The HRAP3 is very sturdy.

The bolt/nut that keeps the top panel in place is pretty weak compared to past HRAP sticks, but other than that, it is very sturdy and reliable.

thanks, you the man markman

Thank you =)

Edit: That is really, really useful. The HRAP EX has a soldered stick, correct?

HRAP EX stick is soldered yes. It doesn't have the 5 pin connector like the PS3/PS2 HRAP sticks.

One more question guys. What size buttons does the HRAP EX use? I ordered Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton with Vertical Microswitch, so I might have to e-mail Lizard Lick about it in order to change my order.

Darkman M said:
At least the stick is already sanwa though :D

Yeah that's why I wanted this stick lol. Just need to change up the buttons and I'm set.

After playing with the TE stick for about 15 hours in the last two days, I love it even more. Such a good investment!

guh, i wanna test it on SFIV so badly. but alas, friday can't come soon enough! c'mon UPS!

Alright. So I have the SE Fight stick and love it. Haven't used a stick in a long time. Read about the washer shit and know that my controller has this problem as the joystick gets stuck from time to time. Has anyone called Madcatz and what have they said? I would really REALLY hate to be without joystick if we have to send them in.

Dude. Dude.

Everything you just asked is answered in the 50 or so posts preceding yours. Go read post 6010.

I read that, but was wondering if anyone has actually called them.

if you're having that problem with your stick, just drop an email or call the toll free #.

ahh you edited your post. just fix it yourself then.

WOOOOOOOOOO

My Amazon TE is now "SHIPPING SOON" - still has a ship date estimate of 2/25 for those date-obsessed folks here, but "shipping soon" means it's packed and will ship today.

Ordered 12/6/08

Anyone have any idea where to get a relatively cheap octagonal gate stick? Or is my only option a custom stick that's like 150+ dollars?

360. Keep checking today -"shipping soon" status literally happens has they box each package one by one.
Awesome, mine's switched to Shipping Soon too. I'm about to kill someone with this god damn 360 controller.

Yessss!!!!! Same here. Ordered 12/1.

I'm thinking of picking up the Hori Fight Stick 3. Does anyone have it? Is it good?

I'm picking it over the Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 because it's about half the price here and I'm not a hardcore fan of fighters in general so I don't want to splurge so much on a stick that I may end up using very little of.

Sure, it's not worth the investment if you're just going to go back to Halo or Killzone or CoD or whatever next week.

I asked this before but don't think I got an answer...

What would I need to do to adjust my Hori EX2's deadzone? What are my stick replacement options?

If your right then bless your fucking soul you bastard who I don't know! :D

MINE says SHIPPING SOON TOO! *breeath-don't get hopes up too much*!!

Ordered on 11/29/08 - One PS3 TE and One 360 TE WOOOOOOOOOO@_@!!!

*breeath...* :D

Still nothing for me, ordered on 1/8. I actually had a much earlier order for a PS3 TE stick but I canceled it and decided to go the 360 route this time.

Also, for those of you looking for TEs... Hang in there, more are on the way.

Retailers will continue to get shipments until all the preorders are fulfilled. The sticks are limited yes, but everyone that preordered one should be able to get one if they wait. Don't pay insane prices on ebay, just wait.

Look for shipments by the end of March through mid April.

*sigh* preordered at the beginning of Dec from amazon soon after they first went up, stick was released second week in Feb and I won't get it until April? makes sense....

No, I have not been reading the thread :lol I just mean that some of our Amazon orders are now "shipping soon" - check your order status.

Hey guys,

Remeber a few posts back I complained that my PS3 stopped talking to my HRAP2:SA with that DragonPlus adapter?

Turns out it was my fault. I'd thought I give it one more try and see if I could figure out was exactly was wrong.
Lol' an behold when I was messing with a dualshock2 (which also wouldn't register) I hit the "analog" button in the center and it started working. So I thought I'd try to see if I could do something similar with the HRAP (like disable analog mode) and I found you have to toggle the "slow" switch on the stick and then hit start/select or something like that (haven't quite figured out the order yet). After that, it was reading inputs from the stick again!

