Wow @ those Hori sticks. Glad I waited on buying a second stick. The HRAP V will compliment my TE nicely.

MarkMan, speaking of Vewlix, one thing I noticed about the TE is that beginning with the third column of buttons, and continuing with the fourth, the buttons begin to dip down very slightly. Whereas when someone posted the schematics for the actual Vewlix layout the buttons stayed even and didn't dip down. The Hori seems to be replicating that as well. I was just curious as to why you guys added the slight dip down. Was it for licensing reasons?

does the HRAP V have a platform? or is it the "baseline" and will be customized for PS3/360 when they finally bring it to market?
I assume it's the mockup for the specialized "HRAP V3" and "HRAP VX" in the future

Wow, just when I had sworn off buying new sticks. Hori had to pull me back in again.

I'm definitely going to get the 360 entry-level stick and the Veeeeeeeeeeee. I just hope the start button is moved and maybe they shorten the width a lil bit. Are the entry-level sticks going to use strictly Hori parts?

Thanks for sharing the info Mark.

And with all of those stick announcements, it can only mean your collection is going to explode.

Not sure I like the insane width of the Viewlex stick, but the HRAP V looks very hot.

They seem to be going for a control panel type of feel...as in, to be played on a table/platform/floor and not on your lap.

The metallic mirror surface under the dust washer seems like it is going to take a beating, though, and look trashy after a month of use.

Maybe a silly question: what happened to the RAP4? Did I miss something?

That Viewlix and HRAPV look awesome.

I don't like how the T6 sticks still use the old hori layout... should've used the new HRAPV layout.

Still... this is bringing competition between sticks which means only good things are gonna happen for the consumer :D

i hope they produce an asstonne of the V3/VX so theres no major markup price on them. those 2 should be priced to match the SE or cheaper hopefully.

indeed

not only did they bring new tooling/structure

they brought back the HRAP1/2 turbo slide switches

cable storage

new button layout

only one thing they bamboozled on

SANWA STICK WITH HORI BUTTONS

I guess they like to use that whole SA tag. ;)

The new ones are hot.

The wireless Tekken sticks have kinda lost their luster in light of the new line. The more I look at Vs the more I like the wide form factor. I'll be gone all next year but I'm going to do my damndest to get a couple of those Vewlix variations, even if I have to ship them to my parent's place to enjoy them in 2011. That is an awesome license...seeing Taito on the face like that.

Is this true? I think it's "supposed to" do that.

Wait, what? Why? How are they gonna compete with your product if they keep short changing? Bah. Was really hoping the V was all Sanwa.

I've never used/seen a Vewlix in person, so I'm just going off the layouts on Slagcoin.com. They say this is the standard Vewlix layout:

vewlix_s.png

Obviously the Mad Catz sticks add one more button, but based on that picture there is no down slope. Which there is, ever so slightly, on the Mad Catz sticks. You can really see the dip if you look at the templates they provide. The new Vewlix inspired Hori's seem to be matching it exactly. That's why I was wondering if it was a licensing issue.

Holy shit, just came home and I was greeted by the MadCatz Asian TE stick I preordered from play-asia. Didn't expect it to be here so soon. Pics to come :D

Sorry for answering this late!

I'm surprised you noticed this, you're probably the first one to ever point out the very (VERY) [VERY] slight slope in the metal panel on the sticks. I noticed this after the first production run, but by that time, it was obviously too late to change things. Rather than risk not having these sticks available at launch (lol; they were impossible to find anyways), I decided to let it go as pretty much no one noticed it (probably until now).

The very first samples have the exact (EXACT!) placement. There aren't many of those left, I shipped a lot of them to press/media/Capcom.

I honestly see no problem with it as it is now. I don't plan on changing it. But I tip my detective hat off to you.

Yay. What # did you get?

----

I got 4 more sticks this past week -_-

This pushes me over 130. I'm never going to fit all this crap in one room. October is going to kill me. Eff you Hori. This is what I'm getting:

2 x Hori Fighting Stick VX
2 x Hori Fighting Stick V3
2 x Hori Real Arcade PRO 3 (TEKKEN 6 Edition)
2 x Hori Real Arcade PRO EX (TEKKEN 6 Edition)
2 x TEKKEN 6 Wireless Arcade Stick Bundle (Xbox 360)
2 x TEKKEN 6 Wireless Arcade Stick Bundle (PS3)
1 x Hori Real Arcade PRO EX SE (Xbox 360) - US Release
1 x Hori Real Arcade PRO 3 SA (PS3) - US Release

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK MY WALLET.

That's not counting the SF Round 2 stuff.

Shiet.

Did you get to see it in person, or were you told that? Take it there are no shots showing the compartment right?

No shots showing it. It was confirmed by a rep at the booth.

Markman,

You should switch your hobby to comics or something... Way too many sticks.

I just want the VX and V3 plus a HRAP V (for each platform).

Since you say you're not changing anything on the TEs, does this mean you'll be using the same design and just re-branding them for the foreseeable future? :(

I noticed that when I was making custom artwork using the template that you provided, but I just thought it was supposed to be like that (since I never looked too closely at the actual Viewlex schematic). I do wish it was perfectly straight aligned just because it would've made it easier on me (instead I had to create tons of guides in Photoshop!), but that's water under the bridge now. :D

Yikes. That is a lot of money. Still, a celebration of Tekken 6, of sorts. Understandable given your love.

No Twin Stick? Maybe you are just counting Fighting Sticks.

For me it is pretty light:

Hori Twin Stick
Tekken HRAP PS3
Tekken Wireless Bundle 360
Mushi Futari Stick
Marvel Vs Capcom TE 360
Round 2 TE PS3

I'll get a Play-Asia TE 360 stick, funds permitting. Just bought a twenty-five strong Saturn dream collection so my wallet has to recharge a bit. Hopefully the Asian flavor is still available in the coming month. I want the 360 version because of the very pleasing colorful buttons.

I guess it has. :lol
They look nice and portable

I forgot I ordered an EX-SE, I guess it's something to look forward to next week.
Pity it will be the North American packaging :|

Yes Boss!: I didn't count it because it got pushed back to November! hehe.

Damn,

Did not know it got pushed :-( Gives some breathing room for October, at least. I was having second thoughts on the PSP Go...guess now I'll pick one up as October's hardware purchase.

Damn I wish I did not see the new HRAP V sticks!...Now I want one :lol I take it that it's going to be able to mod it like the current HRAP sticks?

I wouldn't expect anything less from Hori now. They've seen what people want/like ;)

I'll be getting a Go too! Specifically to play TEKKEN 6 on. I can't stand keeping a regular PSP in my pocket.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the reply.

You know, being that it slopes down a little and thus makes an arch, in addition to the other layouts you can derive out of the design (American 6 on the right, SNK as top row, etc...) you can say it also pays homage to the Japanese splayed style. ;)

But in all seriousness, I like little things like that which differentiate things from each other. Gives the product a little of its own character, of course in addition to the other things you guys added.

Fuck the regular PSP. Always hated it...design, cheapness of the 2000/3000, awkward control placement...but I do take it to work and use it quite a bit between customers. The Go seems like a dream. Everything I'd expect from Sony hardware. I bought FF VII a few months back specifically for the go (never played the game). I'm doing White with GT Mobile.

Also, the Asian TE. What is the story on that one? The numbering makes it seem like it is limited...am I safe to wait until the early november to order or should I jump on it quicker? I'm trying to wait until there is another stick to order with it so I can maximize my fed-ex cost.
