Is it September yet? Great finish to an awesome season.

Oh and
Team Britta

I'm thinking of adding Britta's head to my avatar. Picture it like a Hydra of sorts but only 2 heads. It will pretty much be the greatest thing ever. John Locke's BOSS face. Britta's cute mouse face. As well as Annie's tight body.

Holy crap, was that a LOST reference with Chang and Duncan?

Chang wearing white, Duncan in a dark suit. Chang threatens to attack Duncan, but can't because he's a student, so he says he'll "find a loophole"
Yeah. Totally loved that!

I'm gonna miss not making avatars till September. I guess I could make some Chappelle Show avatars or something.

I jump shows. Working on some for Lost as we speak. ^_^

There's so many avatars now. They're in order too :lol

good work again, 180 :)

My pleasure. It's fun seeing them all over the place. ^_^

As for a season long arc, I don't really "require" one for Community. The whole school thing feels like an arc in and of itself. Plus it's funny enough to have each episode stand on it's own, unlike the Big Bang Theory.

I dont require it either, but thats why I wish they wouldn't force it. Community functions very well as its borderline sketch show direction. An example of a shitty part in the final is when
Britta says "I love you". I was so so so hoping she wasn't going to say it. Every time Community has fringed on something emotional it always turns it into a joke. Every single episode, right from the very first when Jeff gives his big meaningful speech and Britta shows him the door.

Its just not convincing, funny, nor really valuable to the plot. Like the whole Annie thing. He kissed Annie; so what. The chemistry between them had been weak for most of the season outside of these little pockets that always came across more like a drooling schoolgirl Annie than anything actualy substantial.

Its a problem I have with Community, but one I dont really mind if they dont try and force it. Community is the kind of show that from Episode 1 to Episode 25 its like nothing has actually happened. Every episode acts as a stand alone plot, and there's not a whole lot of continuity or development.

Amazing first season. Let's hope that Season 2 is just as good.
Such an awesome show. Donald Glover and Ken Jeong are my favorite characters.

"I will find a loophole" :lol

Parks and Community for whatever reason felt sad and diiferent, I have a bad feeling that we won't see these series after S2.
Well, Parks and Rec just finished its second season, so you're wrong on that count.

I'll say this: anyone watching The Big Bang Theory next year instead of Community is part of the problem.

Watching the ep now. Fantastic, until Britta's love confession.

Everyone else has said it, so I'll just say that the first three quarters made me realise how much I love the show. What's funny is that I seldom ever watch sitcoms/comedy on a whim (I prefer dramas), but I randomly decided to watch this show and it's one of the best 'entertainment decisions' I've made!

Finale was mostly very good and very funny but the ending was shit and cemented the problem I have with Community and its total lack of any worthwhile seasonal story arc.

Jeff + girls is not interesting unless its a joke, nor does it have any substantial build-up. Its why the Annie kiss from the debate episode was ignored in nearly every following episode. Its why the hot professor was more of a item to use for jokes rather than an interseting story. Its why Britta and Jeff hooking up took place in the silliest, most outlandish episode and was ignored in the episode that followed.

Jeff's relationships, or any real relationships, are really not very interesting when they're taken seriously. Especially so when there's no build-up.

Sorry team-Annie. Trying to climax a story that barely existed to begin with just doesnt work.

Still, very funny, and I look forward to season 2.

Such an awesome post.

I really thought that we were done with this silly relationship business a while back.

Still, I would like to see how the (mis)handle Jannie.

VERY true. It was a good episode but the ending was so disappointing..

Still, though, I was kinda wishing it'd be Britta. I also didn't like Britta's "confession" that she loved him.. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Although there have been little moments of notable chemistry between them, i can't help but feel that ending was thrown in there for the sole purpose of subverting the cliche. I saw it coming a mile away and i was kinda hoping they wouldn't go there.

Great finale overall though. The amount of callbacks was insane.

I didn't like that the plot of the season came down to Jeff choosing between a bunch of hot women
(Team Britta FTW!!)
. I hope we get better continuing plots than this next season. Enjoyed the episode very much anyway, and the season was overall fantastic, I hope they can keep it up.

Yoink. Thanks 180! (SORRY!).

Awesome finale. Britta standing up for herself because of her feelings for Jeff was a refreshing turn. It was also pretty cool to have Slater back and the competition/almost 'cat fight' moments were great.

Jeff not making a decision and leaving the dance fits his character almost perfectly. I know his character has grown throughout the season in terms of caring more about others, but I think deep down he's still a 'slacker'. He doesn't want any major responsibilities.

I definitely thought something was going to happen with Annie, too (although not this soon). They've been hinting at it every so often in some of the more recent episodes. Annie's matured beyond her prissy, high school self, and this picked up Jeff's attention. I would say a few more hints or development in previous episodes would've helped this subplot make more sense. I was more or less expecting Jeff to walk away from the dance and have it end there (with a small quip or 2 from Abed/Troy about a typical walk-away cliffhanger), and then Annie coming back in S2E1.

Or, I'm just reading into this too much and it was an in-your-face 'jump the shark'.

Either way, still an amazing first season. Hands down one of my favorite comedies ever. Props to the whole Community crew (seriously one of the best cast mixes I've seen in a show - the finale bringing back a ton of characters was AWESOME). Can't wait for S2.

Team I-can't-pick-between-all-of-the-hotness.

Wow, what a horrible finale. It was worse than the first episode.
Really? I actually thought it was a very good episode. The only weak part imo is the whole Jeff and Annie thing which kinda came out of nowhere for me. Damn I can't believe we have to wait until fucking September for more community!

Wasn't the whole Annie/Jeff thing a "Jump the Shark"-esque nod to other sitcoms that jumped the shark by having certain characters hook up?

I even think Abed and Troy talked about Jumping the Shark. Maybe by having Annie/Jeff hook up was a nod to that statement.

Reminded me of the end of the first season of Seinfeld.

You're correct about Abed and Troy, but the Annie/Jeff thing had no joke or satirical quality, so any 'jumping the shark' was literal, regardless of the writer's intention.

Thought it was a great episode, surprised at the more "serious" tone of the ending. Like most I hope they don't move towards a more traditional sitcom route, but I doubt it. Amazing new series and I look forward to season 2.

"I'll find a loophole" and "Didn't expect more than one person to respond to my ad" had me :lol

I gave up on Lost ~Season 3, so does someone want to explain the loophole joke to me and why it was related to lost?

I fucking love this show, but that ending was just awful. There was no connection at all. It felt so dull and lifeless.

And :lol at calling this season the best season of a sitcom ever. Exaggerating much, costanza?

I love when Shirly says her friend Gary is transferring. Annie's face spasm coupled with Troy's "I hope he transfers to hell" makes me laugh so hard.
