i don't know if anyone has reported anything similar yet but i called gamestop corporate last night to vent about the status of my stick, seeing as a store around me got a te that wasn't even for a pre-order. they told me while they said it may take up to the first week of march because of allocation, they received a shipment to their distribution center yesterday and some stores will see the sticks arrive with the game. my store hasn't went through their shipment yet, so if you preordered from a b&m gamestop, don't lose hope yet!! :lol

I'd be pretty curious to hear how many preorders of this stick was made. Supposedly 6K were made, it wouldn't surprise me if 20K or 30K were preordered. Likely Mad Catz will fill out preorders and that's that.

Does the bat top give more room to grip? The balltop is sort of not feeling good anymore on my hand.

I put a bat-top on my HRAP2, but ended up going back to the balltop after a week or so.

I guess it felt somewhat better, but for some reason I'm more accurate with the ball. I used to feel like the shaft on the balltop was much too short, but at this point I've just gotten used to it. I'd say order the bat and try it out. Its not like its expensive...if you don't like it, you can always switch back.

How much will the EX-SE cost to people in the US?

Best price was NCSX at 229+shipping. An actual US release is possible (particularly in the current stick-crazed climate), but I wouldn't hold my breath.

What i really dont get is that obviously someone is getting the damn TE Sticks in Europe. But so far every retailer, be it gamestop, big fish okaysoft or whatever are telling they dont get shit. Preorder after preorder bombs. What the fuck...

Jeez, should I be worried about my Amazon TE stick pre-order? Still says delivery estimate: 2/19-2/24

Yeah. I emailed them and typical bs reply telling me what I already know from the order page -_-

well i pretty much gave up on getting my ps3 TE stick from amazon within the next month, I'll just use my VSHG. I did end up getting a HRAP EX from amazon though since I unexpectedly ending up getting the 360 version of the game too..... anyway, sanwa buttons should be here later this week. I should have just drove my happy ass to raleigh to pick the buttons up.

Don't give up on the TE till at least the 25th. The date has been holding steady so it might still ship pout at that time. Even if it doesn't, it seems the next run of sticks will be the first week of March which is close enough.

I understand that some people have had Amazon change their ship date to sometime in March. I ordered Nov. 26th and my delivery date has been Feb. 25th for awhile now.

I ordered my 360 TE on the same Nov. 26th date and it still says the 25th just like yours.

*crosses fingers*

I've also got a second PS3 version preordered Jan 17th and that date also says 25th.

Who knows, guess we will know soon enough!

Pre-ordered a 360 TE on Dec. 22nd and shipping date is saying the 23rd with a delivery estimate of the 26th-2nd of march.

Amazon was out of stock of the HRAP3's JUST when I decided to make the upgrade from my FS3 to a HRAP3 just for SF4. I checked a few minutes ago and there were 3 (!!!) in stock again at the $99.99 free shipping price. I got to snag one in time, and I think there's 1 left at amazon. Both my SF4 order and now my HRAP3 stick estimate arrival to the 24th, with free shipping.

I went ahead and ordered 6 black Sanwa 30mm buttons, 2 30mm plugs, and a black 35mm top for the HRAP3 "High Grade" look (leaving the 24mm Hori's in there) from lizardlick right after I did this.

I'm freakin' excited :)

I'm a total stick newbie and my Street Fighter IV SE FightStick is arriving today. Which Sanwa buttons do I get?

Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton with Vertical Microswitch
Sanwa OBSN-30 Pushbutton with Vertical Microswitch

For the OBSN it says Same as OBSF-30, but threaded and including mounting nut. will I need that or is the OBSF fine?

Edit: Will the Sanwa LB-45 ball top work on the joystick that's already in the SE FightStick?

Well Barnes & Noble shipped my SE stick out yesterday, and I checked my bank account today and they charged me twice. I'm hoping the one charge was to see if I had the money in my account during authorization, and it just hadn't dropped off yet. I'll be pretty pissed if I have to make phone calls to people who don't know how to do their job, that's so frustrating.

If you're a "total stick newbie", as you put it, why are you bothering to replace the buttons? If this is your first stick, I would recommend just sticking with the stock buttons. There's no need to change them if this is your entry-level stick. I used Hori's stock buttons for 6 months on an HRAP3 just fine before I decided to swap them for Sanwa buttons. Just because some folks on the internet tell you they aren't "top of the line", it doesn't mean you won't get perfectly sufficient enjoyment or use out of your stock set of buttons.

Give yourself some leeway. Don't blow your wad at the outset.

Can someone telll me the "big" advantage to modding your sticks? The switching of buttons/stick please.

Just curious, I think its awesome to read about modding them, but curious of way its done.
Sanwa buttons don't really require much effort to push down, so the buttons feel smoother and more responsive. The stick is a bit less clicky, it also feels smoother. A lot of it comes down to preference though. Some still prefer concave Happ buttons (since they were the stock buttons on US SF arcade cabinets etc.)

