Monster Hunter 3 Tri Official Site Updated

This I completely agree with. Especially given all the people that play in Japan.

I REALLY don't understand why other games haven't copied it in all the years that have passed since PSO. It was such a simple but incredibly effective idea. So many people dismiss the game as a Diablo clone, but it had so many brilliant ideas, and creating a global community that could communicate properly with each other was one of them.

In the PSO days the Japanese welcomed you, as long as you were polite and were there to play it properly. They'd drop rare items for you from the Japanese quests, and because of how fanatical they were about the game over there, they'd end up taking you to hidden areas (I will NEVER forget being led through the waterfall in ruins for the first time to the hidden bit), you'd learn new techniques for fighting bosses etc.

It was such a memorable experience. PLEASE Capcom, copy this from PSO! Because Sega seem to have forgotten they ever did it ...

I made 2 official MH threads with lots of gameplay info and try to bump it whenever it's possible to get more people interested in MH but in the end very little people post in it and it gets constantly buried because you guys don't give a fucking shit about it.

The only MH related thread that gets the most posts is the MH3 Wii fiasco because you guys are gloating over the power of the franchise therefore it will adds up to your Wii E-penis while not interested in the game at all.

Ok,I finally don't mind it being on Wii because this is Capcom therefore MHP3 is inevitable, but now you guys are interested in the game don't even bother looking up videos or info on how it's being played but instead make up on it's gonna play like pokemon or DQ when it clearly isn't(I can understand this since DQ and pokemon are capable to reach over 2 million therefore assuming MH is similar to those 2), you will burn yourself badly over this because it isn't what you imagine it will be and wrongfully insult the game.

Now those who bitch about no lock on is those who play the game a few mins/hours and not used to the difficulty despite multiple warnings of steep learning curves,to make it laughable is that those who never even touch the game are offering ridiculous ideas into game. It's like me offering the idea of another race in Starcraft and get my head bitten off by the Starcraft community because it will lose the magic, same thing here applies. I'll bite your fucking head off if you suggest anything stupid. Error explain better on why lock on is a bad thing. It's no longer MH but a FFXII clone

I'll just hope that if you guys are interested in this game, you all should do your research before you burn yourself badly just because it has nice graphics and 2 million sales potential. What we love about monster hunter is about the gameplay but not the graphics.

holy fuck this game looks amazing. if you can actually explore all of the places shown in the trailer (and its not just fmv/cg scene crap) then it will be helluva game.

Famitsu cover. Thanks to Netto-kun!:D

I ordered this from Play Asia, but they say it hasn't been 'released' yet. Are they normally that late with their Famitsu shipments?

Of course you can but in different locations. Which means you can only explore 1 location during a quest. And the each location is broken up into many areas.

You reminded me of my PSO days again:( I spent 1000 hours on that bloody game and till today I think its time well spent. The chat system is simply the best even till today where technology had advanced so much. But I am 100% sure Capcom won't implement it in MH3 Tri:(

If am not wrong, I think they are usually late by a week for Famitsu.

I guess this is why nintendo get capcom to develop MH3 "exclusively " for the wii, to generate fanboy hype and sales.

when you said"The only MH related thread that gets the most posts is the MH3 Wii fiasco because you guys are gloating over the power of the franchise therefore it will adds up to your Wii E-penis while not interested in the game at all."

Is it not great that people are staring to notice MH?
yes there are people who are gloating over the power of the franchise therefore it will adds up to their Wii E-penis.
Still These people might try the game and even like it for what is it.
This will increase sales outside japan and capcom might even have bigger budget doe the next moster hunter.
More people trying the game = more sales = BIgger $= better game next time.

And when you said "What we love about monster hunter is about the gameplay but not the graphics."
Then there is no reason for it to go HD(ps3) if wii improve its gameplay(we will see about that)?

PS, i tried mhp on psp and is it not my cup of tea ( i hate MMO like game and worst ,none of my friend play the game :( )
But i am wiling to buy the wii version is there is online bulid in (ie no xlink or wathever you call that) and to support good game from capcom(and to show third parties that GOOD games do sell on the wii) .

