Just because there's not much else on the system, it doesn't automatically make me look past it's faults.

This is correct.dark10x said:They nailed the core gameplay and track designs, but the game was lacking in content, used a terrible GUI, and needed tweaked AI. The concepts are incredible, but the end result needed work.

Will it have better looking mud tracks though?!TTP said:yep. It was basically a proof of concept. Real deal will be Motorstorm 2.

pswii60 said:The first game, despite its problems, is definitely what I would call "exhilarating". I just want to see them take that to a whole new level in the sequel, in new environments etc.

I'm still bitter about my launch purchase. :lol
Ello said:The thing that ruined Motorstorm for me was those damn long load times. Took forever to get into a race, even worse in the online.
If they fix those things in Motorstorm 2 and have more tracks and not only desert tracks it will be the best racer ever.
But 3 mil is a really impressive numbers

I can pretend Excite Truck is like Motorstorm since I hate fun vehicle physics, I like shitty graphics and I only have a wii.

Still, good numbers. We can't say that much with PS3 games. And a sequel with some actual content would be kickass. As far as I've played, there's no other racers out there that can match this game in the graphics category.
le.phat said:would a burnout paradise set up work for motorstorm 2 ? may not as stretched out, but with all kinds of ramps, tunnels, cracks, and mountains... maybe have a sort of run down prospector's town as the main hub ?
Uh...Kittonwy said:It's still the best offroad arcade racing game out there.

Elbrain said:Holy shit 3mill! That is freaking awesome for this game and hopefully they can use the freaking funds to add more freaking environments. Would have loved sandstorms and rain in the first one.

evolution have a touring car simualtor for the british touring car drivers, maybe this becomes a psn game, or a full touring car game?
motorstorm 2 needs
-25 tracks in different parts of the world to add variety
-a whole host of offline features
-better ai, the first game is too easy
-total camera control for ingame and replay
-screen shot capture button for offline and online modes
-better online play, worldwide - motorstorm has only had about 250 people online at any time when i've connected in europe
-custom soundtracks
-get rid of the shitty dust effect when the sun hits it
-better ui
for me to buy it.

GeoramA said:Impressive for a new IP racer. Is MS2 using the same engine?
It should be pretty far along now, at least enough for an unveiling at GDC...unless GI got the exclusive.
J-Rzez said:Well, since they've been acquired by Sony, hopefully Evolution can work on the rest of the game that was really lacking. The vehicle selection screen was absolutely horrid. And the UI for event selection and stuff, i'm sorry, was laughable. I'm still not going to expect GT levels of refinement in the UI, but the vehicle select screen I expect them to fix. The game otherwise looked, and specifically, played great though. One of the most pure fun games this gen. Superb audio as well. And, they supported the game nicely with a good bit of DLC for the game.
Because how soon of a follow up, I'd maybe expect them to just really iron out the bugs. I'm not sure how much they could change in that period of time. Then again, it was just those "bugs" that kinda brought down the fist one slightly.

It's one of the hardest racing game outhere. I guess it's rare you buy a racing game.
