A month later and I finally got a good 4 hours in today with 2 of my friends. Playing this with friends makes this game super easy. Got from HR 6 to HR7. It sucks how much they gimped Akantor gear though, I had 1/2 the equip for a full set/sword, but the equipment just sucks now...so im not even bothering.

is "bad luck" really that bad? i want dragon windpress for daora etc, but if i go the gypceros U route, i'll have negative fate until i can do heavy metal jewels. does mega/ultra lucky cat or making the pig happy negate it?
edit: went ahead and got it so i have a drgn windpress set (also replaces my faint negate set). i'll just gem it when i end up getting to g rank cham.

It's nice to have, but it's more of a secondary skill when it comes down to hunting. As you get better you won't be getting hit too often so a lot of the time it goes unused. However, it ain't bad to take if you wanna learn a monster or wanna get more bang for your buck, sort of speck, from your potions or if the set comes with it.
Immunizers and fishes will give you a similar effect and should maybe be used instead so you can get the more important skills.

What I got was an earlier art book/figure set it was only like 15 pages, and would come with a figure to assemble.
this second set has a teo, cats, a striped blue pig, yian garuga, blagonga pack, and lao shan lung. They are as good quality as the complete wyvern sets (the small mytery figure in a box japanese toys)

finally got my kut ku armor set 
along the way managed to get full hermitaur set to use with my gunlance and crafted Rex Slicers from tigrex parts I got using a hacked cat from one of the gamefaqs savefiles. had to hit the cat several times just to get it to fallow me to where tigrex spawns(popo tongue quest). Dismissed it though cause it was a pain in the ass.
btw anyone have custom monster hunter playgear pocket skins(psp phat)?

I tried the 4* one where you have to fight a Daimyo Hermitaur, Tigrex and Plesioth(Desert Triumverate or something) in 1 mission and it wasnt too bad. Beat Daimyo easily but it took me most of the match to kill the Tigrex and when I finally did I only had 5 minutes or so for the Plesioth and I just ran out of time.

Oh wow, that's really awesome. I think I'm going to see if I can order the books online thought; they look like they'll make great coffee table books.

I think they are trying to promote the whole franchise because monster hunter 3 was just released for the wii in Japan and when the third game hits US and possibly EU retail next year they are hoping people will get into it.
The success the third one has had in Japan is unbelivable hell the whole MH franchise has been really successfull over there.

maaaan... finally killed g-rank black gravios.
only had 2 seconds left. i was just swinging wildly at that point hoping he'd die since he was limping and had a minute 30 left at that point.
used up all my potions, as well as supplied.
then proceeded to carve 3 heavenly gravios shells. which i don't really have a use for. i need rathalos, lao shan, shen gaoren, naruga heavenlies, but gravios? eh... not really.
low light of the mission was i had him trapped and getting ready to unleash a level 3 gs charge but my damn cat bombed me out of it.
need just need tigrex to get ukanlos urgent....

Oh man what a busy weekend.
Did a little bit of monster hunting. On the g-rank Basarios mission I was able to down 4 basarios using my new bow/armor, thanks Radd Spencer!!!. It is so easy with a good pierce bow. Charge up, 2nd charge Pierce Lvl5, and guts. Was awesome.
Also did my first Fatalis ever last night. Unlocked it unknowingly so I figured why not give him a shot.
Still working for the Heavenly Rathian Scale for my dragon hunting horn. Got some Chameleos farming to do with that bad boy.

Died first 2 rounds but figured out how to give him a thrashing using the LS and a few barrel bombs with no real issues. I HATE armor mode when he enrages. Wow, it feels like he gets at least 75% more armor. Narga set with ESP, Evade 2, and evade distance made the fight very easy.
