'Monster Hunter Wilds' popularity is despite emphasis on story.

This producer is clueless. He doesn't have a clue about what makes the game so popular. And now he's in charge of all the Capcom games, can you believe it?

They have to praise the story, couse they spent probably a good ton of money in it.
Yes, the story was not good, like really bad. Even for a MH game

I can't really comment on this. I've been skipping every single cutscene and dialogue, and based on everyone's reactions to the story, I'm content with my choice.

Lol, absolutely not.
I'm sat here watching the credits, stupefied as to how catastrophically bad the story was.
I just wanted it to end.
I could of scribbled that story on a napkin in 10 mins.
Blehhh.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Not sure if it's "story" or how reportedly easier and accessible the game is compared to previous entries.

Making an accessible, easy to get into for newbie, entries goes a long way to introduce a new crowd to your game.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st.
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

MH Wilds is my first entry into the series. The story is fucking aids and listening to all these boring characters is an absolute snooze fest.

That said the combat and core mechanics are so good that I'm pushing through the shitty campaign so I can get to the actual game.

Right, it must be the amazing story or the flawless technological execution that makes this game sell..........

Holy shit. I can only hope that this is out of context clickbait.

They should include a stat for how many people skipped the cutscenes. I skipped all of them, the story was much more tolerable then, as it was basically a tutorial.

I've always been somewhat disappointed by stories in Japanese games and always chalked it up to a cultural lens. What do Japanese people think of the game, I'm curious?

More like people just rush through the story to get it out of the way.

The story is extremely meh and only gets somewhat interesting after the credits roll.

Just got to HR 40. The story is shit, I'm fine skipping most of the dialog as it doesn't last very long and I can get straight to the next hunt.
