So for the title, MCV didn't have an interview cancelled...they were just told up front that there were not going to be any.

That sounds like the same thing from GI.biz, was it confirmed they had a interview scheduled?

Doesn't bode well for what they're likely to say.

I do wonder if the only interviews they're giving are to people who will "play ball".

I'm pretty sure he referenced attending Microsoft's roundtable on this week's Bombcast, when discussing their schedule for next week. So it was so unimportant, but he planned on attending anyway? OK.

That's not "bad" press...that's just stupid press. They literally weren't informing anyone about anything, just cracking jokes the whole time. Seems like they are the farthest thing from unbiased just by reading that. Haven't heard about them until today so can't really comment with any solidarity however...just basing it off those pics.

You guys realize that most of the people you claim to have "bias" were pround owners of an Xbox 360 and loved the platform, right? Most people who are against Xbox One on these forums and in the press aren't some anti-Xbox herd that has always existed (though some probably were). They're for the most part a group of people who enjoyed the 360 who are looking at Microsoft's new direction and they're digging their heels into the dirt and gnashing their teeth in protest.

I really can't understand why people are upset. MS are delivering bucketloads. The Xbone truly is the greatest surveillance device ever.

Maybe they learned at least ONE lesson throughout this process and that is to get all your ducks in a row and limit the amount of interviews and the amount of people responding to questions so each answer doesn't contradict the previous one and confuse people even more. If they had just a few guys spouting the PR nonsense instead of 20, they might be able to spin it to a positive without still giving the real information. Basically, if you don't give the press a chance to ask the hard questions and report on it, maybe they'll have less negativity overall and get more people to buy the console that didn't hear about the negatives. If the press was all over it, more and more people would be aware of some of the problems.

Either that or they know journalists (not Polygon) will be pressed to ask tough questions and get some clarification on some of the E3 news. Maybe they expect a lot of bad press?

I suppose it's number one or both, but it'd be funny if the only lesson they got out of all of this is that they need to be more consistent with their PR spin instead of actually realizing that some of their policies are only hurting them. 1 out of 100 lessons has to be a success for a company acting arrogant though.

A better plan would have been to design a console and a series of policies that wouldn't garner such hatred and backlash in the first place.
