Monster Hunter Rise PC Launch Trailer

Added new Filters feature:

So they actually did a HD Texture pack. Still didn't look great, but a huge improvement from the switch textures.

I'm so fucking ready to play this at 60+ FPS. I mentioned in the OT earlier, but all post launch content from the Switch version is going to be in the PC version from release, which is awesome.

Now all we need is a mod that removes Rampage and it's all I wanted.

Yeah it's a lot nicer to look at. And seriously? Thank you, Capcom and then we also get the expansion simultaneous.

Can you pause in this?

After playing through Dark Souls 1 I told myself I'll never play a single player game again where you can't pause. It's why I didn't bother with MH: World.

I'd like to play it at 60fps, but I don't have time to start from scratch when I have 200+ hours on the switch. Should have made it cross-save.

This is gonna be what saves me from a month of excruciating wait for horizon 2.

Like someone said, if we can mod out the fucking rampage it's even better.

Shitty launch trailer tbh. Showing off filters, lol. For Switch it was ace.

I guess the next epic one will be for the Sunbreak expansion this summer or some big planned updated/monster addition before then if there's anything.

the graphics make me weep after MHW, but...it`s another 7 weeks till HFW and Elden Ring.
Let`s see how long I can play the new LoL season before I cave and buy this game anyways.....

She ain't much to look at, but it plays really well, even better at 60FPS. Have you tried the demo?

Won't be double dipping, but it's a great game. I wish it was coming to other consoles as my PS4 buddies from World would love it.

Probably because most people are double dipping or know of Rise and were waiting so it's more about PC features. Sunbreak won't have to go through this at least with simultaneous launch.

I put more hours in the demo that i did in Mile Morales entire campain, the graphics are not amazing, BUT in 4k@60 this game really shines imo

Same, I would if it came out in PS4/5 and it had crossave, I wont lose all those hours I put in to this just for sake of better "graphics". Rise run pretty well on switch even having bunch of giant Monsters on screen.
Whats the better game? Monster Hunter Rise or MH World?
That entirely depend on your taste, I personally prefer Rise over World, both from gameplay and visuals.

World's got a better story, better environments, biomes, and atmosphere, better graphics, and a bunch of mod support on PC.

Rise has more movement and traversal options, flashier moves, more diverse cast of monsters (which will only get better with Sunbreak), and is a mix of classic MH and World as far as online modes. And it doesn't have the Handler (the worst questgiver in the series IMO). But it also has Rampage (a tower defense type mode) which breaks up the flow of the game and is an absolute chore to play.

Having played several hundred hours of MHW and close to 100 hours in Rise I would absolutely call Rise the best installment in the series. Where MHW brought so many quality of life enhancements to the game, Rise took a step even further and made mobility far more enjoyable than it's ever been before.

As far as complete package MHW has way more meat on the bone especially with an expansion already out however one of the most impressive things I've found with Rise is the Online gameplay teaming up with a friend who plays it, doing everything on wifi with my Switch and may encounter a disconnect once or twice a full day of gaming which is actually superior to the stability in MHW either console or PC.

I would highly recommend either but Rise especially with expansion coming out this summer seems to offer the best amount of fun.

Don't think I'll be double dipping though as I've put so much time into gem farming at this point to start over just isn't happening.

Agree 100% on Rampage it's just lame, do it as minimally as possible and forget it exists. Thankfully other than a few story moments it's something you only have to do 3-5 times

Just in case anyone is considering it, 17% discount on gmg, activates on Steam, and you get the bonus preorder content. Best deal I've found if you want it at release.

Will skip this until sunbreak I guess.
Played the demo and just felt..."small". I pretty much quit playing MHW after fatalis, because nothing else felt like it would stack up.
I also miss the clutch claw for slamming monsters into things/other monsters, and easy hammer to face access.
Didn't really like how the wirebug is now the main way to mount monsters or the low frequency of turf wars.

I'll get it eventually cause it's still MH, but I feel the real deal is going to be MHW2

Whats the better game? Monster Hunter Rise or MH World?

This one's tough because right now before Rise gets Sunbreak it's really unfair.

If you are objectively looking at both games right now as they are, then Monster Hunter World is the clear winner, especially with Iceborn.

One of the main things is that rise's wire bug mechanic trivialised alot of fights, essentially they give weapons that used to be balanced with low mobility such as lance, Great Sword and to a lesser extent hammer massive amounts of on demand mobility.... they also give every weapon with Good mobility even better mobility, and broken special attacks. It is by far the easiest MH has ever been.

