LobLob, NASA is full of many people a lot smarter than you. They determined that this was the best way to land a rover of this size on Mars.

Will it suck if it fails? Of course. Any Mission failure is bad for NASA because of the mission costs. Does not change that they are all worth it.

But comrade Lob works for Roscosmos, so he knows his shit better than NASA folks. But unfortunately He's been too preoccupied searching for that lost satellite to call up NASA and let 'em know about his superior method. Give him a break.
