anyone else having issues with using their PS3 SE sticks on their PCs?

It registers as a "PC USB Wired Stick 8818" on my desktop PC but none of the inputs work on the test screen.

The weird part is I try it on my Aspire One and it works just fine.

Works on my PS3 as well.

Both PC's are winXP sp3.

I have one on Amazon as we'll, but i don't trust that date at all really. I overnighted the hrap ex overnight last week to have a stick for my SF4 import.

Yea, I'm not holding my breath. I just ordered the HRAP EX, worse case is I have 2 bad ass arcade sticks instead of one.

Welp, I'm sending one of my VSHGs out to Akuma001 in the bay at the end of the week to get dual modded so eventually I'll be able to play with the 360 and PS3 peeps.

The stick has to be set to D-pad for the 360 SE stick to work. Might be the same with PS3. I don't really like how it only registers pov, as far as I know (not everything supports POV :\), but it works well enough. For some reason, I couldn't get joy2key to work with it. I plan on taking a longer look at it over the weekend.

God, the white HRAP3 looks so much better than the US version. Want to buy one and bring it back to the states for me? :D

I'd consider it, but I think the one I got was one of the last. They've been out of stock for about a week now and it doesn't have a restock date.

Where are you guys ordering your EX-SE's?

I ordered mine from NCS, who is now sold out from what I see. I believe Yes Boss! got his from them as well. From what I have read, the stick is completely sold out. If you didn't pre-order one, you're out of luck.

However, there may be a ray of light - I translated Hori's store page for the EX-SE stick, and I see a note that apparently they are going back into production and will have another batch on March 1st - 3rd. If you really want an HRAP EX-SE, I would email NCS or Akihabarashop and ask if they can order one for you. You might get lucky.

I'm gonna go return my SE to gamestop, I'd rather not have to send it in to madcatz.

Lol yeah, I just returned mine this morning. I posted it on craigs to see if maybe I could get like $20 for opening it up and fixing the washer issue but all I got was a bunch of lowballers trying to offer me like $60 'cause I opened it.

pppppsh.

I'll stick with the FightPad until I cave in and order an HRAP EX...

I usually get my orders extremely fast with the standard shipping--usually just a few days. Right now is the only exception since they are backed up with orders. Ordered on Friday, and still haven't received shipping confirmation. Can't wait for my sanwa's to come in, then my HRAP EX will be complete.

Has anyone heard if Best Buy is getting TE sticks tomorrow w/ their games?

AFAIK, Best Buy will not be stocking the TE in-store. I believe their entire allocation was pre-sold online.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be receiving any of our order until late March or Early April. If you have pre-ordered a stick and would like a refund, we will be more than happy to take care of you. There are enough people on the current wait list to sell our order 3 times over, so it is ok, we completely understand and will not hold it against anyone, don't worry. For the record, when we began pre-selling these sticks, I was assured more than once that I would have them prior to SFIV launch. I take complete and total responsibility for believing that there are other companies besides our own that will tell their customers the truth, and I apologize. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

In the meantime, we are working on getting some of the SE sticks and are toying with the idea of selling them pre-modded, let me know if you're interested in that too...

Thanks,

Chad

Nice one Madcatz, guess the big chains muscled all the stock from you. Chad has been extremely helpful and informative and thus I will be keeping my pre-order with them.

Got this from VideoGame Central:

This is a notification regarding your Pre-order for the:
Madcatz Tournament Edition & Regular Street Fighter 4 Arcade Sticks.

We, as instructed from Madcatz, had pre-ordered SFIV Sticks set to ship from Madcatz on Feb. 17th, 2009

As a valued customer we are sorry to inform you that the Madcatz complete fulfillment ship date has been pushed back as per Madcatz's Official Statement that you can view here: http://videogamecentral.com/Madcatz_Letter_SF_Sticks.doc

Madcatzʼ verbal explanation for this last minute back pedal of lack of product is as follows:
"Due to the overwhelming last minute demand and a work slowdown due to Chinese New Year, Madcatz has under-produced these items for their initial release shipment. Madcatz will be providing more product to the confirmed pre-books as they become available. "

We empathize with the frustration that this causes with you (as with us) as VideoGameCentral was still getting a confirmed response (from all of our sources) to our pre-books up until a week ago. This past week, our confirmed purchase orders, which we were monitoring daily lost their confirmed status and we were left with only a vague response until we received the info that we are forwarding to you. We assure you this is a universal shortage which most of you probably know already.

We will be filling orders promptly as our sticks arrive. We have many sources also outside Madcatz that are working diligently to obtain higher quantities of these SFIV sticks. We will send out available sticks as they arrive in the order of the pre-books received.

Due to the above-mentioned information, if you would not like to wait, we have provided alternative product choices that make excellent substitutions. Please see below for the links to these great arcade sticks:

If you choose to wait for Madcatz to fill the allocation expected, we will be shipping them continuously according to the orders received from when Madcatz ships them. The estimated dates of fulfillment are expected to be late March & April. Once again, we apologize for the delay and will notify you once your order has shipped.

Thank you for your continued support,

Dominick Scarpitta / President

The linked "excuse" PR from MadCatz was also pretty funny to me. Don't know when I'll get my stick now. Damn that Chinese new year!!! :D

That PR statement sounds like the 'boss' is out on a boat somewhere fishing, and the receptionist put all of 30 seconds thought into it before slapping his name on the bottom.