PSS SORRY IF I OFFENDED ANY ONE ! Really sorry.

Jeez man, don't treat the 2 like mutually exclusive items. Nobody here has any qualms with the game looking as good as it can be. The people you're argueing with play it on the PSP right now. I'm waiting for TGS before I say anymore, to see what the Wii specific elements will do for the franchise. It really better be fucking special.

MH is already noticed by it's 2 million sales in japan,if MH1,MHF,MHF2 didn't even do well in the US,what makes you think MH3 will help them one bit? Just because it's on the Wii? IMHO,Capcom put it on Wii because of Japan and Japan only.

And when you said "What we love about monster hunter is about the gameplay but not the graphics."

Yes,we will see about that before we can argue this out,Like Spindoc said,it has to be really fucking special that the Wii could do to improve unlike HD consoles

PS, i tried mhp on psp and is it not my cup of tea ( i hate MMO like game and worst ,none of my friend play the game :( )
But i am wiling to buy the wii version is there is online bulid in (ie no xlink or wathever you call that) Ironic,If you didn't even like it because it's a MMO like game then it's no difference you will enjoy this game even there is online.

Blah,I don't wanna argue back, this is getting nowhere and will soon reach to banworthy phase if this keeps on.

It's PSO all over again!

If the game is good (and it will be) then who cares if it's not a 'proper' MMO! I'd be happy to pay a nominal monthly fee to see the game fully supported, regular new content etc.

And it also means the community will have less wankers in it = more satisfying online play.

The PSO community was AMAZING, I still miss those days. And a lot of the idiots who weren't really into the game were happy to just bitch on forums about the tiny monthly fee and leave the rest of us who loved the game to enjoy it. I easily got my money's worth out of PSO, and then some!

I'd rather have proper online support and a REAL community, than have to resort to hacks to play against a small number of hardcore players.

I literally can't wait for MH3, fees or not. The game looks BEAUTIFUL.
If you have to pay a fee, count me out. Paying a fee doesn't mean you will have less wankers only. You will have less of everything. Wankers can be found everywhere, just go and play some WoW and see how many wankers you can find in there.

Forcing people to pay a fee would kill all the interest I might have in the game.

Hey what i mean is if there is online i can get defeat some monster as some monster are too %^&8 hard to beat alone :P
I dun like mmo as most mmo required you to defeat monster or boss as a group, u cannot do it alone.
I am hopeing that MH3 can be online so that if i am stuck in any places i can ask for help online even if my friend are not playing the game locally like MHP.
After that i can continue my offline player single player play online (hopefully).
Oh and i hope this is my last post here LOL sorry my English suck:P

You cannot Xlink with console's Monster Hunter(s) as it got its own dedicated server. MH3 will be the same irregardless of versions.

It depends, for Japan, most likely you will got to pay and from my past experience, I never encounter any wankers in MH. US side most likely it will be free so no worries on this but there might be wankers:P

Ha,all the quests be it online or offline is soloable,it's just a matter of skill and patience. I managed to reach HR6 by myself in MHF2.

Dude, work on your reading comprehension skills, big time. No one ever claimed that this plays like DQ (only the guy making fun of you, which you didn't even notice :lol ). And it has been stated numerous times but a camera lock-on doesn't take away the ability to aim freely or target different areas, is it so hard to wrap your head around that? I for one was not discussing whether implementing a camera lock-on feature would be good or not, just refuting your idea that such a feature would take away free aim and targeting specific areas.

Again, it may be dependant on the game, not the monthly fee. You have to pay a monthly fee to play Live, but you still get your good share of douchebags in there. WoW, and other MMOs share the same fate.

It's not about the money, it's about the kind of game. Probably it has to do with the fact that MH is a co-operative game, not a deathmatch. People know that they need help from other players, and thus they act accordingly. Probably douchebags don't like co-operative games that much.

