You could have ebayed that thing for double!
I considered it, but anytime I try to resell something like this the market ends up collapsing. Either ebay would be flooded or I'd end up with a broken one that I couldn't flip, or something along those lines.

Also, I don't have the willpower! It's easy to turn it down when it's sitting across the country in some warehouse, but it's a totally different story once it's in my living room.

If there is anyone in Europe with an extra x360 sf4 FightStick SE I'm willing to buy it, GameStop USA sent me the wrong stick (I now have an extra PS3 one).

Got my backordered e-mail from Capcom. :(

Gonna try and cancel it later, they better not give me any shit since it seems like nobody got theirs shipped.

Also canceled my Amazon order. Don't feel like waiting and don't trust Amazon to come through. The initial problems people are having with the stick aren't too comforting either. I'll just stick with my little EX2 for now. I don't have any execution problems with it and it works fine as of now. When it does go I'll just grab an HRAP EX or build a custom.

I agree, $150.00 for a stick with those mentioned problems are not worth it. I am going to order the HRAP3 from amazon while it is in stock and do some button mods later.

I'm still waiting on the TE I still don't know why I ordered. If Amazon fucks up it'll be cool. But still, I'd love to know like, now.

The problems with the stick coming out are pretty fucking disheartening though.

This is turning into one big clusterfuck, eh? Not the sort of PR Madcatz was hoping for I'm sure. Wonder how many HRAP's are gonna be sold within the next week or so as a result.

I just ordered another HRAP3 :lol

Gonna go with the Virtua Stick High Grade look with a couple minor tweaks like a bat top and clear yellow start/select buttons :D

Just as good as the SF4 TE stick but slightly cheaper and better looking after the button change :)

Just got off the phone with Capcom, and canceled my order. Guess I'm just gonna go ahead and order an HRAP3. Should have just done that in the first place back when Amazon had them for $90.

I know the stick is a sanwa, but how are the hori buttons? Do I need to replace them asap with sanwa or seimetsu?

No, you don't need to replace them ASAP. They're okay. I was thinking about ordering buttons but that Lizard Lick site all the crazy kids are talking about has only a few colors left so I'll wait. I have had mine for about a month.

edit: I am not saying the Hori buttons are great. But if you're not familiar with other types I doubt it will make a difference. When I play, and miss combos or whatever, its because I suck, not because the buttons are unsatisfactory.

If you want to get rid of the ugly default color scheme, go ahead and order them. If you don't care about the color scheme and are fairly new to sticks, the Hori buttons will be fine for you. If you have used sanwa/seimitsu before, you might want to order them.

Not asap but definitely at some point. I just put Sanwas in my PS2 HRAP and the difference was night and day in terms of responsiveness. Some people are put off by this and prefer the Seimetsu's as they aren't as hair-trigger apparently. The latter are definitely more stylish as well.

For sure :D

Those translucent buttons are pure sex.

They're all sold out on Lizard Lick. =/

You can try Akihabarashop.jp.

They have a much much much better selection of buttons. Cost is about the same, but shipping takes a little bit better.

You'll probably be better off ordering from akihabarashop.jp seeing as how lizardlick can take a long while to restock sometimes.

Sanwa OBSF-30RG

High-end action button from Sanwa, featuring a tougher microswitch engineered to withstand five times the punishment of a regular button. Note that this switch is longer compared to standard buttons, make sure your panel has the internal clearance required. If you want the best this is it.

Anyone try these? Worth the extra cost?

Augh, stores by me have 360 SE Fightsticks in stock, but nobody will hold me one...and I'm stuck at work waiting for this manager to let me do my job while he gives a client a stock market lesson. One of my friends is going to swing by and save the day though, woo!

I don't follow this thread religiously, but what's wrong with the MadCatz SF4 TE stick?

A lot of people who ordered from anyone other than Gamestop's website haven't gotten their sticks yet.

Also, like 4 people have gotten imperfect sticks, which MadCatz is fixing for free.

