LOL! Whoever designed that bundle pack clearly has never played or seen anything about the series in their lives (cue the Inafune comment about how Capcom are run by people who know nothing about games...)
Not going to happen. Personally I have given up on getting 3rd.Infinite Justice said:Just bring over Portable 3rd instead plz.

MHFU has everything from MHF2 and more, MHF1 has some different mechanics and not as much content. You basically have the best version of MH outside of an import.Zaraki_Kenpachi said:Are any of the other Monster Hunters available in Europe for PSP worth playing? Then I got 2 of the actual goldenfish, and of course that's when the big boss thing invaded the area. So my time ran out right as I was getting my 3rd one. What an annoying quest! But I am sure I'll come right back to it to make proper bait and get it done much faster.
I just got this game the other day! It's pretty hard for me, and I die a lot. Is there any real story, or do I just keep doing hunts that get harder and harder?
Maybe I don't understand how this game works but is it like Ragnarok Odyssey? Where there's like certain time limits to do quests and each area is broken up into little areas?
I always thought the game was open world lol.
yeah really annoying, almost impossible, quest if you don't make the bait. vita sounds good though, the sole reason i was going to buy one was for the monhun games i already have. but alas various life stuff came up that ate all my vita money so it's going to have to wait a few months.
Yeah the guild quests are the ones that raise your hunter rank, there are certain quests that will get you the HR urgent. To go from HR1 - HR2 its the guild 3* that you need to do. You can skip the 1* and 2* and come back to them, although 1* does have a rathalos and rathian quests that are pretty simple that will help you get the hang of those monsters, rewards aren't great but its an easy way to get parts for those better armors.I've played like 6-7 hours of this game in the last 2 days because of the camera being manageable to me now. I basically made do on my Go, but it definitely had its moments where it was frustrating because the camera was pointed in a shitty direction. Now on Vita it's such a fluid experience. And that's not to mention that the bigger screen and bilinear filtering make it look so much better too.
I didn't realize you could skip quests, either. I thought you had to do them all to get your HR up. I've somehow spent like 30 hours in this game just playing the first couple sets of the villager lady's missions and doing the training over and over to see what weapons I like. And of course, grinding for things to make armor. I didn't even start doing guild missions until recently lol

If you have any questions drop me a PM. I have put over 1k hours between MHF2 and MHFU so I am always happy to lend some pointers or advice.
Thanks
I think I've compared this game to Demon's Souls before, and just like the Souls games I can tell I'll have to keep checking a wiki and asking people for help on forums. The only thing I don't like about this game is that it's keeping me from Vita stuff haha
Are the hit boxes on Tigrex all messed up or is it just me?![]()
Just you, what kind of weapon do you use? I recommend hammer or great sword. Are the hit boxes on Tigrex all messed up or is it just me?![]()

You know what I hate? I have such a huge backlog, and I'm still tempted to pick this up on Vita.
You could charge attack Tigrex all day, if the raw damage of your GS is good enough. What in particular that troubles you?
I GS Tigrex after each of his attacks, positioning myself at the left side of tail - start charging when the tail flicks and release then attack when he turns to face you. Roll away or block and repeat.
You're probably too close, just position yourself near the end of the tail.
You can also charge attack near his left paw... When he runs at you, with practice you'll be able to roll under his armpit (w/o evade).

Picked this up on PSN for Vita... now I don't play Vita games
Up to elder 2* urgent now. What's the point of hunter rank and should I not bother with guild quests until I finish elder stuff?
There are some monsters that only show up in elder and some that only show up in Guild, so keep that in mind too. Also as HR increases so does the quality of the rewards which increase the quality of your gear. While it is fun to clear out the elders in high rank gear its also fun to do the elder quests with gear that is on par for that elder *.
So is the long sword a good weapon for a beginner? I kinda like it because it's big like the great-sword, but faster, and the size of it gives me a certain margin of error with my attacks, so that I'm not totally screwed over if I miss or anything.
I would say the best for a beginner is Sword and Shield. You can block (no blocking for LS), use items when blocking as well. High elemental affinities, and its fast. Chaining combos is pretty simple for an SNS user.
Hunter Rank allows you to open up a new tier of missions (indicated by the *) to do (with newer/tougher monsters and upgrades of earilier ones).
Guild quests is where the fun is since that is when you can party up with other people to hunt monsters, etc (you can still attempt to solo them if you want). The elder stuff is basically a tutorial of sorts to prepare you for the guild quests so you could do them first to get a hang of the game or get some friends and go for the guild quests. Its up to you really

Also: Are helmets suuuuuuppppeeeeer necessary? I kinda like my guy's flowing blue animu hair.
My problem with sword and shield was it didn't have much reach, but I suppose I can give it a shot again.

Yes it does reduce the length but with the added ability to block. Usually you will end up under the monster's legs just slashing away at them to trip them up, while blocking as they turn.
Hammers are great (I mainly use Hammers or GunLances) for stunlocking monsters. Bash that head a few times and stun it.
Like I have said many times there are certain weapons that make certain monsters easier. LGB or Bow for Plessy, Hammers for Ian and Los, SnS for Kirin. GS for Tigrex if you can get your timing down.
Don't feel limited to one weapon, all are fun. Also if you are more comfortable with LS over SnS don't make me change you. heh
This should be law (though Plessy is suppsoedly fixed in 3G now).
