get it back if you don't like the demo if you have to pay?

That reminds me of how back in the day Gamestop (or maybe it was EB before they were bought out?) used to give out pre-order swag as soon as you put down the $5. Give 'em $5, you get the swag. Go in next week and swap the $5 to another pre-order with bonus swag, and you get that swag too. Repeat until you got a room full of crap with no games to show for it.

Not that I made a habit of doing this... :D

Wait, I thought that the demo wasn't going to be available until the 8th. I'm confused.

Do all of the Gamestops have them now, or just some of them?

Quite possibly it's a mistake. "Ironbeard McCullough's" Facebook page pretty much indicates that it's not supposed to be released until the 8th. He even termed my getting it a "mixup"...

Linky and linky...

You can play this very quest by getting yourself the demo at GameStop. The demo will be in stores for free on March 8th, but there's rumors of a few stores having them available now! Call your GameStop to see if they have it.

Well 50 50 chance tomorrow.