Got mine from B&N.com,just havent had time to open it yet...

to those of you that got your fightsticks in store: where are you? my store, nor any of the surrounding stores, still doesn't have them...

East Lansing, Michigan (Michigan State University) all of the surrounding stores have gotten their sticks in today.

Where are you?

Well... it seems GS has considerable muscle when it comes to all things gaming, even if they price gouge w/ shipping. Amazon should expect to lose a sizable chunk of their gaming customers after this. Only reason I haven't cancelled my TE preorder yet is the scarcity and the supposed mid to late March release of sticks in Canada. Patience is a muthafuckin' virtue right about now.

I just spent $130 on the Hori RAP-EX for my 360 from Amazon.

This is crazy. I've never spent that much on a stick before, and I've bought sticks for every gaming system I've owned going back to the NES Advantage. SF IV had better be something special. :lol

Ohio! Jesus, this makes no sense! :lol

What part of Ohio? I'm actually from the Toledo district (worked at GS for two years in high school, transferred up when I started here at MSU) I could make some calls to my old DM if your in that area to see what's up.

BTW stick ROCKS, 2-0 on HD so far!

Im tempted to order this, but i have no modding experience at all and i want sanwa parts.

I also just got the back ordered e-mail from Capcom. Going to see if I can find a FightStick at retail and then just cancel my order.

I'm kind of over the idea of spending $150 on a stick that I can't even buy. No point. I already have two Death Smiles HRAP EX's on the way so I don't really need the TE stick.

Gonna call the Lamestop's around here and see if anyone has it...

It's really, really easy. I had no experience either and just used a faq for initial guidance in terms of what tools to use and how best to pry off the wires from the buttons. Otherwise, very simple, esp. for a HRAP in that the stick already is a Sanwa. Here's a good faq: LINK

Keep in mind I only ended up using the 7mm driver and a philips. Used a butterknife to pry off the quick-disconnects. The only annoying part was getting the tiny washers back on.

Note that the actual SF arcade unit uses the standard OBSF-30, which is top of the line already. So I'd say no, its not really worth the extra cost.

Thanks.

i'm in southern ohio, our stores are in the columbus district, i believe. (district 130). i found two stores that had sticks, the rest didn't. weird as shit dude.

Just reposting to ask if anybody with SE sticks has experienced the joystick becoming stuck in the down position and not returning to the center, and getting stuck in diagonals resulting in multiple air jumps?

Thanks, so would you say the Xbox 360 Real Arcade Pro. EX is a solid stick?

Have you experienced this?

Well, I've got 2 HRAP's for my PS2 so judging by those and considering they are pretty much built the same, then yes, definitely. Especially if all you're gonna do is swap buttons. Very solid casing and nice weight. I'll be getting a 360 one whenever I get the $$ to do so.

Yes, I was wondering if my stick is broken or if it might be common on the SE stick.

No, that sounds pretty broken. Anything getting stuck anytime is generally a mark of "not right."

Get that replaced! (Or replace the stick yourself if you're feeling fancy.)

Sweet. Let me know how you like it, I'll post back when mine comes.

Funny story.

I had actually meant to order the $60 Hori stick, but I'm in the office right now and hurried through my order. I was at Gamestop over lunch who told me I was 100% screwed as far as getting a stick for my 360 in time for SF IV, so I just hopped on Amazon, bought the stick, and hopped off.

It wasn't until I got my confirmation e-mail I'd noticed I'd bought the $130 HRAP-EX. Yes, I'm an idiot. I looked for a cancellation option, but this is one of those rare times Amazon puts up a "preparing items for shipment" right after you place the order, so no dice.

I looked into things a bit and talked to a buddy of mine who bought the Mad Catz (SE, not TE) stick, and he said Hori made the 360 DOA stick that he was in love with (and stupidly sold on eBay, according to him). So, what the hell. I'll keep it.

I was thrilled to find out that the HRAP-EX's stick is very similar to, if not the same as the TE stick's. It's by the same manufacturer but I don't know if it's the same part.