This is good advice. I used the EX2 for my XBLA stuff for two years before jumping up to something more full-featured technically. It really helped me acclimate to the square gate and layout. Eventually, I wound up selling that stick on eBay for $35 with little loss.

To answer your question, OBSF-30. But you will likely find nothing wrong with the stock buttons and I would highly suggest you save your money and wait to see if your joystick becomes defective. A replacement is $25 and you'd be much better off getting a Sanwa joystick than replacing the buttons

Oh also, yes the LB-45 will fit as long as you get one of those $0.50 adapters right below it. From what I've gathered, the SE joystick is identical to the Sanwa JLF in terms of size. Still wondering about the gate, though

So I went to EB Games to trade in some games and I asked them what their status was with the TE sticks. They said Mid-March. I then asked about the SE and he said that MadCatz admitted that there was a problem with them and to hold off on ordering them to save myself the trouble. He essentially described the stick problem.

Sucks.

So I have a SE stick coming in the mail. MarkMan, do you know if the problem with the SE sticks will be fixed with the new batches? If so is there some way for me to get a replacement directly from MadCatz?

I was reading about how certain sticks are only compatible with certain adapters, and I was wondering if anyone who has a HRAP 1 or 2 knows if it will work on the PC with this:

2nded as I'm about to be in the same situation

Anyone with a PS3 FS3, I think I might upgrade the buttons in mine, if you have upgraded yours what did you put in?

As far as the stick should it be replaced or would a gate upgrade be enough?

Has anyone in Europe received their sticks yet? And i don't mean importing, a madcatz stick/pad from the Europe supply.
I received a mail from my shop saying that they still haven't gotten word from MadCatz on wether they'll make their shipment and they are also unable to contact them. And according to them MadCatz hasn't delivered in neither Holland(which is where i preorder my stick.) or the rest of Europe.

Thats what i heard from all the outlets that i preordered from... EB Regional Manager (know him from my brief WoW period) told me that they got a mail from MC that the total shipment for Europe is 3000pcs. That includes SE Sticks and Pads. And that they will get next to none.

My debit card was charged twice too and I have not gotten my money back...wow this is horseshit.

I thought the same thing as you and b&n said they didn't charge me twice.I contacted my bank via email, but will most likely call them if I dont get my money by tomorrow.

Wow, only 3000 and that includes pads and sticks? Jeez, a lot of people won't get their pre-orders. I hope that i'll still get mine, we'll see i guess. I'm assuming they'll release their supply on feb 20.

I did contact barnesandnoble. They said they didn't charge me twice.

With debit cards the bank puts a hold on your money first to make sure you have enough and then the bank releases the money to them.

I ordered feb.10th and $94.25 was taken out and then on the 12th another $94.25 was taken out.

My account history shows I was billed only once, but I'm still missing $94.25,it's like they never lifted the hold so money was taken out twice.

"Wait, is there seriously no HRAP3 EX for the PS3? Am I stuck with getting a HRAP3 instead? What's the difference?"

There is no difference (well, a slight difference). EX is just the name Hori gives to Xbox sticks. "Fighting Stick EX2" or "Real Arcade Pro EX." Where as they just use numbers for the playstation sticks, "Fighting Stick 3" "Real Arcade Pro 3."

Part-wise, the HRAP EX and HRAP3 are near identical, but the stick in the HRAP EX is soldered to the PCB where as the HRAP3 actually uses a 5-pin connector. They both have quick disconnects, hori clone buttons, and a Sanwa stick. There's some other minor differences (HRAP EX has that glossy top, etc. etc.), but they are 99% the same stick.
Damn, thanks for that detailed response. I figured since the prices between the two sticks varied so much on Amazon that there had to be a larger difference. I'm thinking of returning my SE stick to buy one of these, considering they're only like $40 more...oh wait, they're currently unavailable. -.-

i tried searching this thread for recommendations but to no avail, so: I'm looking to get my first arcade stick. I'll be playing fighters (everything from doa to sf to arcade fighters), and shmups as well (ie find me a stick for shmups!). Recommendations? Also, is it true no one is currently offering a dual-system (360/ps3) stick?

You can get a multi-system stick from custom builders, but no officially licensed accessory manufacturers make one. I think Microsoft doesn't allow any X360 accessories to also work with other consoles, but not completely sure on that.

And always mention your budget when asking for a recommendation.

That doesn´t sound like much to me, considering the amount of people that have pree ordered a pad or a stick. Also, one might wonder what percentage of that shippment are pads, SE sticks and TE sticks.

Here in Sweden, major retailers online have delayed their release dates due to the fact that they simply just don´t know when they will be getting any. Wich is a shame, because now Mad Catz probably will loose a lot of customers who aren´t willing to wait forever. Many people also might disconnect the stick from the game, since it won´t be there on launch.

heh, i've been using my hori DOA4 ex2 for the last day on SF4 and i've been kicking serious ass :) I noticed difference right away since i've been used to playing on a vshg but for a newbie i don't think you'll have a problem :)

edit: yay, my hrap ex was just delivered :)
