My Speculation: I believe Nintendo and Rockstar are teaming up for GTA VI release.

I think this doesn’t track with how TT and Rockstar approach things. And a new platform like Switch 2 would take time and to figure out how to adapt something like GTA 6 to. All of their focus right now is on getting the game out the door on console. Not PC, and surely not a port for Nintendo. If it ever happens, which is iffy at best imho, it’ll be at least a year away. How it would even work with Nintendo’s wonky online system and lack of native voice chat support among other things, I don’t even know. The amount of resources it would take to convert over GTA 6 to something like Switch 2 I can’t even really imagine, but it would be a lot of work and cost a lot of money, and there’s things to figure out there as well, on the business side and not to mention the online side. I think this is very, very unlikely any time this year, at least.

Industry needs to move on from last gen. If the rumors are true the switch 2 being as powerful as ps4/ pro then hell nah.
No one has proven to have the technical chops to do so unless they're just cranking up UE5 settings. Even CDPR with their fantastic in-house engine has given up on the dream. I suspect that is because they had a technical talent exodus, but the point stands. I think a lot of it is the truly savant tier tech guys cannot operate in the new HR corpo paradigm. They don't need to either. They can just go indie and have the lifestyle and professional environment they want.

Like others have mentioned, I think ports of 4 and/or 5 are much more likely. They could also do something bizarre that nobody would expect like Chinatown Wars HD.

Nintendo does not need nor really care for Rockstar, and Rockstar does not need nor really care for Nintendo.

I suppose it is highly likely that GTA 5 could feasibly come to Switch 2 as could Red Dead Redemption 2 too given the more powerful hardware.

However, I doubt that GTA 6 will ever be released on Switch 2. For sure, the next Nintendo system though in 8+ years time when PS6 and Xbox Next get the inevitable Enhanced Definite Edition...

They didn't port 5 to switch while rereleasing it on PS4/XBone then PC then PS5/XBX/XBS. I don't know their reasoning but I think Rockstar are not interrested in releasing their main GTA games on Nintendo platforms.

Would be idiotic. I'm EXTREMELY doubtful switch 2 would even be able to run GTA 6 but having Nintendo as some type of partner? Marketing suicide. I don't think a heavy majority of switch owners give a damn about GTA.

It's kind of amusing to see people say it would run at 720p and then remember Switch 2 has DLSS. I'm not saying it's happening, but those posts suggest it's in the realm of possibility.