Happy to say my HRAP EX arrived today :)

Nooooo my TE has been delayed until march 25th :( :( :( :(
I'm desperate now. I NEED an arcade stick for SF4, so I'm asking you all:

Is there any way to get a hold of a good Xbox 360 arcade stick in Europe (in this case Sweden), a good Hori for example, for a sum of money that is less than outrageous (ie 150 euro/$190 or less, which is what I was paying for my TE, including the 25% tax I would pay if I bought it from an import store)?

Are there, for example, people who could ship one to Europe directly as a gift, thus avoiding the 25% tax here in Sweden? I'm really desperate now :(

You can get the HRAP EX from Play-Asia, which is like 120 euro, but the shipping might kill it.

With shipping and 25% tax on stick+shippng price it would end up costing me 230 euro/$290. And no, that's not a typo :(

Dag nabbit, my SE FightStick tweaked out on me tonight for the first time. The stick was neutral but my character was walking left. I really love everything about this stick (weight, size, buttons, etc) but this is pretty worrisome

I assume based on previous experience with the innards of this stick that buying a Sanwa JLF stick would be my best bet for eliminating this issue? Mounting holes would match up and connectors would fit and all that?

180€ with shipping. Jesus, it's hard to be a fighting game fan these days. A fighting game fan with no stick building skillz I might add. And oh yeah, + tax :/

Might skip SFIV altogether. Can't really see myself playing it with Xbox360 gamepad :lol

Ok, made the awkward decision to cancel my TE stick preorder and get 2x sega usb controllers for ps3 instead. I already have a VSHG so that will more than make do. So if anyone has their TE stick ordered on play asia, consider yourself moved up 1 in the queue as I ordered mine in the first few minutes they were available.

Does anyone know if a Barnes&Noble online order can be replaced/exchanged/returned to a local Gamestop? If they have spare SE's I might try to do that.

Wanna put LS-33 in there but the hori stick is great after I modified the actuators with some electrical tape ala akihabarashop JLF ultimate mod.

"Wait, is there seriously no HRAP3 EX for the PS3? Am I stuck with getting a HRAP3 instead? What's the difference?"

There is no difference (well, a slight difference). EX is just the name Hori gives to Xbox sticks. "Fighting Stick EX2" or "Real Arcade Pro EX." Where as they just use numbers for the playstation sticks, "Fighting Stick 3" "Real Arcade Pro 3."

Part-wise, the HRAP EX and HRAP3 are near identical, but the stick in the HRAP EX is soldered to the PCB where as the HRAP3 actually uses a 5-pin connector. They both have quick disconnects, hori clone buttons, and a Sanwa stick. There's some other minor differences (HRAP EX has that glossy top, etc. etc.), but they are 99% the same stick.

The Ex on the HRAP Ex just stands for Xbox, just like the 3 in HRAP3 stands for Playstation 3.

They're the same stick.

edit: beaten.

"If you have links you can recommend that give detailed walkthroughs of the mods (for buttons or stick) please post them. Also if you know of any videos of people doing the mods on this stick I would love to see them as well."

Detailed instructions are as follows:

1. Open case
2. Unscrew the hex nuts on the inside to take off the face.
3. Pop out and unplug buttons
4. pop in and plug new buttons
5. reassemble.

Sure, for the buttons, but what about the stick? Isn't it welded in?
I know I want to put a hex housing on my HARP3 and I'm looking for instructions on how to do so...
And maybe even change up the art, so I am also looking for templates and what not.

Thanks tho

edit: nevermind about the soldered stick, just read that that is not the case on the HARP 3

I don't know who would really care about my fairly stock HRAP3 but I am posting my shots anyway. Sorry about the crappy iphone quality but i lost my camera snowboarding last month.

It's just a HRAP3 with seimitsu buttons and a new ball top. My first stick and I had a blast even doing that small mod.

They're similar but not identical. HRAP EX uses a JLF-TM-8T-SK-K as opposed to the HRAP3's JLF-TM-8T-SK.

The HRAP EX's lever is also soldered to the circuit board via wires instead of using a standard 5-pin connector like the HRAP3.

HRAP3 also has turbo and analog functions. HRAP EX does not.
HRAP EX has a PMD (headset) port. HRAP3 Does not.

its set to DP. I just cant figure out why it works on one pc and not the other. my hori fs3 and fightpad work perfectly on both machines.

the K just stands for the black balltop.

And you're wrong about the HRAP3 using the JLF-TM-8T-SK, it's a JLF-TP-8Y-SK...

That's the difference between JLF-TP-8Y-SK and JLF-TM-8T-SK.

I did however think the HRAP Ex used the JLF-TP-8Y-SK, but I guess I was wrong.

About turbo... who cares.

I was about to order a few new buttons and bat top for my HRAP EX, can someone confirm these are the correct parts for this stick? Appreciate the help.

Seimitsu PS-14-GN 30mm Pushbutton
Seimitsu PS-14-KN Pushbutton
Sanwa LB-30-N Bat Top
Sanwa GT-Y (octagon plate)

You'll need an additional adapter to use the battop but everything else is fine.

Cool, so you agree they aren't the same stick.

Can someone telll me the "big" advantage to modding your sticks? The switching of buttons/stick please.

Just curious, I think its awesome to read about modding them, but curious of way its done.

Holy shit Play.com UK just confirmed my SFIV TE stick as shipped with tracking number and all. Ordered when it was first posted in this thread that the page is up.

Didn't see that coming, now all I need is to get my ass back home from Cambodia.

Yeah, like i said.. I was wrong. I thought they used the same Sanwa parts.

There are small differences between the JLF-TP-8Y-SK and the JLF-TM-8T-SK.
