More random GAF GBA Micro price speculation.

oh that's a steal.

Ah but that's the trick. We offer all this at such a great price, but leave out that one very minor (possibly major) detail that you won't realize until it's too late.

What the hell is Play Yan? =_=;

I'd pay $200 if it came with Shantae Advanced. God. Damn. It!

Play Yan is the thang that lets you play media files on your GBA.

Fuck. Do I have a couple of GBAs, 2 SPs, and even 1 DS?

Yes.

Do I need another GBA iteration, particularly a dated one?

No.

Will I buy the GB Micro when it hits?

*hangs head* Yes...

Yeah, don't feel bad. Nintendo got me for a GBA, which I traded in towards the promise of a screen I could see. The GBA Service Pack was okay, but still not perfect.

I should know better. . .

But I like the software, and I hope like hell this time Nintendo gets the screen right so that I can see it perfectly in any lighting condition. >:|

Didn't Nintendo say the Micro costs more than the SP to manufacture? So that means the Micro costs Nintendo 22 bucks to manufacture while the SP costs them 20! :D

I say $99.99 for the Micro.

SP drop to $50? No way! :lol SP may go to $79.99 but I doubt it'll go much lower at the moment.

I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think the Micro will be cheaper than the SP, especially if it comes with Play-yan. Just because it's smaller doesn't mean it's cheaper to produce.

SP may go to $79.99 but I doubt it'll go much lower at the moment

SP has been at $79.99 for months now.

I think you'll be setting yourself up to disappointment if you think the Micro will come with Play Yan. That's something they would have announced at E3, I think.

Btw, when is the Micro due to hit?

I predict a $99 price point as well. It's the comfortability threshold for new Nintendo handheld hardware iterations (say that three times fast).

$80 is my give-in-and-buy-it threshold, just like it was for the SP.

George Harrison said they were considering it in a Gamespot interview during (or right after) E3.

I read that. I'm not convinced.

$50 is a bit of a stretch but it is an excellent fit for the system. If, and that is a big if, it comes with the play-yan, I would easily pay more but it just doesn't seem likely that they would do that.

My guess would be $79.99 and then drop the SP's price to ~$60

I think it'll come in somewhere between $79-$99...

If the SP has a price drop, it will be more likely around the $79 pricepoint I think...

The E3 GBA-Micro girls said they asking E3 goers around what price they'd is acceptable for the product and $99 was kind of a consensus of what most would be willing to pay...

but the Nintendo execs are saying "very competitive" so who knows, maybe it'll have the same price as SP...

for GBA to survive after the ds .... it shouldn't be more the $50 bucks, fuck if the sp is more it shouldn't be....the GBA is last gen and the prices need to show it. if the price is more than $60 bucks than nintendo is just milking it...... fuck if nindento priced it at $39 bucks the GBA games would be back in business......

I know a lot of people that will be doing the same thing.

MCV last week talked to Nintendo about all things E3.

About the micro, they said it would be priced between the SP and the DS, with the SP having a price cut to make room.

So it'll probably come in at the same price as the current SP

I think we'll see SP drop $20 (to $59.99) and Micro move in at it's old price ($79.99). No play-Yan bundle either, though I bet it'll get a full release too (for like $29.99 or something).

I bet we see DS and PSP price drop as well this fall (with PSP dropping the "value pack" in favor of a "core pack"). I'm betting $199.99 for PSP and $129.99 for DS.

The Micro will be smaller, sleeker, and sexier, and it costs MORE to make, how the hell are some of you figuring it will hit $50? Smaller sexier versions of things cost MORE. I'd say anywhere from 79-99, with a price drop on the SP to 49-59.

$69.99, with SP dropping to $59.99.

If SP is lower, I'd get another one of those over a Micro.

i dont see the sp price moving

49.99 for the micro

the micro isnt really an upgrade so i doubt itl be more than the sp.

Sorry, but you are in denial if you think they are going to launch it cheaper than a SP.

If you think so, please believe me, you are wrong.

It has a considerably smaller LCD. If anything, it's a downgrade. And as portable as it looks, one of the things I really like about my SP is its ability to protect its screen. I don't want to de-sexify a device with a goofy looking carrying case, which the Micro will require if you don't plan on scratching the crap out of the screen.

I agree. The main reason I'm excited about the GB Micro is that it will likely drive the cost of an SP down, so that maybe I can pick up a new color or one to use for Four Swords or something.

it doesnt make any sense

no regular gb support

smaller screen

no flip top whatchamacallit

the form might be smaller, but it doesnt cost them any more to produce it. It will be less.

Yes but miniaturizing technology costs more! The screen may be smaller, but it has the same resolution as the normal GBA screen. Denser pixels = expensive! Smaller processor = expensive! Smaller, more efficient battery = expensive!

I don't understand why people aren't aware of this. Look at the iPod mini vs. the normal iPod. The cost per gigabyte is significantly less with a regular iPod than the iPod mini. That's because iPod mini's smaller 1" hard drive is damned expensive!

are you sure the processor is smaller? are you sure the battery is denser and its not just because the system is using less power?

But the screen is brighter and nicer, plus they have to cram all the workings into a much smaller space which costs more.
