I looked for my little pony live on youtube, and the previous suits looked very similar to what they used at the Calgary Stampede. It still had the body just hanging off of a person in the front of the suit. The faces matched the actual cartoon design (it was a previous gen) much better than the FiM costumes did, though.
If they're going to do live stuff, and they obviously will, they should definitely go with suit designs that actually match the show. That performance would've been much better if they had copied the facial work from the Dashsuit, instead of creating some new horrifying face that doesn't match anything.
The only other option I see for live shows is using puppets, but Hasbro seems pretty gung-ho on putting people in suits.

Again, I was only speaking hypothetically, between the two, the fursuit is the lesser of two evils. I know everyone's willing to jump on the furry hating bandwagon, but I just can't get mad at a couple of fur suits that actually have a decent effort put into them for what they are compared to a total lack of care the Hasbro "suits" have.

all fursuits i've seen have been terrible. I think there are possibilities with the skin tight colored suits though.

Thank you so much for linking to this. I just finished reading all the parts and really enjoyed it, now it might be my favourite too. I did start to get wary when shipping came into it (In the Rainbow Dash chapter, Fluttershy seemed particularly out of character to me) but in the end it all seemed to add to the story instead of being just fan service. The ending was incredibly well done too. Some of the plots seemed to be just forgotten about (Rarity's problem didn't really get the same attention the other ones did) but the Twilight chapter brought them all together and I loved the ending where she visits them all.
Thanks for linking to this too. I haven't had a chance to have a look at it yet, but I'm a sucker for those side stories you sometimes see in TV shows where the characters play a game like D&D and you see the adventure they go on, so this seems right up my alley.Orcastar said:

Since we're on the topic of fanfiction, here is one of my favorite stories. Titled Simply Rarity, it offers an origin story for Rarity and how she came to represent the element of generosity. Though it does get slightly contrived at some points, the author ties it in with the canon in a way that makes it believable, and he captures Rarity's personality well. Warning: It is a very sad story. One of the story tags is "Happy Ending," but that is a lie. It's a strong ending, maybe even bittersweet. But it is not happy.

Yeah I noticed that when I saw it and loved it. Sorry, I wasn't really directing the post at you but talking about the picture in general. She's not wearing all four socks on the right, smaller picture, but on the left, faded, bigger one she has four socks.DrForester said:

I didn't make that story. It was a joint effort by everyone in the chat earlier that day (This was done weeks ago). I was simply recapping it for someone who wasn't there at the moment and it was easy to take the screen cap of the recap instead of the formation of the story.
