Oh god I feel your pain OP.

The worst is when you creep her out by accident. Its a bit like when I tracked down a Twitch Streamers real identity by cross referencing her screenname to a cache of her xanga blog on 2005 where she was wearing a wrestling sweatshirt from her junior high. After making a few 300 dollar offers on local forums it was pretty easy to get a copy of her yearbook from that year and her picture/name. Turns out she didn't have a facebook but her mom did and luckily I had set up an account for my aunt a year earlier which she stopped using after her divorce. All I had to do was post agreeable replies to comments her mom made on facebook forums, mostly to do with murder trials and it was simple to get her to accept my friend request. Her moms profile was a goldmine of pictures of my crush and really gave me a better picture of who she really was. When she came back on twitch she broke down in the middle of a hearthstone game and started crying her eyes out and I knew right away it was because her childhood pet cat had died and I without thinking said "peach was a beautiful cat and had a great life, I'm sure she's at peace now" and she immediately froze with that look women get and said "how the fuck do you know that, who are you?" before logging off and she hasn't been on since. Her mom even deleted all her pics off facebook (thank god I saved them all.) Just goes to show how even if you're not a creep you can still freak out a woman if you're not careful.

Man I hope this isn't a copypasta.

Good stuff, I hope it's all fiction but it sounds too plausible to be fake.

"So I was at this wedding, and my weird 18 yo cousin\uncle tries to make out with me." I feel so bad for her. i'd be excited to see you too, in a very public space.

Man I hope this isn't a copypasta.

It's CornBurrito, this is her gift. :p

My first girlfriend was at 17 and we dated four years. Around two years in I had a roadtrip with a crush (brothers wifes niece) and wanted to make a move. I spent two hours on the phone with my girlfriend breaking up. Minutes later I tried to kiss my crush and got rejected bad. The next few days were awkward.

My girlfriend and I got back together the next day.

My crush greeted me years later at a mall excited to see me.

Im awkward and weird sometimes. Life is akward and weird sometimes. We move on.

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
So what was the original title? I'm curious, since the OP was upset about the change.

huh? her mom is so protective, it's so annoying to read this...
it was probably her mom that stopped her from playing online. that's too bad... it seems like she was into you. she's probably thinking this guy understands me.
you should try to find out where she lives and wait for her on the front porch. maybe that might makes things better.

Days like these...

Have a Blessed Day
Forget the fact that he's nearly a niece in law fucker. He dumped his gf of 2 years (over the phone no less) to try and get with his niece and then went back to his gf after he got rejected by his not blood relative.

Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes, dude. I know that internet anonymity is empowering, but you need start working on your ability to self-reflect more, because you won't find sympathy even with strangers. You can accept your weirdness with the added risk of getting it rejected by the people you share with, or you start using your noodle a little more and fucking figure out how this life thing really works. You can only move on after you are held to accountability on the choices you make after all.

There are no L's to be had. Googling and looking at someone's social media is a very good indicator of who they are. If you are even slightly interested in a person then it is almost required for you to take a peek at their social media

There is nothing dumb about it and perhaps you should stop tripping over publicly available information.

Yeah okay brehs. I mean, don't bother trying to convince me. The thirsty ass "everyone does it" is an overreach. Not everyone does that shit, and a lot of people find it weird. And no, its not 'required' to facebook research randoms at your job or every date you go on. There are people making it in life without doing so. So hold your own actions and stop trying to spread the shit behind the "Everyone does it" nonsense.

For all these people who say social media stalking is totally ok, here's what you do when you want to check the social media presence of someone you are interested in:

You: Hey, do you have an instagram/Facebook/Snapchat/Twitter account?
Them: Yeah, search ________.
You: Cool, thanks. I'm gonna add you.

Then you check out their stuff. That's the normal way.
