International video game giant Ubisoft plans to announce the creation of 100 jobs in Saguenay on Tuesday, according to multiple sources.

The cofounder and CEO of the French company, Yves Guillemot, is scheduled to be on-site to announce the details of the plan to grow the business in Quebec. He will be accompanied by Quebec finance minister Carlos Leitao.

The company plans to invest more than $100 million in Saguenay, according to the newspaper Le Progrès.

The Quebec government offers a tax credit that subsidizes up to 37.5 per cent of salaries paid to technical staff working on video games. It's intended to encourage job creation in the industry.

Quebec's video game industry employs around 11,000 people. Ubisoft currently employs around 3,000 people in the Montreal region.
