MotorStorm has sold 3 million copies? :o

Good work! More more for MS2!

Excuse me? Sorry, I'm multiplatform and it's just nothing special like it's hyped up to be.
Just because there's not much else on the system, it doesn't automatically make me look past it's faults.

Who said anything about multiplating or anything?

Fix your controller.. its clearly not working

They nailed the core gameplay and track designs, but the game was lacking in content, used a terrible GUI, and needed tweaked AI. The concepts are incredible, but the end result needed work.

This is correct.

yep. It was basically a proof of concept. Real deal will be Motorstorm 2.

Will it have better looking mud tracks though?!

Absolutely. For a launch title, it was an impressive techical achievement (or should I say "accomplishment"?). And it still is. I'm expecting a huge jump for Motorstorm 2 and more variety in the environments (not just deserts).

wrc is dead

evolution have a touring car simualtor for the british touring car drivers, maybe this becomes a psn game, or a full touring car game?

motorstorm 2 needs

-25 tracks in different parts of the world to add variety
-a whole host of offline features
-better ai, the first game is too easy
-total camera control for ingame and replay
-screen shot capture button for offline and online modes
-better online play, worldwide - motorstorm has only had about 250 people online at any time when i've connected in europe
-custom soundtracks
-get rid of the shitty dust effect when the sun hits it
-better ui

for me to buy it.

Would be great. A WRC game with the Motorstorm technology would look and play amazing !

i don't think Sony renew WRC licence ( alongside with F1 licence ) since there is no new WRC games for two years now i guess it's not with SCE/Evolution anymore , maybe FIA want to go multi with or something with both WRC and F1 .

anyway Evolution Studios don't need WRC licence anymore they should focus on MotorStorm and new IP/Racing games for the next three or four years ( same thing with studio liverpool )

The first game, despite its problems, is definitely what I would call "exhilarating". I just want to see them take that to a whole new level in the sequel, in new environments etc.

Same here. Love the feeling of the races. Like a rat race with nitro, and mud.

Or, you know, not even the best offroad racing game this generation.

Excite Truck is like Motorstorm, only fun.

The thing that ruined Motorstorm for me was those damn long load times. Took forever to get into a race, even worse in the online.

If they fix those things in Motorstorm 2 and have more tracks and not only desert tracks it will be the best racer ever.

But 3 mil is a really impressive numbers

The online needed a lot of work, the racing itself was awesome. I'm so used to the awesome online that is Resistance it made everything else online seem unplayable, except for maybe Burnout Paradise.

Damn WRC was great for the two first games but then they lost momentum. Would love to see Evolution make a PS3 version.

And Motorstorm 2 better have jungle levels!

I can pretend Excite Truck is like Motorstorm since I hate fun vehicle physics, I like shitty graphics and I only have a wii.

Fixed.

This has to include bundles.

Still, good numbers. We can't say that much with PS3 games. And a sequel with some actual content would be kickass. As far as I've played, there's no other racers out there that can match this game in the graphics category.

:lol you shot youself

would a burnout paradise set up work for motorstorm 2 ? may not as stretched out, but with all kinds of ramps, tunnels, cracks, and mountains... maybe have a sort of run down prospector's town as the main hub ?

Even with BS photomodes. :lol

It could but they would have to make A LOT of content. ALOT. Burnout Paradise is HUGE.

If you look hard enough you can find MotorStorm for less than $20 now (GameCentre in Toronto, for example, has used copies for $19.95). At that price it's a must buy for PS3 owners who are even just slightly into racers. Single player is a little weak, but it's got decent online and is fun to play. Plus, as a pack-in, it's sure to have a big online community until the sequel comes out.

Holy shit 3mill! That is freaking awesome for this game and hopefully they can use the freaking funds to add more freaking environments. Would have loved sandstorms and rain in the first one.

Rain and snow would be awesome in this game.

Impressive for a new IP racer. Is MS2 using the same engine?

It should be pretty far along now, at least enough for an unveiling at GDC...unless GI got the exclusive.

It's one of the hardest racing game outhere. I guess it's rare you buy a racing game.

Well, since they've been acquired by Sony, hopefully Evolution can work on the rest of the game that was really lacking. The vehicle selection screen was absolutely horrid. And the UI for event selection and stuff, i'm sorry, was laughable. I'm still not going to expect GT levels of refinement in the UI, but the vehicle select screen I expect them to fix. The game otherwise looked, and specifically, played great though. One of the most pure fun games this gen. Superb audio as well. And, they supported the game nicely with a good bit of DLC for the game.

Because how soon of a follow up, I'd maybe expect them to just really iron out the bugs. I'm not sure how much they could change in that period of time. Then again, it was just those "bugs" that kinda brought down the fist one slightly.

I think the engine will simply evolve over time as they add more features, it's already very robust though, considering it's got everything from HDR/tone-mapping to self-shadowing to mud effects.

:lol at Kittonwy.

Going by the demos, Revo is pretty lame compared to Awesomestorm. But fun on its own ground. Lulz at the Excitetruck comparison.

And yeah, weather effects are a MUST in MS2.

Cutting down on the load times and improving on the online interface alone would add a ton of playability, although I expect them to have quite a bit of content this time around.
