you can spoil it by reading his wiki

I paused in the middle of ep 4 just to say wow

ep 4
did he know the driver set him up or did the driver set the girl up? I guess I'll find out when I watch the rest

I know he died, what I mean is that if the show delays it for another season I'd be disappointed but I don't think it'll happen.

As for episode 4,
he set the girl up so that she could go free from the pimp dude who wants to kill her and also gain Pablo's trust. Or atleast that's what I think, it could also be that he really wanted Pablo to get caught but then saw him say goodbye to his kids and wife and that changed his mind.

Limon/Pablo set up the Maritaz so that Pablo could get to the Colonel, in exchange for her freedom.

I just need to know if this season is as good as the last season. First season was excellent and if this season holds up just as well, then I will jump right in and watch.

I'm starting episode 4 now. The pacing seems better than season one, and I LOVED season 1. If this keeps up it might wind up being better.

Finished it. I wasn't expecting much because, well, we know what happens, but this season is just as good as season 1. Excellent show.

It's weird how Murphy would need translation at times and then not at others...even if both times had important conversations.

On episode 8, this show going for that Game of Thrones body count.
RIP hot reporter. Yikes

I was talking to my mom about the show because I grew up watching Univision noticias with my parents a kid and so much of this stuff has a familiarity to it because of it.

Goddammit, started episode 1, only wanted to peek in as I didn't want to spend an hour today, ended up watching the whole episode.

Finished it, really good stuff. It wasn't as colorful as the last season since they already told the story of the circus that was Pablo's political career and his "imprisonment", but they did good with the material they had.

I didn't think they'd spend the whole season on Escobar, but it all worked out just fine. It was hugely entertaining, just like the first season. Top notch tvmaking, although watching some of these shows in one gulp feels almost like a longform movie. And the season ended great too.

The one thing this show does well are the long takes. Even if there is an edit somewhere it is very hard to see. Phenomenal acting by everyone involved. Even the bit parts are great.

Once again I have to say the sets really make this show come alive.

Finished earlier today. Best moment of the season for me was
the montage of the real life killings, bombings and terrible stuff Pablo did playing over his mother saying his son was a good man and had done nothing wrong.
Powerful stuff.

Finished it. Never watched 10 episodes of anything that fast but I'm waiting for a kidney stone to pass... Now what do I do? Fuuuuck

Season 2 was a lot better than Season 1 for me. The breakneck speed of how they went through Pablo's rise and the endless narration really took me out of Narco Season 1. Here, they toned down the narration during S2 and it's far more focused on a tighter period of time, giving more room for personal development. Tata and Pablo's mother are actual characters for example.

It is a testament to how insane Pablo Escobar's story is that even though I knew its end I still had like this subconscious pull at the back of my head that said he could find a way out of this too lol

I was curious and looked up Pablo's kids. They are still alive. I wonder what they think of the show.

Episode 6:

I found it funny that the Cali Cartel was talking about decency and respect for his family when they are engage in a war with Pablo, and are routinely killing Pablo's men and putting them out on display for the public.

The bomb/wedding scene was crazy though.

The shooting scene at Pablo's house was incredibly well shot. They still up their game for S2.

Nice. I thought this started next week. Just went onto Netflix and saw it was up. Waiting for my takeaway and I'll start watching.

Surprised this thread is only two pages though.

As a Colombian, how offended will I be if I watch this?

I kind of want to see it, but any series that try to make me sympathetic to the psychopath that constantly bombed my city is a no-no.

Or well, maybe I can take it if it's that good.

I'm Colombian as well. I wasn't alive when the majority of this stuff happened, and when I was, I was too little to pay attention, so all of this is very new to me. It is shocking the amount of violence, fear and distress Pablo and the rest of them put the Colombian people through. I mean, I knew Colombia had a troubled past and I knew of the violence, but I guess actually seeing it (the news clips they show throughout the show) took me back.

The first season you weren't really sympathetic towards Pablo. I think in S2, they strike a balance of being sympathetic and wondering how the fuck a man could do all those things (or the Cali Cartel/Los Pepes for that matter).

My family is from Cali and I'm lucky they weren't hurt or killed during those years.

They took more liberties than I expected.

Honestly, i wouldnt say it offended me but some scenes did make me upset (not from
Colombia though).
