I love arcade sticks.

I brought the SF4 sticks to a Capcom event in Los Angeles last night. If you wanna read up about it check out the SRK thread here:

OH!

And how do you like my new gaming setup!?

Nice.

You never answered a question I had, though. For the X360 premium stick, what's the button layout? I want to know if I can play Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 XBLA with these things...

Hey Markman, how do you rank the Hori Soul Calibur II Arcade Stick for GCN and the Dreamcast's Hori Capcom Vs. SNK Arcade Stick? Those are the two other sticks I own and I was just curious as to where they'd be ranked.

fyi RenChi.com has free shipping today only.

the bastards totally overcharge though so you're more than making up for it
those that absolutely need Hori Real Arcade Pro EX. it's $200.00 shipped
http://www.renchi.com/renchi/Advanc...owPicture=Y&productname=*real+arcade*&x=0&y=0

I use the code, but when i'm in the order sumary they charge for the shipping:?

PS3 PS3 Real Arcade Pro.3 SA Stick - Hori (HP3-53) PS3-ACC-HP3-53 $199.00 1 $199.00
Shipping Price $97.24

How do i know if the coupon is working?

How is the Hori EX2? I want a decent arcade stick that will be good for fighting games but also other games that exclusively use the D-pad (mostly XBLA games like Pac-man and such). I'm not a hardcore fighter game player or anything, but I do like playing SF2. I also would like to get one with a price that resembles the price of a regular controller. What's the difference between its $60 price tag and the SS rated upcoming $150 SF4 one?

Edit: Or since the SF4 one is unreleased how about the difference between this and the still pretty expensive Real Arcade Pro EX?

Hori EX2 use Hori stick and Hori buttons.
Torurnament Edition SFIV stick use Sanwa stick and buttons.

Sanwa is a japanese manufacturer for arcade parts so TE the quality difference is really appreciable.

You should take the time to sift through this thread as it answers all your questions. Re: the EX, it's serviceable, but what I couldn't stand was the square gate. It just didn't feel like what I was used to. So I modded it and put an octagonal gate and changed the buttons and some other aesthetic changes. I love it now. Much more than I did out of the box.

hmmm what shipping option did you choose?
i think the deal is good only on registered airmail

They only send sticks to Spain by Courier Mail.
In the web says:
One day only, all orders over $49 will be entitled to free registered airmail shipping worldwide, customers who choose faster courier shipping (FedEx / DHL) will be credited by the same amount as if the order is shipped via registered airmail shipping.

I think that almost 100$ for an airmail shipping is pretty expensive.

Disclaimer -- I don't play fighters w/my arcade stick, mostly arcade games, and the occasional hook up to the PC for some MAME action.

I have modded my Hori DOA4 with the octagonal gate. I abhor the clicking of the stick movement, but I got used to it to the point, where I could mostly ignore it. I love the look of the HRAP. How much better of a stick is the HRAP (has a sanwa stick, yes?). How's the action (stiffness/centering, is it 'clicky')? Is it only a marginally better stick than the octa-modded DOA4?

Anyone....MarkMan....Bueler....etc...

Any help greatly appreciated...

Oh, and if I do upgrade, is anyone here interested in the gate-modded DOA4 stick -- I'm thinking what, $35 (with US shipping) sound reasonable?

The stick is more responsive and does not suffer from the loud clicking of the DOA4 stick's microswitches.

You seem to really like that octagonal gate though. HRAPs have square gates, so you might just want to hold onto that gate and place it inside the HRAP instead of selling it with the DOA stick.

I like the clicking :/

Hell yes! PM me.

Nah, the gate is generally inexpensive for me. I'll assume the Gate will then fit (and be as easy to mod) in the HRAP EX as the DOA4 was?

Great Poster:

Every Japanese arcade stick is clicky aside from the Sanwa Flash and the ASCII sticks with flash clones. ;(

One good thing to consider is the clicks let you know the stick is working :P

Also, new PS3 stick!

For those of you that don't know about it, the RoydsStick.EX is a specialized arcade stick that has swappable panel inserts.

It was originally made for PS2 but is now coming out for PS3 (which will probably work on PC as well).

I'm a proud owner of a PS2 RoydsStick.EX and am confident in giving it a decent ranking on my Retail Arcade Stick Ranking List.

I remember reading at the tech boards on SRK it was a bitch to mod Sanwa buttons into the ROYDS stick due to the stock ones being soldered directly into the circuit board and there being such a small amount of room to work with thanks to its removable design. Any truth to that?

So here's my problem.
- I have a HRAP 1 modded with Sanwa buttons... so i don't want to buy another stick for SF4. - I've got a PS2 > PC controller adapter, but my PC is a P4 2.4ghz with 512mb ram dead end.
- I have a Macbook Pro 2.4ghz Core2Duo with 2gb ram, 8600M GT/256mb.... but haven't tarnished it with a Windows install yet
- I don't have a 360 or PS3

So my questions are
- Have the specs been revealed for SF4 PC version? Will my Mac setup be close enough?
- Are there any reliable/no lag adapters for PS2 > 360 or PS2 to PS3?
- Will the PC version be able to play online with the consoles?
- Who wants to give me a free HDTV to tip me towards the console version?

Thanks in advance

Bought a cheap Elecom stick for 2000円 and bought the Sanwa stick, 6 buttons, and 2 plugs for 3000円. The total was 5000円 and it uses the official buttons from the arcades here in Tokyo.

I would never pay for 6000円 for a stick, and go figure my stuff is now made with higher quality than most sticks. :lol

Plays SSF2THDR, SCIV, and Battle Fantasia like butter. Can't wait for BlazBlue and SF4 and KoFXII to come out for PS3 now.

Just ordered the SF4 Official Tournament Uberness Blah Blah Blah stick, on the condition that I can tie Markman to some railroad tracks if it sucks.

Give me a custom tag ^_^

About the HRAP EX for the Xbox 360 and ArcadeShock:

Update (12/12/08: We will be getting these sticks in the first week of January 2009. Pre-orders will ship immediately thereafter. As promised, we will be the first to get this, which means those who pre-ordered will be the first to have them in the states as well. Thank you to everyone who waited patiently for this. The time for perfect fighting controls is almost here.)

ArcadeShock delivers as expected. Whoever was feeling bad because i said they never got back to me in the earlier pages can, like I said, not worry. :D

I heard that some guy said that his GameStop isn't taking any more preorders on the super deluxe stick. Is it going to be that rare?

If you can find out the GameStop store # I can contact them and get to the bottom of this ;)

MarkMan, now that UK Mad Catz store says that there will be Tournament Edition stick in U.K.
Do you know if is MC Store exclusivity?
They don't send outside U.K. :(

I need to restart my project. It got this far, but never further. Mostly due to my cat chewing over half of the wires I had soldered in place.

Practice.

Don't over exert motions.

Learn how to be precise.

(I'm assuming you're playing on Japanese parts)

With Japanese sticks, when it comes to activating inputs/registering... less is more.

BTW, I prefer this!!!!

MarkMan
Tekken Lord ^_^

Thanks. I'll hit up the arcades when I get a chance. I still have to preorder SF IV Tournament Stick.

Is the $150 Streetfighter IV Tournament stick going to be THAT much better than the $80 SF IV Fightstick version? What's the difference?

I don't mind fancier buttons, but I want every advantage online. If its not that much better, I rather save $70.

Question: Are the Tournament Sticks that Mad Catz are doing for the home versions of Street Fighter IV, coming to Europe? And does that only include the UK?

I think GAME has them for semi-preorder here in Sweden.
