Man, that human tail is real gross. Not sure what kind of power that's meant to give him. Suppose it'd hurt if you got hit by it, but it also looks like a weak point.

So the recommended heroes were fire/ice guy, long ponytail girl, and two more right? Falcon seems like he has a power that would get him recommended, but who's the last one?

Just a part of his costume. He just has a very strong tail.

The hair around the chest is just a design of his hero costume

OK. I thought it was a hidden frontal tail =P

Still, that feels underwhelming compared to some of the other heroes. Though it seems that he might have some martial arts background based on his costume.

Actually, it seems a good number of them have some rather limited powers. Makes standing up to some of the more powerful classmates seem impossible.

Tokoyami may be my favorite dude class-mate. He's so great.

Too bad it seems us anime watchers won't find out why he's so loved.

It looks pretty thick and meaty. I bet it has a lot of weight behind it when swung and can be used to do some neat maneuvers or tricks.

Though he better watch out for short Italian plumbers as they have a tenancy to grab tails and throw their owners into bombs.

The tail itself is the power. It can essentially be used as a very powerful third arm. This makes Ojiro basically the martial arts guy.

Well, they can't, really. Not all heroes are created equal, not in terms of power at any rate. Still doesn't stop them from being great heroes, just means that in a stand-up fight some of 'em are gonna be hopelessly outclassed.

With this talk about his tail being a powerful third arm and such, and looking at that concept art for a length reference... why didn't he lunge it at ice-heat guy when he was walking right next to him as though he was a badass? He didn't even make use of his single unique element!

She also happens to have one of the coolest supehero names in the series, Alien Queen, which is a big plus in my book.
That, she's thick. I like thick girls.

Both Mina & Fumikage (Jet-Black Hero) are my favourite heroes in the series, both in design & power set, so you can imagine that I'm happy they are getting more coverage in this adaptation. I wonder how much input the creator has with working with Bones for this adaptation?
Mah man.

Because the dude has just frozen the entire building and at that point you just have to accept how outclassed you are.

Screw that I'm a hero villain. I'd tear my soles off (well, with the knowledge that there's miracle nurse) and fight. He's a martial artist guy, right? Without having extensive knowledge of ice-heat, I'd at least wager my ability in hand-to-hand combat. Unless the tail guy has a cowardly disposition or something.

It's kinda reinforced by the other guys, upon Deku's return, saying that they had to give their 110% to match what he did, and that'd mean pushing yourself to your limits. Guess I might be too picky here, but it's a bit weird.

This was the first time they saw him using his quirk seriously, it was just to overwhelming. Even Bakugou admitted he was outclassed.

Stunned in the moment... Sure, I can buy that. You're right, freezing an entire building like it's nothing would probably leave me pretty awestruck, and then I'm disadvantaged face-to-face with the dude who did it. Then again, the protag definitely wouldn't have settled there, if only because of his attitude.

Great episode, got to see the rest of the cast alot more (although I wish they gave more screen time past the 2nd battle, I really did want to see the Tsuyu and Tokoyami team.)

I like Bakugou being different, a constant recognized asshole, I just hope he doesn't stay the same entirely. Doesn't really have to involve him becoming more likable, but I just don't want him to just be the exact same dude throughout

Cause at that point it's GG. Dude just needs to move a little away after getting 1 good sucker punch

Really, it would only be sorta spiteful, no point to it anymore

The student who had extra limbs which he could grow body parts on was an interesting power. I hope we see him get more play later in the series, anime or otherwise.

cool episode. didn't remember bakugou being that upset about losing

and def don't remember All Might trying to comfort him

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
While the design is cool the giant exposed brain seems like such a glaring weakness for a close range fighter based on the opening.

I was really surprised when his power seemed to be shadow/darkness related. I thought he was hiding a bird-like body with wings underneath his cloak.

Can someone explain this dude to me? His design is kinda confusing me. What's up with the giant puff of fur coming out of his chest?

I kept cringing during that scene. Why the hell is he still so attached to him? I bet this leak is going to backfire enormously later. So many ways it could go wrong, even without malicious intent for Kacchan.
tokoyami is great because he is a deliberate parody of the moody emo edgy character but is still infinitely likeable.

His name even contains the characters for "darkness" and "shadow", he's the best bird bro though!

Deku's just doing a combination of self-protection and being nice by trying to explain to Bakugou that he wasn't being a douche and hiding his quirk. That stops Bakugou from being a douche to him for the rest of time, you saw how angry he got from believing that Deku lied.

That scene was incredibly cringe in the manga too. Deku isn't particularly smart.

More like naive in that particular case. I mean, it's obvious Deku didn't know what the hell to say to Bakugou despite feeling guilty or bad in some way. So it sounds like Deku is just spouting nonsense. Even Bakugou was like, "The fuck are you talking about?"

I dont understand what people found cringeworthy in that scene? Why wouldn't you want to speak to your best friend after facing him in such an intense struggle. And then the last Midoriya saw was the look of pure horror and shock on Bakugo's face.

Despite the flashbacks and emotional scenes that have lead Deku to believe he can now achieve his dream, giving him the conviction and courage he has sought, it's not the best thing to then see him constantly avert his gaze and suck up to someone who, for all intents and purposes, is a self-absorbed asshole who doesn't actually deserve that kind of treatment.

But other than that, maybe don't reveal your biggest secret out of nowhere like that? Saying something like "I can't tell you why, but I recently gained a quirk" would even be better than what he said.

He actually did try in the manga too. But Bakagou brushed him off just as quick.

The beginning of the manga was quite forgettable. Doesn't help that my memory sucks too.

5 more. Can't wait to see the rest of the anime. I didn't forget what's about to happen

Midoriya considering Bakugo as his friend at all is the problem to begin with

to be clear, it's a very particular, relatable teenage thing to have no idea who the right people to give a fuck about are, that's why it's cringe

Deku doesn't think Bakugou is his friend; he doesn't want to look like he was being deceptive all these years. Deku doesn't think of Bakugou as his enemy, so he feels obligated to clear it up

This is how I saw it. Basically, he knows how Bakugou ticks.

What power does the girl in red that was transferred have? Super strength?

It hasn't been revealed yet. If you really want to know:

She can pull any inanimate object that she can think of out of her skin. That's why she's so exposed. She pulled those barricades they used to bar the door out of her skin.

don't worry about what DTL says

Her power won't be revealed until later, but it's
the ability to create any non-living object, provided she knows the exact chemical and structural make-up of that object. The object spawns through her skin, hence the skimpy outfit.

You know, I wonder how the school is ok with giving an underaged girl basically free reign to walk around naked, even if she's invisible.

Don't ask me why I'm thinking about this.

fun fact: all clothing stores in the MHA world will make custom versions of any clothing for you, if you're unable to wear something

frog girl is clearly the best character of the show so far. anyone that disagrees with me is wrong

Been meaning to ask about that. Why is that?
I never read the manga, but I have seen pics of her a couple of times.

Also, to you think this comic sums up Bakugou's life up to now in a nutshell? Or am I exaggerating?

He's been saying all his life he's the best in the world, but seeing everyone else in their mock battles, including the ice guy, shows how far behind he is or might be.
