Right, but it unfortunately cost more and made less than ASM1 did, plus had a worse critical reception. That's not something you want to see in a sequel.

Ehhhh, they definitely maneuvered everything around after seeing how it did. They had other plans that they scrapped.

Oh right, this too. They don't get merch off of it, which is a real buzzkill for them. That would've helped out significantly.

The merch situation hurts I'm sure, but I don't think Sony is lacking confidence in the brand due to ASM2's profit margin not being as large as they wanted it to be. I mean they're planning for how many spin-offs atm? Sinister Six, Venom I think, and a Female Super Hero film all from the property. Maybe it's a gamble but it would seem odd to plan for all of that while angling to reach some sort of reverse liscensing back to Marvel. Unless Marvel is shelling out some huge money upfront for it.

I'm pretty sure they killed all but the Sinister Six one, though my memory may be tricking me. Trust me, it's bad. They wanted way better.

I mean expectations are what they are but I doubt Sony is looking at a $700 million payday and thinking "God we gotta get rid of this anchor in our Film division."

No but Sony could see that individual Super Hero films can't stand by themselves and make money hats like they use to. Sony said their next Spider-man movie is the Sinister Six, its a "soft reboot." Basically meaning they aren't doing an origin story and they are recasting Spider-man. With that, they might be wanting to work with Marvel to be a part of the Marvel film universe.

Doubtful, but every film blogger in Los Angeles is gonna be livetweeting it.

LAST CHANCE FOR PREDICTIONS:

Ultron footage
Names & Dates for upcoming films
Doctor Strange presentation
Cap 3 details (Civil War)

...and casting announcements for Black Panther and Carol Danvers.

No Spidey news.
This, basically.

They just cast Doctor Strange in a process that has lasted for months of rumors and you think Carol and Black Panther somehow snuck by all the way into casting without the internet hearing anything about it? I mean, great if true, but that doesn't seem too plausible?

Prognostication ain't as fun if you don't hang your ass out on a limb once in awhile :)

I'm not disagreeing with you, either. It's not that plausible.

...but if I'm right...

Damn you Slott!!

This is right after he tweeted about the event btw.

That seems like a stretch and is similar to the stretches people were making in Season 1 to align her with Jessica Drew. In all likelihood, she's probably just a new character altogether.

I think it would be cool if she's the MCU version of a semi famous character, and I'd love to see AoS characters "graduate" into superheroes in the movies occasionally... but realistically I think you're probably right, she's probably just an original character.

Especially since she seems to be about to make her 616 debut in the new Shield ongoing book in December. Fitz, Simmons and May are in it at least. Actually, if Skye (and/or Ward) aren't in it for some reason, that's probably a red flag that they are meant to be an already existing MU character.

Slott only wants people to suffer, he'll be talking about something comics related, he's just timing it now to get off on people's anger.

Don't let him hurt you.

I don't trust him! Not one bit! Damn you Slott!

I..It's...happening?

NUH-UH

I was too conservative! My chance at forum glory fumbled!

You were dead on! Don't lose faith now!

There are those who said this day would never come.

I AIN'T GOIN' NOWHERE :p

I see. Looking it up, I missed the news earlier this month. And the tweet in this thread is craaaaazy.

Dan Slott is straight trolling. Don't believe his lies

It is just going to be a sneak peak at Age of Ultron and the "one more thing" is the official announcement of who is playing Doctor Strange. They will also briefly touch upon their other announced projects (Ant-Man and the Netflix stuff) and that will be all folks!

Final Rational Predictions:

New AoU footage
New Ant-Man footage
Announcement of Dr. Strange w/ Date set
Cap 3 Announced, RDJ & Evans show up

Note: This is all I think they will announce

Less Rational Predictions
Phase 3 fully laid out (including any Black Panther / Ms Marvel connections)
Spidey announced as part of Avengers 3

Break Twitter Moments
Ms Marvel & Black Panther casting and dates announced
Thor 3 announced; female Thor reboot and announcement for post Thor 3
Avengers 3 Title announced

So if there was Spider Man in Avengers 3 is he going to be in a movie on his own? They can't say he was missing from the Avengers universe all this time.

Ok, real predictions;

Cap 3 discussion
Avengers discussion and footage
Ant-Man discussion and footage
Dr. Strange
Maybe filling in Phase 3 with titles
PEACE

Everything else?
