HRAP's come in a large box, and there's probably a ton of preorders, who knows

So, they come in a large box and a lot of people ordered them. That describes about half the products for sale at Amazon. That post quoting that Arcade Shock salesperson is just pure FUD spreading about a competitor. Of course he's going to try and make Amazon sound bad - especially when they are selling sticks $30 cheaper. I seriously doubt any of those ridiculous allegations are true.

Actually, I kind of hope they do ship late, though - I'm not going to be at home for Christmas, and hence won't be there to accept delivery of the 360 HRAP.

I can't believe this whole arcadeshock ordeal, they were a great site back in the day. I'm just glad I don't have any money to spend on a stick until the holidays have passed, otherwise I may have been in this same situation.

P.S. Markman, I sent you a PM at SRK under a different name. It would totally tickle my fancy if you could get back to me on that. :D

Ive fucked people up real good on a pelican stick before. True story.

haunts' t5 stick is the only stick i ever modded that had an ant farm graveyard in it when i first took it apart. true story :lol

Somehow I doubt he paid anything for those.

btw are those the cables that are on the final version? They look a little thin.

Dear God. You must be filthy rich.
$150 each stick! WTF!

Somehow I think they're a perk from his job w/Madcatz

Hes however easily eclipsed such an expense...
He's amassed over 70 arcade sticks in his lifetime.

Mark did you ever release physical dimensions for the TE stick?
It looks slightly bigger than the VSHG but still smaller than an HRAP

True story. I interviewed him for a school assignment... Since then he's bought a few more. It's really crazy... I thought I was bad. My girl was complaining cuz I bought Blurays and games...and it just seemed like I was collecting them...cuz I never took them out of the shrink wrap.

70+ joysticks... He has enough plastic to make his daughter a playhouse...

I'm debating... Maybe I should just cancel my preorder and get a refund from Arcade Shock and just invest in another SFIV TE stick. There's no need to mod it, as it has everything out of the box.

Has anyone tried the Arcade-In-A-Box sticks that work on both PS3 and 360? I'm debating on throwing down for a pair of those.

In case anyone missed the recent Major Nelson podcast... Capcom's Seth "s-kill" Killian was on the podcast and talked a good bit about Street Fighter history, HD remix, and very briefly about the SF4 arcade stick.

Listen to the interview and you can hear the part where he whips it out (pun intended).

cue porn music.

Seth gets on the show at about 1 hour and 20 minutes into the podcast....

Enjoy!

- any news on the UK release of the stick? I want to give my money!
- you mentioned earlier some unannounced features. I didn't notice anything being announced, but since you showed the sticks publicly, I guess you can spill the beans?

Europe will be getting these, unfortunately I don't know how their sales campaign will go, but they WILL be available. Keep checking with your retailers! Sorry I wish I could be of more help, when I KNOW something, I will definitely chime in though.

And for the big reveal/detailing... It's been pushed back to early Jan... Just in time for CES.

Could you ask around whether or not Capcom will also release them in Belgium / The Netherlands? I somehow doubt they will though (I don't know of any store that actually sells arcade sticks over here), but it'd be nice to hear an official confirmation about this.

I got my first stick yesterday as an early xmas present, the PS3 Fighting Stick 3. I like it so far, been playing SSF2T Remix and Mortal Kombat 2 and SC4 Demo. I also have VF5 coming from Goozex, it is going to take some getting used to but I see why people are crazy for them.

I might end up having to build a custom one for 360 or something, sounds like fun.

Having just gotten HD Remix and feeling as though as I've hit the peek of what I can accomplish in SC4 on my PS3 game pad I think I might finally looking to get a proper arcade stick. Suggestions for something that would a good all around stick, not looking to spend more than $100

The HRAP3 is at the top end of your limit, but it's easily the best retail stick you'll find sub-$100

Hmmm, I'm looking to replace the stick in my Wii Hori Fighting stick, preferably the same one that's found in my HRAP3. Is it hard to replace or is it just as easy as the HRAP?

its nearly impossible to fit the jlf into any fighting stick. There's almost no clearance for the stick without major modifications to the base and the stick.
one idea I was toying wth was changing the stock switches in the joystick for sanwas.

Amazon's North American HRAP shipments have been delayed until February.

...which is pretty good news for Madcatz

Good news because I'd like to fight them head on.

That made my decision more easy. SF IV Tournament stick for me. Was going to get the HRAP because didn't want to wait until February. Now, time to use $10 off code from Prince of Persia pre-order.

I HIGHLY recommend this. Although I would swap the stock HORI buttons out for Sanwa types. Perfection.

is it PC and BC PS2 compatible? I would love to play some SHMUPs with this as well as playing some fighting games on the PStriple

I wonder if the arcadeshock.com ones are delayed aswell...

...and they probably were.

I'm looking to pick up an arcade stick and I don't want to spend too much. I'm not looking to get too hardcore into sfiv when it comes out but hardcore fighting gamer or not, the 360 dpad blows. I was just going to get the hori ex2 stick until I saw what madcatz has coming out. Is it worth it just to wait? I know its only two months but i just picked up hdremix and I'm impatient. :lol Also the pads coming out are sexy. :D

It depends on which of the Mad Catz sticks you would be waiting for. If you have the money for the premium Mad Catz stick and only need 1 then yes it would be worth it to wait. If you were planning on getting the cheaper of the Mad Catz sticks then it would be a tough call. We haven't really heard much about it and it hasn't been brought out to any of their events so there aren't any impressions. On the other hand, while the EX2 may have some negatives, it gets the job done. Here is a post from Sirlin, game designer for HD Remix and tourney player:

I used the hori DOA stick for all of development and to get to #1 ranking. It's good enough, apparently. Not sure why there's so much whining about it.

The DOA4 stick is the same thing as the EX2 except it has DOA4 art on it.

AZ Greg said:

Well that's reassuring. I'm not looking to get the tournament edition just the $60 one so I guess the Hori one isn't a bad choice then. I almost got the doa4 one when i was playing that and again with SCIV but the pad works for me on those two. HDREMIX is just impossible though..
