My Speculation: I believe Nintendo and Rockstar are teaming up for GTA VI release.

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
I said this in another post and the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. All you have to do is a quick google search with Rockstar and wanting to work with Switch 2 and there are plenty of articles with Rockstar say's its going to happen. There are even articles stating GTA Vi will run on the Switch 2. Now Rockstar does not have to sell Playstation or Xbox Fans on Grand Theft Auto because they know what it's all about. There is a big Nintendo audience who has never played a Grand Theft Auto game.

Grand Theft Auto VI is still set for release this year and outside of a brief trailer, there has been no news on this game. If its set to release this year, it's time to finally start showing this off and getting the hype train rolling. When Rockstar does show this, they want as many eyes on this as possible. Hardware Reveals always grows big audiences from the gamers and even casuals who are curious what all the buzz is. GTA Vi and the Switch 2 will not doubt go viral on their own merits when they are finally revealed. It would be a megaton if a surprise bomb was dropped during the Switch 2 that would benefit both companies. Hell Rockstar could even sweeten the pot for themselves. They have never sold GTA 5 on a Nintendo System. At the same time as they Show GTA VI they can pedal another verion of GTA V "Switch Edition"

This is not a leak like all the bullshit people love to claim, and my fathers uncles cousins nephew does not work for Nintendo. The Timing makes sense and would be great for both companies.

Gta 6 would run at like 720p or below at 30fps with every single texture below low settings just to be able to work on the switch 2. It'd look like absolute crap on the console if they even tried forcing it on their which they won't because the game wouldn't work on it.

Why would they want to do that immediately?

They release on Playstation and Xbox. Then they double dip with PC because even console players who have PC might want to get it for the mods.

Then you triple dip by releasing it on a handheld console, so people can play it on the go.

My speculation.. the switch 2 will receive almost the same 3rd party support as the switch 1 ... and the ports will still be shitty gimped ass running on outdate overpriced hardware.

Cross gen games like Forbidden West, GT7 and GOW weren't 'gimped', so if the Switch 2 is really PS4 tier as rumored, the games will look and run quite well.
I expect MUCH better third party support than with the Switch 1. We know for certain that it's getting COD games...

I'd prefer to have an original GTA game on the Switch 2. Or original Bully/RDR. Something that would be more suitable for shorter handheld sessions.

How is Switch 2 overpriced, that is so unfair statemaent!

If Switch 2 costs 400$ it is the same as cheapest version of Steam Deck (and Steam Deck is indeed outdated hardware, less powerfull than Switch 2).
And all more powerfull handhelds (like Ally x and Legion Go) are almost twice more expensive.

File size, resolution and frame rate won't be the bottleneck. Raw polygon count, textures, lighting VFX etc are the issue. Reduce polygons and texture sizes and you'll get lower file size, higher resolution and better frame rate.

But Rockstar won't be incentivised to make their flagship game look worse. Except maybe the $100M+ returns. But it sends the wrong message to their PS5 market if it can be done on a handheld.

The 5080 at 1000 dollars is just overpriced as the 5090 at 2.000 .... anyway you are definitely not paying a 400-500 premium for the awsome switch hardware... you are paying to play nintendo games, thats it.

Nintendo audience doesn't care about GTA. People who wanna play it do it on PC or other consoles.

Besides, Switch 2 would melt in your hands if it tried to run that game or any other that pushes current-gen graphics. I'm amazed that people still believe in miracle ports.

I think you might on to something, friend. If you think about it, Nintendo Switch and Grand Theft Auto have just as many letters (14), and if you look at WI in SWITCH it does resemble V and VI quite a bit, doesn't it? WI = V V I! The hints have been there all along.

No. Switch 2 is not going to run GTA6 in the same fidelity as the reveal trailer, it just wont. So they arent suddenly going to start showing gameplay or a release announcement alongside gimped Switch 2 footage of it when the fanbase is waiting to see more of the PS5 footage.
Will a port happen? Most likely. But will they use Switch 2 as their platform of choice for marketing it? Fuck no.

If they didn't port/release GT5/online, a PS3 game, on the console with a 120M+ install base what makes you think they're champing at the bit to release on a console with 0 install base instead?

You're assuming that the Switch 2 will have the hardware to run GTAVI in a playable state. Anyway, I can't see this being a thing neither Nintendo or Rockstar require this type of partnership to sell truckloads of their products.
