Neil Druckmann confirms Naughty Dogs other project and he is 'more of a producer' on it

Wasn't Jade a producer?

I'm starting to think that the producer's job is to get paid at the end of(and during) the project.

Is a producer like, "Here I produced this wad of money, go spend it on shit to make my game" or are they more micromanagers like "but don't spend that shit on McDonalds, only buy Burger King, it is cheaper in this town."

Like, what is the process of producing something? What do they actually DO here? I get the sneaking feeling a lot of producers are barely involved in the project.

I'll echo that I'd like to see something from the people behind The Lost Legacy. It's probably my favorite ND game from last gen simply because it's more gameplay focused.

Of course with Neil "mentoring" them he is going to be like.
"No you've had the player engaging with fun gameplay for too long. Here you should put in a flashback or something where you have to walk around for 30 minutes as the characters talk"

As long as that cuck has any say on the project the writing/characters will be garbage.
Can't have realistically written characters oppose the worldview of the ones in charge.

Remember, if the fucker known as Jimbo Ryan didn't force all the studios to work on GaaS, Intergalactic would've been already released, and this so called new game would be coming out later this year, or early next year by the latest. This gen is so fucked my god.

I enjoyed TLOU2, i assume that's rare on here, so i am interested to see what its all about.

Yeah, picture for ND totally turned around dude.

And what stage of dev do you think this project is at? You reckon it'll come before or after the PS6 comes out?

The point is, you don't know... This game could come out before Intergalactic for all you know. If this game comes out for PS5 are you going to create some mea culpa? No, you won't... You'll just have your argument disappear into the ether...

You don't even know when the PS6 is going to come out. There are so many unknown variables here but the assumptions run rampant.

This is just a reaction post after he read our posts, something something else is being worked on.

Yeah your game after intergalactic I'm sure it does exist in the mind. Will be a great PS6 title for sure 😂

I dont fucking care. I already unfollowed them on twitter, because every fucking day they tweet about the last of us and im sick of it. 5 years into this gen and they have nothing.

So we might actually get another game from Naughty Dog that doesn't have a muscular boss girl in it. I remember there was a perfect tweet about Druckmann going around after the Intergalactic trailer, which had a picture of the main character with the caption 'It's from Neil Druckm-- yeah, we know.'

As long as it's not TLOU3. After seeing what craig's been doing with season 2 I don't want anyone else except Neil directing Part III.

This is a good point. This means ND is making 2 games right now and NEITHER are TLOU3. Interesting..............

He will be involved in every Naughty Dog game -even if he's not directing it- as long as he's the studio head, which means that Druckmann will be an executive producer on pretty much each ND project.

If this game comes out before the PS6 is out, I will say I was wrong.

It's pretty obviously going to be 2028 or 2029.

Hopefully ND reboots Uncharted. I don't want to see Uncharted without Nathan Drake and I definitely don't want to see his daughter become the main character.

I think you have one thing over Mibu here; 2027 is a loooooooooot more likely than 2029, so yes, we could very well end up with a single new ND game this generation.

Man, another Neil thread. So tempted to say how shitty Imtergalatics coming out was. So bummed at ND. Wish they stuck to making games the wide audience can enjoy. Every time he opens his mouth and somebody writes about it, I roll my eyes.

Druckmann: "So can I have a very buff and masculine woman in it who is a thin disguise for my latent homosexuality?"

The board: "No"

Druckmann: "...I refuse to direct it!"

I'm skeptical that a "re-educated" male feminist who subsequently spent his career promoting his new worldview in his video games will allow the "progress" he made to be undone under his watch.
I share a similar sentiment. I want him to prove us wrong though and show he's bigger and more tolerant than he's currently perceived.

He mentioned he only has a couple more games in him.

Hopefully, he moves to a larger role at some point, maybe as the head of PlayStation Studios.

We're ignoring one another, but I have to put a foot down and say you're out of your mind (not surprised). There's already some allegded rumor going around the guy played a part in halting the breaks on a Days gone sequel due to selfishness. Not to mention, he's been open and vocal about pushing a political agenda. That's a disqualifier. As it stands, he's absolutely not fit for that seat. Not until he's proven that he's gotten over that idea.

Producers have no creative control and just over see a project. Pretty much they say yes or no to things. That's it. It's why Zelda is not doom and gloom any more because Eiji Aonuma is no longer creative director. The person who directed the handheld titles and BOTW is now in control. Which sucks. So if you see in Movies where they advertise the producer who directed past movies it means nothing. Just to trick the audience into thinking it's coming from the same mind.

Producer in most cases like this is a fancy word for I'm part of the group of people who oversee the project. He's across it, but doesn't necessarily do much.

A director on the other hand has control of the project. So hopefully Neil's grubby little ideas don't make its way onto this project.
