Naked Gun Trailer - August 1st.

Asides from the OJ Simpson joke, it was really bad.

I suppose if you were going to do one of these then Neeson can do a fun deadpan and that makes for about as good a choice as you could hope for. But this didn't really feel like Naked Gun.

We'll see.
I know it's going to be more modern and different and it might absolutely suck but who knows...
He did a great job in that one episode of Life's Too Short though.

The trailer at least is aware of the hurdle it has to climb. Seth McFarlane can go a lot of different ways but he's unafraid to mock the PC crowd so I have moderate hopes. We'll see when a real trailer comes out.

I feel like these zucker films really need that biting edge and Seth is one of the few that would do it. Hopefully he's enlisted Bill Burr, Tony Hinchcliff, and Andrew Schultz to really punch it up.

I think Liam can pull it off.

I didn't care for the badass intro unless that's a dream sequence or day dream fantasy. The blood was a big turn off as well.

The OJ joke gave me some hope.

Edit:
Ok I forgot that the first scene in the original naked gun...frank beats up a bunch of terrorist.

Soooo minus the blood..it's on the right track.

The intro with the little girl was terrible.

The OJ joke was legit though

Because when I think comedy, I think Liam Neeson

:messenger_dizzy:

That's sort of the point.
Leslie Nielsen didn't come from a comedy background either.
And the whole idea behind the comedy is that everyone plays it straight, so he really works for this.

Like te Trix bit from Ted

Ted sucks and Seth McFarlane's humor is even worse.

Id rather donate my nuts to cancer research than be forced to watch any episode of Family Guy

The Zuckers guys had clear rules, how they did those movies, that is why they worked. Only Hot Shots was able to reproduce the formula because they followed the same rules.

For example, if there is something funny going on in the background, the dialog must be serious, because else two jokes would cancel each other out.

Looking forward.

Liam Neason as Frank Drebin is some casting choice.
Yeah Neason's characters are usually rough as hell washed up cops/IRA guys/bodyguards and/or estranged husbands. Can't be as bad as Schwarzenegger though. Although he can come across goofy with the heavy accent in comedy roles.

I like Liam Neason and Naked Gun, and I got a chuckle from this. I'm absolutely in and just hoping it isn't a trainwreck.

I'm optimistic, Neeson is very good at dead pan humour, people have already posted Life's Too Short but he was also on Derry Girls and Atlanta and owned the scenes he was in.

Should've literally been called "The Naked Gun Reboot" or "Naked Gun: The Legacy Sequel" given its self-referential nature and the naming of the old sequels.

Watched Hot Shots 2 recently. ABSOLUTELY holds up but mainly because its 5-10 jokes/gags a minute, non stop. So even if the hit rate is 50% it's still 2 laughs a minute. Super topical humor though, I had to explain every third joke to my kids :P

Yeah man when I think of Naked Gun I think of Drebin stabbing and then slicing someone's neck open with a stick and blood squirting out and then he shows his boxers because he's wearing a skirt while he winks at the audience.

This is an insult to humor itself. It legit looks like an AI generated this.

Outside of the oj joke this fell absolutely flat for me. I just rewatched the first naked gun and this ain't it

I liked it. And it's hard to make me laugh.

At least it's a comedy, haven't seen those in theaters in a long time.
