Has Playstation ever released any good news this generation?
For me, only three: Stellar Blade, Astrobot and Death stranding 2 are the silver linings. Anyway if price increase, it is what it is, that is why I work and love my job to earn for me, my family and extra for gaming.

Didn't they just increase the prices 2 weeks ago? Microsoft is literally the last of the 3 to raise their prices in the last month so I can't see Sony doing another one so soon unless is specific to the US.

It will only apply to new games, right? Right?

Please don't fuck with my sale prices or I will just get a Steam Deck and play older shit, indies and retro games.

Going by the prices of the Sony Steam games It would seem Sony is already going the Nintendo route by having a high starting price and never get a discount.

After the Microsoft news today and perhaps this, Nintendo are about to be vindicated.

If they are doing 90 euro games in europe I am done playing those games day one.
I did this since the end of the last gen .. let me tell you ... is fucking great.

- better value
- less bugs
- perfomance enhanced
- more content.

Aside some handful of games you will 100% play a better version at less cost.

Not quite going back to the SNES/Genesis generation of the early 1990s. Quite a few games sold at launch for $70-$90. Particularly RPGs. That would be $140-$180 today. PS1 and PS2 gens were great because game prices dropped significantly.

Good.

Higher game prices should equal more risky (creative, interesting, new experiences) projects being able to get developed.

If anyone wonders why we don't have much creativity in games coming out of the big development houses compared to back in the '80s and '90s and even early 2000's it's because AAA development costs have gone up over 500x while game prices have barely increased at all.

Nope, if anything, it's the complete opposite - if you think that creativity has gone stale with 100m-200m budgets, wait till those budgets double up, devs will play it even more safe then.