Obviously I have no I idea what I did and couldn't find any documention or prior references to this trick (instructions are in jpanese) ....in any case, i'm good to go now and just wanted to let everyone know that the DragonPlus adapter DOES work!

...once again, it was user error

So yeah, looks like I won't be needing that SE Fightstick after all

Any discernible lag?

AgentOtaku said:
Nope ...I ran the input test app available at SRK and it's lagless when played on my PC as well

Only problem with that program is (at least to me) it feels like it can falter due to user input being off. I tested my roommate's radio shack adapter that I use for my HRAP2 SA and it test lagless, but I have heard quite a few times that the RS adapters do produce lag *shrug*.

You can get any stick then buy a separate octagonal gate and put that on.

I have a HORI FS EX2, but I just don't want to open things and do soldering and all that stuff. I mean, unless it really as simple as changing out RAM on a computer, it's probably too complicated for me.

I asked the same question awhile back and it was suggested that I check out www.lizardlick.com

Hrm, thanks. I see parts, but I don't see complete sticks?

Ok,

So it looks like the 360 TE is "ship soon" from Amazon, which is as good as arrived. Ordered way back on November 26th.

My second PS3 version, ordered on Jan 16th, is still idle but I'll bet it will change status as well shortly.

Anyone know of an xbox 360 PCB that wouldn't require soldering?
why would you want a PCB that wouldn't require soldering?

Unless you're referring to something Cthulu-style, solderless pad hacks are a bitch. Soldering's way easier than trying to fit 20 wires into the space where a ribbon cable goes

Uhh so nobody has the Hori Fighting Stick 3? My main concern about this stick would be durability since plenty of people have reported that the buttons spoil rather easily. Anyone?

I have one, it has held up so far, but I don't play on it too heavily.

Hori fighting stick anything is shitty (360's EX2 and variants or PS2/3 Fighting sticks).

My DOA4 stick for 360 just stopped working the day I got SF4 (luckily I got another stick on loan from a friend). They have nice form factor, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about them. If buttons break or stop working, you'd have to open the stick and unsolder/solder on another button, and if the button's not Hori, you have to modify the prongs on the microswitch to get it to work. It's not easy to replace bad buttons like say, with the Madcatz SE stick

If you don't have the cash, just save up and buy better sticks like Hori Real Arcade Pro or Madcatz TE (or SE if they fix the joystick problem).

My debit card was charged twice too and I have not gotten my money back...wow this is horseshit.

I thought the same thing as you and b&n said they didn't charge me twice.I contacted my bank via email, but will most likely call them if I dont get my money by tomorrow.

Checked my bank account this morning, and one of the charges dropped off. As I suspected, it was a debit hold. No worries. :D

I do have the cash but I'm not sure how much of this game I'm going to be playing. I like the game a lot currently but I'm very bad at fighting games due to my poor reflexes and I've done very poorly online thus far. I also have practically zero experience playing 2D fighters on joysticks.

All of that above makes me very hesitant to blow all that money on a HRAP3.

Mine changed this morning too, finally got my money back,I knew it was some sorta hold. The thing that was odd was that it lasted over a week,my debit holds never last that long.

Glad we both have our money :)

Hori's entry-level sticks were made just for people in your position. You want a stick for a game you bought. You aren't ga-ga hardcore about playing that game and all its incarnations for years to come. Once you're played said game to death, you probably won't use the stick that much. You are wary of spending a fairly large sum of cash on a gaming peripheral..a toy, essentially.

Comparing Hori's low-end sticks to the expensive HRAP line is like comparing Honda Civics to the Porsche 911 series. Of course the Porsche is a nicer ride, but not everyone needs a Porsche to be happy. Buy an EX2 or FS3 and enjoy it - it will give you months of enjoyment. If you find you want more, you can always sell it months down the road and upgrade.

And it cannot be said enough: a nicer stick will not make you a better player, nor will it magically make the game more fun; a lesser arcade stick will not bizarrely rob you of some special gaming satisfaction.
