To anyone who is actually up to date on the manga: is it actually building towards a conclusion? Like, it is at the end of an arc?

I am at best a casual observer of Naruto, but I'm curious about what its finale is going to be.

Terrible news to wake up too. At least we already knew the final outcome. I wanted a part 3 so much.

These days Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth is better than Naruto by leaps and bounds.

No, go away.

One Piece is the best manga I've ever read.

I'd put it as a three-way tie between OP, Kongo Bancho and Hajime no Ippo. But it's definitely the best manga in Jump by miles and miles--and the only one I read that still has plenty of life yet despite being so long.

Oh yes, it was building towards the end of the series for a while now.

5 chapters seems really short, I expect the final chapter will be like 30 pages like issue 1

especially sinced toriko failed to happen despite a huge anime push and likely manipulation of weekly ranking polls. Even now, Toriko manages to match Gintama in per volume sales at best. Bleach volumes typically sell 1.5x-2x a Toriko volume. luckily, they have one piece for maybe another 5-10 years. after that, they are really screwed.
This will always be funny to me.
Agreed, One Piece has been amazing from the get-go and has only gotten better and better unlike the other two.

Ahahahaha.

now ends Bleach

Go away.
Jump must really be terrible then. One Piece and HxH>>>>>>Bleach.
One piece is bad in comparison to Bleach.

Wow that's surprising. I was expecting a much more drawn out final fight.

The series has definitely jumped the shark, but I'll finish it out since I want to see what happens.

Really? And I thought Bleach would end first... until Kubo decided to introduce new random enemies and drag those stupid battles.

Chapter 1 of Naruto was 50ish pages. I think one of these chapters will be that long

EDIT: Oh god rereading the 1st chapter just made me really sad

Can't believe this is still running!

It became basically unreadable like 7 years ago...

Well.. actually, still better than the agony which is titled One Piece.

Bleach is never going to end at the rate it's going. How many letters of the alphabet are left for Kube to use for bad guy names?

Remember when he numbered his bad guys and they got more powerful the lower the numbers got? And like, numbers 2-4 were wtf overpowered? And then we got to #1 and his superpower is being lame and boring? And then we get a surprise #0 and he's so shitty and uninteresting he gets off-screened?

Kubo!

Is the war still going on? I stopped reading a year ago when
Naruto was fighting against Maidana
, don't tell me that is still going on?

Thank god. Naruto is the only one of the big three that I caught up with and I hate myself.

To be quite honest I would tell thats the only one worth keeping up with, bleach went to poo and ruined rukia in one line.

And One Peice while not really bad at all, its premise isn't as amorphous and becoming the hokage. The hokage is a poltical position, so everything everyone does is contributing to something and is explaining something. In one peice, where the goal is to get to a place, everything that does not feel like its contributing to them getting to that place faster, and even some stuff that is seems like a horrible detour. At first it isn't horrible, but after so many hundreds of chapters on one goal, that is a place, it gets kinda stale. And you kinda start resenting cool characters that are introduced, because its always " can we get to the goddamn X please "

Say what you want about bleach but you cannot defend the current arc. It is horrible.

Can't believe I will live to see the ending of Naruto. A shame we had to go through this bad war arc though.

Claymore ended last week.
Naruto ends next month.

All the manga thst started over a decade ago are all coming to a close.
Bleach needs to be put out of its misery.

I think it's good world building. "King of the Pirates" is kind of a childish goal that befits someone like Luffy, so when the crew meets up with new islands and threats it sort of puts in perspective just how important the title of "King of the Pirates" is.

I feel like becoming the hokage is a better world building tool, because it forces kishimoto to have to explain technical stuff, like governments how they work and their dirty underbellies, and the economy and the effect the have on the people which is largely not good. There is a lot of poltical shade thrown in naruto. Every explanation and everywhere they go feels like they are contributing to the narrative, which to become a political leader. So Naruto going around the world and helping people and learning how the world works directly contributes to that.

But when you come back from a time skip and be like " i wanna be king of the pirates, ooooh! fish person world" My response is who gives a shit where is the godamn X

Edit: Also I heard Dude wanted to make the teenage like more anthropomorphic version of chopper the main chopper but some editors was like no we need a mascot. You wanna know who the mascot of one peice is? LUFFY. You don't need another mascot , people word associate one peice with luffy.

I'm not gonna compare as I never kept up with Naruto but have stuck with One Piece, but I suppose I don't mind because I love the characters and the arcs. Really does feel like I'm going on an adventure
