This show is so funny. "I would like... a birthday cake!" :lol

I'm kinda surprised, but Abed has by far been the funniest character so far. Pretty disappointed that Donald Glover has been pretty underused. I hope they give him some highlights in the future. I'd also love if his Derrick Comedy friends appeared at some point.

"I'm talking about your speeches and her guided missiles" :lol

This show is really charming.

Dammit my dvr didnt record the episode for some reason. I remember they showed the pilot after the soup that first week, is that done for every episode?

Ours didn't record either. Weird. They also aired the first two after Monday Night Raw on USA this week.
If you have Time Warner, I think they're putting up the shows on the free HD Showcase (or whatever they're calling it these days) On Demand channel.

I like how Donald glover has the opposite problems of me. people think my sneezes sounds like coughs,:lol

I get this all the time too! Plus I'm usually a single sneezer so that doesn't help things. It was so frustrating after a while, I finally had to ask someone why no one ever told me "God bless you" after a sneeze.

I'm really enjoying this show so far, I'll definitely be watching the rest of the season. The outro's to the last two episodes have been fantastic and I would love if they keep it up with Abed/Troy.

The whole episode was awesome. Its beginning to get its form.

The Krumping scene at the end had me in stitches.

Simply incredible.

This. I watched it again just to confirm my opinion. And it's even better the second time around when you know what is going on ahead of time. That is about as sweetly poignant as you can do a sitcom in 21 minutes of network TV.

Loved the third episode. It's a really great show but it wouldn't surprise me if they cancel it.

As of next week it will be on at 8:00 on Thursdays, which is classically one of the best spots on NBC's entire lineup. That's good because it shows they are supporting it, but bad because it means they are really expecting something from it, and it might just be a little too quick for the parts of America that make shows a success.

And it was pulling only a million viewers per new episode. That's astonishingly bad.

Oh, I wasn't aware of that.

Well Community is a fantastic show so I certainly hope it stays on the air.

I hate those parts.

Didn't catch the pilot but have caught the last two episodes. Show is hilarious. Really hoping it does well and stays on the air for Joel McHale's sake. Dude goes to the church I used to go to and he is a really cool, down-to-earth guy. Glad he is having some success outside of obscure basic cable clip shows.

Also glad John Michael Higgins is back on TV. He was the only good part about that abomination Kath & Kim. I'm a big fan of his. If any of you haven't already, you should really check out Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, he was hilarious in those movies.

this was MUCH stronger and genuine than the second episode. the comedy had a more natural feel to me as well, like it wasn't trying so hard to be clever and was just letting the characters be themselves. the parody of DEAD POETS SOCIETY was gold: the fact that it was referenced not only by the english teacher, so awesomely portrayed by that dude from AD whose name i can never remember, but that it followed through with the main storyline about the disapproving father trying to restrict his son's school activities and control his life. very funny stuff.

i actually think chevy chase is the weakest part of the show.

I'm trying for the life of me to love this show. This episode was better but I can't see how it is as good as AD/The Office/30 Rock or even Parks and Recreations. What am I missing?

it's not as good as any of them yet. the writing isn't nearly as sharp. but it's a damn good start (though i will say that AD and 30 ROCK started strong right out of the gate).

This is as strong of a start as I've seen out of any TV show in a good while. Definitely will grow into something exceptional before it's all done.

Agreed on AD ("Top Banana" is still my favorite episode) but I didn't think 30 Rock's first season was all that great.

I don't know. It isn't clicking with me either. I think the whole show just seems way too forced.

I LOVE AD, 30 Rock, Office, It's Always Sunny, Parks and Rec, and a number of other comedies. There are amusing jokes, and a few LOL ones but the show has some extreme dead time.

Parks and Rec has a shitload of dead time imo and is way beneath those other shows. And Sunny has sort of devolved imo into just a good comedy rather than a great one like it was in the early years.

heh, that's funny, i actually think the first season of 30 ROCK is the strongest it ever was.

Parks and Rec still feels to me like a shitty Office clone, and I can't see it shedding that image ever, considering it was built upon being "THE NEXT OFFICE!"