Again, I won't accept a monthly fee. If they force me to pay, then I'm out.

Just realized that the hunter in the above pic is using Small Sword and shield. This confirmed that you are able to use close range weapons underwater. Wondering how are you going to attack with them while swimming? Interesting.

I know that since yesterday but I'm just using it as an example. And I understand your point for the camera discussion, but I already stated in my previous post that you will not be able to see what going on outside of the lock on camera regardless it doesn't affect the ability to aim or not.

Let me tell you this by saying that MH is nothing like WoW or any MMO when it comes to CO OP or douchebag.

So can someone explain the usual monster hunter control scheme to me? I have a feeling the camera is going to be controlled by IR in this game.

My english sure is not very good, but your reading comprehension is even worse.

I'm not comparing MH to a MMO gameplay-wise, but telling how monthly fees won't make wankers go away. If there're not many wankers and douchebags in MH is not because any monhly fee.

I was replying to your second paragraph. Besides why would douchebags buy the game anyway if they don't like Co-op games anyway?

That's my whole point. Someone mentioned how monthly fees would let the online experience be more peacefull, with less douchebags. I was replying to him, arguing that monthly fees ae not what will prevent douchebags from playing the game, but the type of game itself, which relies heavily on the co-op experience when played online.

I am rather skeptical about the actual "fun" of fighting under water. It should be fun to explore under water though.

PES Wii? Wow that I honestly got to said that the Wii version is the best, nothing can change my thoughts on that game even MH3:D

It's almost a certainty that the online part of this game is NOT going to be free. The best you may have is a local split-screen multiplayer. Of course you can always solo.

But...it didn't happen, how can it be an example? Regarding the camera, I just saw the same argument pop up again and again. If there are other gameplay reasons (and if you fight multiple enemies/monsters lock-on is problematic) I'm perfectly fine with it and I'm not suggesting Capcom should use it anyway.

That is one of the unsolved mysteries of online gaming.

Will there be? If player 2 join local co op,would that person get the same armor/weapon as the Player 1 or the less powerful weapon or the basic weapon? It's not feasible.

While I think there's a good possibility the online will be free, offline co-op is just as possible. Why is it not feasible? PSO had it for the NGC (4 player). Just have your own char. I don't see how it is any different.

Nah, in PSO you could use the same character from single player in co-op, so everyone selected their own save file (you can even use 4 different memory cards). After selecting the chars, the game starts with everyone in town. Only player 1 could choose the quest and when everyone has joined in the warp, the quest could be started. It was a really fun game for it's time.

Isn't the Wiimote capable of storing game data? Perhaps they could do it that way.. not that it would really be useful for many people.

Am I the only one dreaming that someone will steal Capcom's entire TGS booth using helicopters and a rogue crane, so that the playable demo gets leaked?

There really isn't enough memory on the Wiimote to store much of anything.

I seriously don't think there will be local split-screen multiplayer. They never implement it in Monster Hunter, Moster Hunter G, Monster Hunter 2 Dos and Monster Hunter Frontier so I doubt they will do it in this.

Wait this isn't an adventure game? That sucks. Learning that its similar to PSO just made my interest in the game drop completely.

Whichever medications the doctors have prescribed to you take it because you've been acting like one of the most annoying jasses in all of GAF in this topic. Not only is your comprehension all out of whack but your bias has blinded you to the fact that all of the attention MH3 is now recieving on the Wii is a GOOD thing and could only result in better sales in the west a market the franchise has done terrible in up until now. If you really were a fan of the series and not just a fan of the series on Sony platforms then you would stop being such a dick when you reply to people who are obviously interested in playing tri because right now you are scaring people off with your insanely defensive and nonsensical rambling. Or maybe that is your intention? Either way you need to calm yourself and reply with respect and not malicious discontent because of a platform switch.

Anyway. The game looks gorgeous and after watching nearly an hour of videos on the first 2 and reading in the interview all of the improvements they are working on I have decided that this is definitely the game for me. +1
