too early to tell.
I appreciate the amenities of the TE stick, sure. the area for the cord, n' such. but when it comes down to arcade sticks, I'm a simple man with simple needs. I just need the stick to feel good and the buttons to work when I press them. I've always felt like turbo buttons were something of a cheat, so I never use them.
so as of right now, I'd say I like my modded HRAP 3 a bit more.
My HRAP 3's stick is a JLF stick with the ultimate mod done to it (see youtube...basically, a second spring for tightness, some paper for added sensitivity to the direction presses, and some other stuff) octogonal gate, and semietsu buttons. the buttons aren't as sensitive by design, but they work for me. The stick is also modded for 360 & PS3 compatibility. the added sensitivity to the JLF means shorter throws and less deadzone for everything, which I've come to appreciate.
that being said, it's nothing that can't be done to the TE's joystick as well, since it too is a JLF. it's really just an octogonal gate and a spring away. and of course, a PCB with more compatibility can be added.
stock vs. stock, the TE stick is the winner going away. the TE only needs about $5 worth of mods to get the JLF up to par with my modded HRAP...but if you're willing to put an extra $25 into a HRAP and are indifferent to turbos, you can get the TE feel for less with a HRAP. much less, juding by eBay prices.
