NBA finals

Couldn't find a thread. Anybody watching the finals?

Both games last night were bonkers

Tonight is first game of GSW vs Wolves. My most anticipated series. Should be a banger 🤗

How much do Lakers fan blame JJ? I don't know enough about their dynamic, but If I was Lakers fan I would be calling for his head
Yeah, JJ made some dumb decisions, but that should be expected from a first year coach.

My thing is this, though:

Luka is an out of shape fat ass!!

He needs to take his conditioning and defense more seriously.

Anyway, I like the Denver Nuggets this year as a dark horse team. They could actually end up winning it all.

Full group blame here. Not sure why Lakers fans are overreacting, when the AD and Luka trade happened it was established that it was a move for the long term when Lebron was retired. They had success early, but when your playing Finney Smith and a 40 year old Lebron at center you wouldn't expect to win against teams with size. They played small ball and didn't even lead in fast break points... it wasn't working.

The team desperately needed a center like AD said, but never got one and when they did they voided it lol. Although, Mark Williams wouldn't have mattered anyways in this series.

CRAZY ending to Indy/Cavs game. Indy came back! Haliburton 3 pt bomb with 1 second left. Major Cavs choke. They were leading by 7 with 48 seconds left.

Plus side, I won a ticket. $13 paid $45! Ya!

Wow. Just wow.

Cleveland going down 0-2 despite having home court advantage is quite shocking. 😲

It reminds me of the 2011 season when the Mavericks took the first two games in LA vs the Lakers.

Lol, don't be surprised to see the Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals.

Warriors take game 1, but it looks like Chef Curry is injured. :(

Love the NYC fans craziness when the Knicks are actually good. Very similar to Philly fans. I am very lucky I grew up in new england sports wise.

Gobert having 24 rebounds and ant having 11 was damping on the Lakers. Unfortunately some great center will fall in their lap cause their LA.

Buddy Hield will have to step up big time, if the warriors want to win this series with Minnesota.

I love how the lakers are just as bad with Luca as they were with AD. They are shit no matter what. Gotta respect that consistency.

Congrats Indy on two wins in a row, no way they win the series.

Brunson doing his Michael Jordan impression is nothing short of amazing.

Nuggets are alright, it will be funny if they win it all with that stupid coach firing (Mike Malone).

Warriors have some old timers, but they're properly coached.

Wow, I would have been pleased to have my Knicks split the first two games on the road, but to follow up one miraculous comeback with another is just crazy. While they definitely made a bunch of clutch plays down the line, the fact that the Celtics response to thwart a comeback by a surging Knicks team is to chuck (and miss) more 3's is just laughable (though much-welcomed).

While I do think not having a healthy Porzingis hurts their spacing, missing 75 3's over 2 playoff games is outrageous. Enough is enough already. Having your superstar Tatum asleep at the wheel doesn't help either, but this reliance on a 3-ball that isn't falling plus not regrouping with your available timeout to have yet another game end without even getting a shot off at the buzzer - yeah, straight up amateur hour from Mazzulla.

OKC has scored 87 points at halftime, a new NBA playoff record! 😲

These NBA games have been insane. Big comebacks, Curry injured, Cavs/Celts going to blow it, Lakers taken down easily in round 1.

And ya, as Lunch Legend said above OKC on fire. TNT guys said 87 pts at the half most pts ever by halftime.

Minnesota blowing out the Warriors without Curry. I fully expect the Timberwolves to be in the WCF.

Also knicks will win the championship :lollipop_smirking:

Denver Nuggets gut-out an OT victory against OKC, I wonder if this series will go to a game 7 ? 🤔

Cavaliers are getting blown out in Indy.
It looks like this will end up as a disappointing season for them.

Indiana Pacers close out the Cavs in 5.
I wonder if Donovan Mitchell will stay in Cleveland. 🤔

Assuming Knicks win and Nuggets manage to get the upset, would this be the first playoffs where a top 2 seed didn't make either conference finals?

Knicks advance to the ECF and the Nuggets/Thunder are going into a game 7.

These playoffs have been dynamite so far .

Imagine being a Mavs fan having lost both Jalen Brunson and Luka Doncic, lol

Ah, at least we get Cooper Flagg, so ..

Didnt watch the game as I was watching hockey. Flipped to it in the first quarter where it was close. Flipped back later and it was like 80-50 NY. wtf? lol

Went back to the Leafs/Panthers game.

I'm a bit torn on who to cheer for. I'm a fan of a small-market team (let's go, Jazz!) so I'm impressed by what the Wolves and Pacers have accomplished. I'm more familiar with players on the Wolves so I'd rather see them win over the Pacers. I like the way the Knicks built their current team too though (it seems like it was largely through some smart trades). RIP to ratings if it's Wolves vs Pacers but honestly everyone who appreciates basketball but dislikes how the NBA seems too catered to a few star teams should show up and support that sort of a Finals with viewership.

I guess ill root for the Knicks. Their owner seems like an idiot but besides that the roster is solid. They also haven't won in like 50 years

Warriors fan here so let's see for next year but I can't really root for a western conference team.
