What's the most addictive console game/series to you? not including MMORPGs.

For me personally, I would have to say Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

One of the few games where I can start at 4pm and before even realizing it turned dark, check the time and it'll be 2am.

Probably Metroid (2D) or Final Fantasy series.

Online games of all kinds qualify as way addictive as well because of the social ange.

Nothing on this earth would compel me to play Animal Crossing for hours on end. I have, however, gone without sleep to play any number of RPGs.

Number one on the addictivometer for me still has to be Angband and its variants (most notably ZAngband) or Elite. If I had control of my own playing/sleeping patterns when Elite was released rather than being constrained by school hours I dread to think what would have happened.

Halo and PSO, but more-so PSO.

Even though Halo was offline and singleplayer, I still played it SO FUCKING MUCH. Exploring the levels didn't seem to get old and trying out new weapon combos and such was great.

A good game of any stripe can get me playing it obsessively. But in terms of titles that I fall back to (and don't even intend to), these can suck me in for hours, days, etc. until I realize that whatever their relative faults critically...there is something addictive about them. Right now or recently that would be:

Socom II - which was mainly about meeting up with familiar players every night. Then it got glitchy and cheater filled and I had no more desire to boot it up.

MVP Baseball - I love baseball. But maybe even more than baseball I love a good baseball game. It's hard for me to play just one game. Sometimes....I even....just sim games. I don't know what's wrong with me.

Forza Motorsports / GT4 - I say I don't like these games as much as some others before they come out but then I just get in kicks where I play, play, play. Forza even more so in the brief time I've had it because it's sooo much more user friendly interface wise and has the added bonus of online play and designing cars. So much waiting and loading in GT4 can pull me out of the experience at times.

Seconded! I just got into this series and it eats hours like nothing else. 8 is the first game I've played in years that makes time pass without me realizing it. Bring on X!