Rise also does not include any varient of monster species apart from one you unlock at HR 100... which the game does not include the regular version of so... its such a weird decision... essentially if one version of a monster is in Rise that's all your getting, minor but sucks.

Rampage mission exist which everyone universally hates, eventually you can unlock rampage monsters outside of the stupid TD missions with special hunts and they reward you with effectively nothing because the rampage weapon sucks and they have no armour sets (?!?!?!)

In many ways I feel world is the better balanced game, and with icebrone attached it just uttely dominates Rise in included content and activities. However Rise does show it learned some lessons from its predecessor, the issue is what it takes away kind of sucks more than what it improves on. For example sure I like the fact you can see other players in the village and not just the Hunter Hall now and that there is no longer a "player must view cutscene" before you can join them, however they have returned to splitting singleplayer missions and Hunter Hall missions... meaning if you have a crew day one, if you want your canteen etc upgraded you will need to solo until all of those are done. The horrific
Gem grind has been replaced by the horrific accessory grind and slightly less horrific perfect buddy grind...

The story also just sucks in Rise and the new monsters kind of suck too outside of Magnamarshmallow. Sure World ain't Shakespeare but it certainly feels more natural, Rise has the better guild handlers for sure though.

Overall its all opinion of course but what I really looking forward too is seeing how Sunbreaker mixes it all up. I really want to see other varients of monsters make a return and perhaps the semblance of a challange in Master Rank, either way both games are fantastic just I lean more heavily on Worlds more challenging fights and larger breath of content and activities.

wouldnt be surprised if theres some jimmy rigged way to get the save over emerges

they figured it out for MHW and Dragons Dogma

Dragon's dogma and MHW both ran on MTF2.x
Fluffyquack figured out the DD save transfer, but it was broken until I figured out what was wrong with it (pawns needed to be cleared out of the save file), after that it was still kinda broken (UR dragon stuff), but yeah it mostly works.
MHW transfer only worked from the ps4 version, because getting access to the save meant having a jailbroken ps4, and the tool stopped working with iceborne iirc, they changed the savefile format.

MHR runs on RE engine, and even though it has been modded by fluffyquack and such, afaik there's been no save file transfer tools yet; heck I'm pretty sure RE Engine saves also have some kind of region locking.

Whats the better game? Monster Hunter Rise or MH World?
Depends if you want a far more linear and basic hunt or if you want all the bells and whistles of an hunter experience.

It seems like a stupid distinction but it really is a fundamental difference, for example world was probably the game where i probably have more hours EVER, but i don't see doing nothing more than the campaign in rise because it feel and looks like a cheap basic version of world, something stripped by all the elements that make world special to me.

And the opposite is also true for people who just want to hunt dino-mofos without anything in the middle.

That's because by and large Bo, I think you may be a guy who likes cutting edge graphics "flashyness" over art direction?
That's fine but for me MHR's great art direction overrides any negatives I may get from a low Res texture here or there or a blocky looking silhouette of a distant mountain range.
Not saying your view is wrong just that people have different tastes :)

The gameplay loop felt great to me in MHR. It was my first Monster Hunter game and I must have 150+ hours on it now.

Not really just graphics, the gameplay looks pretty rough and outdated. Due to the hype, wanted to pick it up but when I see the gameplay it simply stirs me away. Even though it's available for free with the PS Plus Collection I didn't bother to download it.

Monster Hunter gameplay is always one of those things that looks bad until it "clicks" with you. It's more about proper spacing, timing, recovery etc. Kinda more of a chess match or a dance with a monster than just a hack 'n slash title like DMC or Bayo. That said, this game is more forgiving with combat than any other MH.

The demo is out there, this is honestly a series that you can't really understand just by watching let's plays or youtuber videos.

Might give the one included in the PS Plus Collection a shot, but doubt I'd like it. But it's ok, not every "good" game should fit my preference. Persona 5 is considered a masterpiece by some but it nearly made me puke within few minutes.

The gameplay has to click.

I was disgusted after briefly trying the psp version many years ago and the first 3-4 tries with the world demo, but something clicked.

But do you know when it really actually clicked? After like 300+ hours when i finally got from being good at action games to being good at monster hunter.

It play like no other game but when you master this game, stuff like gow or even from games are child play in comparison.
No lock on or perfect evade with a button here, like i said i had to play this thing for hundreds of hours to learn positioning and to think how the monster think.

More capable people probably need far less time.
