Yeah new stick user here so any tips would help.. I'm usually switching up my sitting positions and sometimes I even sit seiza style in front of my kotatsu. I know the best would be to mount it to something but I'm a casuallllllllllllllllllllll.

I know some people go up from under the ball, wrapping their fingers around over the top. Personally, I've never been able to attain positive results from this technique.

Regarding the Standard SF stick... will it be easy enough to swap out the art on it? I'm really tempted to get it as my first stick but I hate the art it comes with.
 
Anyone know anything regarding Canadian stores carrying the SFIV standard sticks? I know the TE sticks are going to be late for us, but I couldn't find any info on when stores are going to have the standard sticks which is what I'm probably looking to get.

Tell me about it. I did overnight shipping yesterday morning and it still hasn't shipped.
 
In general, I have found that B&N + Borders have absolutely horrendous shipping & handling times. They just do not understand that there are consumers out there who want their product immediately. This is a recurring problem with these retailers and I almost never order from them anymore because of it.

Try to be thankful that at least you did not get canceled and pray that the idiots packaged your stick correctly.
 
SE sticks for both 360 and ps3 are available right now at fry's in SoCal. I just picked up one for the ps3 and they had what looked like a palette(?) of 25-30 360/ps3 sticks.

edit: I was under the impression that the sticks would work right out of the box on the pc but i just plugged it in and it couldn't find drivers for it. anyone know what's up? running vista.

edit2: the fry's in manhattan beach, sorry.
 
So I've spent a good evening with the SE stick. Had a hell of a time with dragon punch motions, then I realized what I was doing wrong...I was doing something more like towards, down, towards, you gotta really tuck the stick into that square bottom-toward corner at the end of the motion. Once I got that, oh man.

I still have a ways to go, but I definitely am starting to see the light. I finished off my night pulling off spinning pile drivers, it was glorious. :D

Do you ever feel that the SE inhibits you from performing the moves? Do you regret not getting a TE?

Honestly, the stock parts feel a lot better to me than I expected. Mind you, I'm a complete stick noob, so take my opinion with a couple of grains of salt...but I think casual to intermediate players will be pretty satisfied with the stock hardware. I don't feel that the hardware itself has limited my moves, only my inexperience.

Another thing I should mention: I expected the SE to be annoyingly light, it's not. Some people will probably still want it heavier, I don't have that complaint though.

I think this will be an ideal stick to grow into. Once you factor in swapping out the stick and buttons, you're approaching the cost of a TE, but you don't lay out the money all at once either. I think the SE is a nice safe bet for people who want to try a stick and maybe go crazy with Japanese parts later, but aren't 100% sure.

I'm used to square gates, so no problems for me. Just played a bunch of games. Thing is flawless online for me. Best stick I've ever owned.
 
anyone have any success using a ps3 SE with your vista pc? It is unable to find drivers whenever i plug the joystick in.

edit: erm, i just plugged it into another port and it works. :D
 
I don't know why I didn't try this before, but I just plugged in my fighting stick 3 into my PC(XP sp3) and it worked right away. It came up as FS3, HID in the little balloon. Fire up 3S and it worked like a charm.
 
Just ordered an HRAP EX for my 360. Been a pad player all my life, so thought I might try & play this one in an authentic styley. I'm going to lose so badly.

I noticed that the 'Hori Real Arcade Pro EX-SE' is a level below the 'Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 SA', does anyone know what the major differences are between them? Or have personal impressions after trying them?

HRAP3 SA has a mounting plate that will support Sanwa and Seimitsu LS-32-01.

HRAP EX-SE does not have a 5 pin connector to easily swap in/out diff sticks.

That's the main reason.

Both sticks are super high quality tho.

My guy at Gamestop Germany just told me that they received an email from Madcatz that they will not be able to come through with the preorders at all. It seems that the total shipment of SFIV Accessories totals 2000 pcs. That includes pads, sticks etc. GS Germany pulled every item from the preorder system. I pred the TE Stick at different places (not only GS) weeks ago. 4 of them already bombed. Im seriously considering buying one from the vultures of ebay. To hell with Seth the prick who told poeple to buy "one for ebay".
